Yak face.com is reporting a 2 pack of Luke Skywalker and Yoda from the 6” line, no pictures just yet.

A new leaked price with the description and the last year's prototype preview.

Hope it's a new Yoda appropriately scaled to be carried in a backpack. Is this the only way the Dagobah Luke is going to be available?

It wouldn't surprise me if they released Dagobah Luke as a standalone figure too, like they did with the X-34 Speeder or Yavin Ceremony with less accessories. But then again, the new Chewbacca and articulated C3PO are only available in their two-pack Amazon exclusive form and there are no leaks whatsoever for a standalone Dagobah Luke, not even a listing or a codename in any retail store. So, who knows what they'll do.

But I have some gut feeling they will release him standalone too because they showed his 3D prototype rendering of him ALONE... and that Yoda in the Deluxe pack will ONLY come in the form of "backpack training" version.

It isn't possible to do a "screen accurate" retrofit of the existing Yoda figure that will fit into a backpack, not with his non-articulated knees.

So if you want Luke and a normal standing Yoda you will have to buy two separate figures/boxes (I mean Yoda is now available as an Archive and also as a 40th Anniversary edition). But if you want the backpack training Yoda in your collection too - you will have to buy the two-pack. They're not gonna sell Yoda separately for sure.

I had heard this rumor a few weeks back but then thought it was wrong when the word came out Dagobah Luke was in Wave 3 of 40th Anniversary. Gonna have to give us something extra in this deluxe to really move this set after he and Yoda are both coming on cool 40th cards. I'll be in obviously, just wondering how others will view this.

It will be interesting to see what is in the 2-pack and what the price point is. As someone who only got back into collecting a couple years ago, I think it's good to occasionally do things like this: including a re-release figure in with a new one. Buuuuuut...in this instance, that would have made a lot more sense a year ago, when Yoda was hard to find. Instead, this will be the third re-release of him in about 12 months (fourth if you include the Force ghost one). I would think that anyone who wanted him has probably picked him up. So what's the value-add here?

Well, it remains to be seen if the Yoda in the 2-pack will be the full figure or some sort of back pack "plug in accessory". As others have mentioned, trying to cram the existing figure into a back pack will be pretty awkward as he is a little to big. Who knows though, maybe it won't even be like that. Could just be Luke standing on his head with Yoda standing by...maybe throw in a couple of rocks or crates? It would be cool if we got a new headsculpt for Yoda, with his eyes closed, using the Force.

AFAIK this is the only TBS boxed Luke Dagobah. The TBS boxed Luke is going to be the SnowSpeeder version.
obviously it’s already a thing he is gonna be on a card back for the 40th wave 3.

A black box is not an exciting pack-in for me. In fact, the only positives for the boxes is that I don't stress over condition of the boxes like I do with the cards, and thus can consider Amazon when purchasing. But I think they will do something to Yoda so he will fit and look properly in the backpack. That is a cool change. And I doubt the backpack will come with Luke in wave 3. But I'm thinking it should also come with some rocks or other random accessories not given to us already in the Luke and Yoda separately.

I like the idea of an eyes-closed, Force-using and/or disappointed-in-Luke new Yoda face. A box and some rocks wouldn't be exciting, but Luke's lamp and the fish stick that Yoda steals? That would be pretty cool.

Let's just hope they don't butcher the arms with "over" articulation like they did with 3.75" version.

I thought about that, but he kind of needs that double elbow to hold his backpack straps like a lot of the old pictures. I think it would come off a lot better in a 6" version.

...although doesn't farmboy Luke have the same joints? There's nothing good about that figure...

Judging by the digital render that they showed, it doesn't look like they will.

I just hope that he will be available in some other form. However unlikely that may be. I just need a photo real head with slightly disheveled hair to transplant onto a Snowspeeder body to get the 'Dagobah landing' figure. I think the hair is just too neat and helmet like on the new Bespin version.

Just read that too...
Here is the DPCI# 087-16-4525. 44.99@.
Evidently NOT a Target exclusive.

I'm all in for a Dagobah Training Luke. Prototype looks good. Wouldn't mind a Yoda either since I neither have the original release nor the updated version.

I'm guessing I'm the only person more intrigued by a new Yoda than sweaty tank top Luke, which honestly I don't have much use for in my displays.

If they’re going out of their way to make a new Yoda (finally) and including it in a Dagobah Training two-pack with Luke, the only thing that makes sense is a Yoda who can fit in Luke’s backpack or otherwise ride on his back, right?

I wonder if the head could be swapped on the Bespin Luke, too. I think it would look good, at least for the latter part of the duel with Vader when Luke is quite sweaty.

That's a superb idea....and put it on the original Bespin body a lot of us have knocking about, with a dirt wash and a little distressing... perfect final duel version! I think I'd have to stop short of adding cuts and bruises to the face though, I'm not that good and I wouldn't want to mess up that lovely face printing...
I don't ever want to wish for a pegwarmer but if it's in the two pack and a red box, there's a reasonable chance he may go cheap enough eventually to be able to source multiple heads....

There’s actually 3 different Luke Dagobah releases.

1. In wave 3 in ESB 40th packaging
2. Exclusive version with Yoda.
3. Red box( black series) release.

By the way the exclusive version will be at EE as well as Target . 🇺🇸

Makes sense to me. He's either going to be smaller or maybe they will do him like the OTC Yoda, where he split in two at the waist. I'm interested to see what they do.

I would love an articulated 2.2" Yoda.

That means he'll probably be quite plentiful then...
