Yoda - #06

It looks okay, I guess. Don't mind that it's Yoda, but I've never really liked a 3.75" scale Yoda, and this doesn't look particularly better than those. Guess we'll see.
 
Yoda looks pretty awesome sauce. Can't wait to see who else he'll be coming with. :)
 
Love it! Can't wait to snag the little guy. Such a vintage throwback feel to it. From the soft goods, to the snake to the excellent face sculpt.

 
Surprised about Yoda, as I was expecting one of the previously rumored or mentioned characters like the TIE fighter pilot or C-3PO. I am not a fan of the line going in the soft goods direction so I'm not pleased with that, though I will admit that is one of the better soft goods pieces I have seen for a Star Wars figure (although the bottom of the garment looks off by being rounded). That aside, everything else about Yoda, including the face sculpt, is great in my book.
 
I actually think the soft goods look bad.

at no time would yoda esb be in a clean bathrobe like this.

as ive said for years softgoods are for girls dolls :)

Hopefully it will look like this for the final version. Snake looks like a limp candy cane around his neck. Nice way for them to sell twice the Yoda's tho for those who want a PT Yoda with saber and an OT Yoda with snake- way to go GreedBro (said the man with the snarky "Jabba the Hutt as an exclusive" attitude)

Face does look good tho. So, this makes Yoda and the Emperor for this wave so far? Even tho we ain't seen the pic I read where he was planned- that right?

I guess a whole lot of us loved girl dolls when we played with Jawas and Yoda back in the day. :rolleyes:

Not to mention all the other figures that got soft goods capes and robes back then. :p
 
The only thing I don't really like (and it seems like all of the recent Yoda figures have this) is the sculpted white hair. I think it prefer a bald head only like the original Kenner version. I know he has hair, but to me it's always more thinned out and wispy, not thick and matted as it looks when it's sculpted. He looks just looks better without it in my opinion, but not a "deal breaker" as some would say. His face still looks really good, though.

plastic was ok

but i cut all the soft goods off my royal guards lol

how could you play with them outside? I was always taking my figures outside to play. Yoda lived in a swamp in my childhood well a mudhole and my imagination. :)

Yoda looks good! I wonder if the striped snake was so that you can have both a brown- ​and an orange-snake Yoda? :)

Would be amazing if done right. I would also love a Bly, Gree, Bakara and even the galactic marine and airborne trooper. All would be cool at this scale.

My choice for OT would be the death star gunner. Love that design.

Well.. I am guessing they went striped because it's more accurate to the snakes they used in the Dagobah scenes. ;)

Not impressed. Face sculpt's good, but the rest ... meh! Yoda's one of those figures where sg really are not a necessity. Theres only so much you can do with those stubby legs articulation-wise, anyway.

They are if you want to put him in lightsaber duel poses from the film. He should have plenty of articulation to play with. :)
 
Face sculpt is good, not convinced that soft goods was the right choice though. I'm going to go back on my claim that I prefer the BS releases as multi-episode as possible; with this guy I was hoping that he'd be ESB through and through - I would've liked him to have come with a blue backpack and Luke's lamp (and maybe even flight cases).

I guess the lightsaber makes him a ROTS era Yoda?

Looks fantastic to me, would've loved it if he came with a few pots, Luke's food supplies, a mini light, blue bag and a blanket but this will do fine.
 
Does he have the wispy 'toilet seat' around his head in the prequels too? Meh meh meh, as someone said, I really would have preferred an ESB Yoda. In any case, I always thought the idea of a sabre-wielding, somersault-doing Yoda a bit silly.
 
the snake just looks so off to me. too much contrast, too clean as well as Yoda's robe, dirty it up a bit, or darken it.
 
Nice biddy dressing gown that is. Looks nothing like the film version.
 
At least i hope that he'll be able to pull off two handed poses with that cloak.
 
And he comes with a snake just like the original version. Nice touch, Hasbro. Yoda looks good too, I appreciate that they went with the OT likeness and not the PT. A definite purchase for me.
 
Head sculpt looks amazing. Hope the production robe looks good and they don't screw anything up. This is one of the extreme few things I'll buy, if it works out. Still doubtful about 3.75" Yoda (and Luke's a serious pass :( ).
 
Looks great, especially that head sculpt. You can keep the lightsaber, though--my Yoda doesn't need one! :p
 
That figure is 100% incredible. It's totally Kenner-kid trolling on Hasbro's part, and I like it.

And the snake is great (check out the sculpting detail) and, as many have said, sort of represents the snake in the hut that Luke clears out (a California Kingsnake). with maybe some Kenner-ish orange banding.

This definitively closes the door on the 3/75" stuff for me, as that Yoda was the only one I was possibly holding out for (but the press photos for it were a disaster).
