We have no idea what you are talling about.

Are you suggesting that this is some Hasbro-like re-paint re-package? Clearly Spock had a gold strip where Dave has a blur. AND Spock did not come with a Woody (from Toy Story) hat. So: no, nothing at all alike. They are clearly two different toys.

Well I'm not particularly proud of it, but hey, I had an hour to spare, cardboard, plastic rivets ...

Vader and I are the same height - cool!

I still have a Star Wars growth chart from when I was growing up that lists all my measurements as a child. It would have been cool if it would have had all the character heights listed on the chart as well.

Re: With those hands / claws / pincers / pseudopod

Well, I'm working on my own Star Wars adventure for my High School english class if you can believe that!

Star Wars: Destiny on Tolbeck (Spoilers ahead)

Basically, it's about a Jedi named Ras Kuris (that's the best I could come up with for a name). He's a low level Jedi serving in the Clone Wars, doing little more than providing a reserve force for Republic campaigns. He is contacted by Mace and Yoda who inform him that General Grievous (of course he'd be in my story
) has attacked and overrun the Republic army, including Anakin and Ahsoka, on the planet Tolbeck. Having no other Jedi or clone forces to spare, they order Kuris to the system to rescue them.

Kuris meets up with Yularen and the remnants of Anakin's beaten space fleet, and the combined force attacks Grievous's fleet over Tolbeck. Kuris goes after Grievous's flagship the Invisible Hand. His Star Destroyer is heavily damaged and Grievous, desperately wanting to add another lightsaber to his collection, boards the ship with a large droid attack force. Kuris and his padawan duel Grievous on the ship which leads to the death of the padawan. Kuris and Grievous battle takes them to the secondary hangar, where a deactivation of the forcefield causes Grievous to be blown out of the ship, across space, and back to his ship, where he promptly orders the Star Destroyer destroyed.

As his ship is blowing up, Kuris escapes to the surface where he rendezvous with Anakin outside of the Sep position. Their original plan to attack the droid army is useless after the defeat of Kuris's fleet and the ground forces they were transporting, so Anakin and Kuris, along with Rex and a few clones, decide to infiltrate the base and rescue Ahsoka. Anakin, and now Kuris with the loss of his padawan, are very determined to prevent Grievous from killing Ahsoka.

They enter the base, where Anakin in his haste to save Ahsoka splits off from Kuris, who ultimately finds Grievous. They have their rematch, where Grievous taunts him about the loss of his padawan. This temporarily causes him to draw on the dark side. Before he can kill Grievous, the building shakes from the attack of Republic reinforcements, lead by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Kuris realizes he can't let the dark side control him, and as Anakin finally arrives, Kuris realizes he must sacrifice himself to save them both. Grievous ultimately flees, but he is satisfied that he has added two more lightsabers to his collection.

What do you guys think? Any input is welcome.

P.S. I really don't know if this is the proper thread for this, but I didn't think I should make a new thread for it.

I don't know where to put this but i guess that it counts that i used my claws to make this.
Ok so like i said. The only clone wars fans i know are young than me by at least 5 years. I have a 7 year old bro and his friends (7 and 5) who had a phase where all they wanted to do was do coloring pages. Well they were begging their mom for a "Death watch" coloring page and their is no such thing SO i made one myself for them.
Death watch coloring page.
So let your kids color it in (please share if they do.) or do it yourself (also share
)

That's a good story you have here.
Some notes:
- I suppose the more powerful the bond between Kuris and his padawan will be, the more tragic the padawan's loss will appear.
- Maybe Kuris and his padawan could be on the verge of discovering something is amiss in the GAR. Maybe they stumble on hard evidence (a data chip? a fragmentary communication?) that someone they can almost identify is in league with a Sith Lord in the senate. But then your story kicks off, and before they have the chance to study this evidence, they are swept away
- Maybe you could "humanize" Grievous somewhat during his duel(s). What if Kuris or his padawan say something that reminds Grievous of something he was, or wishes he still were? That would enrage him for sure
- It would be interesting to see what happens on a republic fleet without his Jedi generals. I'm not sure TCW addresses this, but there's this concept of "battle meditation" where a Jedi could inspire the ones around him/her in battle situation. Maybe the story could show this?

Plenty of potential stuff in your first draft

First off thanks for your comments!

I really like the idea of using battle meditation in the big space battle above the planet. It gives Grievous another reason to board the Star Destroyer, to break the meditation. That would turn the tide of the fight and lead to the defeat of the Republic fleet. Genius!

As for humanizing Grievous, I certainly am gong to dive into his character in this story, and getting into his head during the two duels will certainly happen. I personally like the visionaries comic that tells the backstory of Grievous, and I will be referencing that.

I also like the Sith story, but I don't think I'll be able to fit that into my story. I want to keep their role in the war up to the battle with Grievous very small, it's Kuris's way of going on the "Hero's Journey". He goes from escort duty and seeing no fighting to battling the seps greatest general by the end of the story.

I'll be sure to mention you in the beginning of the story for helping me with this. Thanks again!

Re: With those hands / claws / pincers / pseudopod

This is great, I think:
- Free
- Fun
- Easy to learn

The origin is a solo game called "Zombie in my pocket"
It's a free downloadable P&P (pen & paper) game, with simple but clever rules, chance but not total randomness.
I played (and liked) the "zombie" original version

And what do you know, there is a SW adaptation (and an "Aliens" one too ... Oh joy
)

This one could go to the CV thread, but being a craft in its own right, I figured this was the best place anyway.

It's still work in progress, but here's my current project: a CV "infinite map"

Here are a few pics of the first prototype; much of the contents will change, but it will work the same way.
It is a 10x10cm (about 4 inches) square, which you open to reveal the next panel of information.
There are four panels

You start off with panel one, which will contain a floor plan of the convention center, with numbered booths or locations.
Once you "open" this panel, you reveal panel two, which contains the list of all booths and map locations, with a description.
Unfold again, and the third panel will reveal events for the first two days of CV.
You guessed it, unfolding again is the way to display panel four, with the last two days of CV.

Oh, and if you unfold once more, you are transported back to panel one (hence the "infinite" map)

As I said before, the map is not finalized yet, but as soon as it is, I'll post a pdf and instructions here, in case you want to build your own!

A few thoughts about the "CV infinite map"
  • I'm not sure there will be enough room to fit all events.
Which means I'll have to customize my map, with the events I really want to go to
If you guys are interested in this map, you can send me your list of events, and I'll generate a map just for you

Btw, this list of events final?
  • I'm going to draw my own floor plan of the west concourse's west wing ... so that it's easier to read than the pic I'm using in the prototype
  • Does anybody know it this exhibitors list is final?

Here's version 2 of the map:
  • I overlayed the map with colors, showing the booths actually used by CV
  • In the list, each exhibitor is associated to a color, indicating what area they are located in
  • I put events that were actually announced ... maybe I missed some. Is there a date for the opening ceremony (the one that is strangely not starting CV, if I understood correctly
    )

Here is what it looks like:

And the bigger versions ...
Panel 1
panel 2
panel 3
panel 4

Almost there ... I will post a link to a pdf version + instructions soon

Looking very, very good! You should probably wait a bit on the definitive version; the final schedule should come out within the next few weeks.

Re: With those hands / claws / pincers / pseudopod

For FC fans carrying around this ingenious map, the most heard comment of the four days will be, "Where did ya get that, that's awesome" by envious onlookers. Thanks for making it. Can't wait to print it.

BTW Flavien I for one don't know how firm those current listings are.

I think if I had a top five for events they'd be;
1. GL live
2. Dave Filoni on panel(s)
3. Ralph Art work
4. Any venue with Sound and picture editors, writers or directors of photography.
5. Movie Props.

All this is secondary to meeting up with Forceasters however.
So the Shua FC Fans extravaganza is order of business #1.

Re: With those hands / claws / pincers / pseudopod

For the moment, officially announced events all fit in the map's few square inches ...

Should this continue, I'll be able to provide a single map with all events

And by the way, the map is also user-customizable:
- there is a small blank area where you can make notes in the agenda section
- still in the agenda, you might highlight the events at your convenience
- the booths map supports manual overlays (you can circle a booth, cross out which ones you've visited)

100% biodegradable, lightweight, battery-free, recyclable as a bookmark, or a coaster ... a technological wonder, I tell you

This looks awesome! I don't often drop into this thread, but I'm glad I did this time
I've saved the link and will definitely be printing all this out when I start preparing for the trip!

Great work, thanks!

The list of Exhibitors seems to fluctuate radically as they reassign booths for different groups. In the months I've been watching it for our pages, I've made 5 separate downloads, all had changes. Probably won't come close to finalizing until Aug 1

Hi there,

CV draws nearer each second, and with the official list of events having been posted a few days ago, I updated my "Infinite Map"

<font color="blue">Features<font color="black">
- Full list of exhibitors, broken down in 4 color categories for easy reference on the map
- Map contains hall A and part of hall B, with arrows pointing to interesting locations. The 4 colors used for booths are those used in the exhibitors list
- The events flaps display in the upper and lower part the events taking place every day, next to the location between square brackets
- There is also a selection of events on each day sub-flap.
I still have to refine these and put the events I actually am going to attend to.
If you guys are interested, please tell me and I can personalize the days for you

<font color="blue">Instructions<font color="black">

PDF version of the map
- Print the map (one page needed)
- Cut out along the green lines
- You will end up with two rectangles
- Fold and glue carefully each rectangle so that you have two squares
- Cut out along the red lines
- You should now have four smaller rectangles
- Place the two rectangles (Thursday and Friday) face up, next to another, on a flat surface, so that Thursday is on the left, Friday on the right
- On these rectangles, apply glue on the four squares labeled "Glue A", "Glue B", "Glue C", "Glue D"
- Take the remaining two rectangles (the ones with the exhibitors list). They also have "Glue" squares on them.
Place them on the ones on the table, so that each "Glue" square is glued to a square with the same letter
- Important You must adjust the rectangles so that they don't overlap.
- Once everything is dried, you should have some trimming to do. Just open each flap of the map, and cut out just enough paper so that you can unfold the map smoothly (some Billy Dee might come in handy at this point)

There ... This might not be the final map, but almost.
And remember, if you need customized days on the map, just ask and I'll see what I can do

Oh, a French version ... I suppose that would make it twice as cryptic as it already is!
