Is it weird that I was literally just thinking about creating a thread like this? Lol great minds think alike I suppose!

Also, this is an excellent, really comprehensive post. You already dug up a few people I've been trying to identify for awhile (ie. my favorite pilot, who is evidently Billy J. Mitchell. I think it's just the mustache.)

Great work! I'll do a little digging and see if I can find anything else to add.

Here's a link you might find very useful:

More Star Wars

If you scroll down, there's a small shot of the rebel briefing scene in ANH with some associated actors. Not sure if any of them are our missing pilots.

Among them not mentioned yet are:

Ted Berg (doesn't look like he's a pilot)
Kelly Varney
Norton Clerk
Dave Holland (previously identified as Grondom Muse, part of the rebel ground crew)
David Paine
Bill Risley
Alan Troy

Oh, and as for ROTJ, I know John Altman is credited as a pilot but I can't recall who or which scene. According to that link, Larry Sheppard was also a rebel Y-Wing pilot in ROTJ. I think it corresponds to the third photo you have posted in the unidentified pilots section.

John Altman wasnt credited in the end credits of the film if thats what you mean? IIRC he had a very small walk on part just before/after the briefing scene, but im not 100% on that.

Mon Calamari A-Wing Pilot(Deleted Scene)
I'm 99.9% sure its Tim Rose. If you hear the person in the background giving directions he says Tim and it also sure sounds like him.

I can confirm that Vivienne died earlier this year.

As to other pilots identities, the pilot labelled as Kessin Ommis is actually a pic of John Morton and the Mon Cal Pilot from the cutscene was played by Tim Rose and Simon Williamson.

The guy on the right of the 3rd "random pilots" pic in the grey flight suit is Larry Sheppard

The pic of John Altman is a photoshop job, his head on Luke's body. As far as I know nobody has ever found a pic of him in costume.

The Jack Orris name is very suspect, I'm yet to see anything that convinces me that is correct, please share if you have a good source.

Sure, bud. :) Take it for what you will, there's a few people I have found a bit suspicious, too. Maybe I'm just being a bit paranoid? Nonetheless, I attached three different links for everyone to check out. :)

Here's a quick link to a site with his credit:

From the starwars autograph collecting facebook page:

"Ok this is a little late as I've only just found out but it's a really sad thing that Vivienne chandler seems to have passed away on June 8th
Vivienne played an x-wing pilot in Return of the Jedi and the one occasion that I met her she was really nice and spoke to me for a while about her role in the film
Another bright star gone from the Star Wars universe
R.I.P Vivienne a very sad loss"

That all basically comes from the same source, which is Sue Hooven. As far as I recall she bought the card on ebay and it was listed as being signed by that name and him having played that character. The avelyman site has just picked up that info off her website. I'll remain sceptical on this one until we have a better source.

That's very sad to hear that Vivienne passed away. For those who haven't seen it, there's a great interview with her here:
Vivienne Chandler | Dorovio Bold | Star Wars

Also, this is a pretty piffling detail in the grand scheme of things, but you have two Blue Sevens listed for ROTJ. From what I understand from Wookieepedia, Keyan Farlander was Blue 9 at Endor, while Blue 7 was Palso Thern. (Where they come up with all this never ceases to amaze me, lol)

Kesin Ommis (Rogue Four Gunner)

The pic you have is John Morton (Dak) he signed this for me and confirmed it is him, at C5 a couple of years ago. So not sure if that name you used is right, I always took it that it was Dak minus his helmet.

Richard Bonehill identifies himself as an X-Wing Pilot from ROTJ. No idea which one, but someone else might know.

Are there any characters Bonehill claims NOT to have been?:hmm:
Haha, I was actually thinking the same thing. However, he does have photographic proof for quite a few of them, for instance as a Hoth Rebel Trooper and Snowtrooper. I'll shoot him an email seeing if he can identify himself specifically as a few of the other characters.

Oh yeah, I don't doubt his involvement in the movies but at every new con he seems to up his character list. Just makes me laugh.

Bonehill's pilot is in the ROJ briefing room and you can clearly see it's him. Same costume as Nien Nunb, just different shots.

Jedi News - Latest: RIP Lynne Hazelden (though reports 4th December)

R.I.P Lynne, looking at some other links, she sounded a true inspiration and a fighter to the very end.
