about to set out collecting the whole of last year's range, was wondering if there were any rare pieces I should be looking out for before they rise in value too much,or in case I come accross them here in the UK.Also any rare pieces from the few yars before that ??I stopped collecting about 2003 and am working my way back now.
THANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR REPLIES,I WAS ALSO WONDERING ABOUT THE VEHICLES AND BATTLE PACKS ETC,AS WELL AS THE FIGURES IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT THEM TOO

I saw Malak, Revan, the McQuarrie figs, and even the Darktrooper multiple times. However, I only saw the Mustafarian Lava Miner once, so I vote for him.

i think we actually did the math with this late last year by case asst's ad ratios. Could be wrong but NOT counting coinless re-releases i thnk the McQuarrie trooper was the least produced and the McQuarrie Fett was the most produced.

Smuggler Lando and General McQuarrie.

EDIT: I also like Revan, but I prefer him well-done, not rare.

Revan
Malak
Pre-Cy Grievous
McBoba
Jawa
McStarkiller (only saw him/her once, purchased it)
Blackhole Stormie (only saw him/her once, purchased it)
Utapau Clone (only saw him/her once, purchased it)
Spec. Ops Clone (only saw him/her once, purchased it)

The rest seem to be/have been around my area in huge, if not, pretty good numbers.

I only saw the Jawa twice and both times the pacake was crushed, Saw the Voolvif Moon once never saw the Snowtrooper, the mc stormtrooper, the above mentioned I saw either once and purchased

malak, revan, and both grievous' sell for a decent amount on ebay. i personally have never even seen pre cyborg grievous or malak/revan

Depends on who you ask. For any figure you list, someone else will swear they've seen 400 and that they're pegwarming the shelves.

Personally, I never saw Malak, Revan, Pre-Cyborg Grievous, and many of the McQuarrie figures.

Last wave of Legends and McQ Rebel Trooper and McQ Han, some of the variants in the Legends line were difficult too (AOTC clones, Imp officers and *&$%*@# pit droids)

hell you guus got it made in good ol USA,I was looking regularly in toyshops ,department stores and supermarkets here in the UK ,and we got maybe 15 different figures here, some sci-fi comic shops had aboiut 30-40 during the year, some of which were revan, malak and grievoous, andsome of the mcquarrie figs ,I will check and see if they still got em.thanks for the heads up on the figures-what about the vehicles??

the gunships. they are impossible to find and sell for over 75 bucks U.S. on ebay

I wouldn't say anything was overly rare at all, some items were harder to obtain but in most cases everything showed up at retail for awhile. Depends on the location as well, some places got more stock then others.

Yeah, I'd agree, as my "Rarest TAC Figs" are as follows:
McSnowie (NEVER saw him)
McStormie (NEVER saw him)
McRebel (I think I saw him once, but I'm not a fan of captain clamshell head)
Darth Revan (Saw his case assortment, but he was missing)
Yoda & Kybuck (Saw it only once, never again)
Neyo, Shadow Clone & Stormie, & Covert Ops Clone (saw their cases, but army builders nabbed them up before I could ever score any. Finally got a set though...save Neyo, Yellow O66 BARC Trooper > Neyo)

Stuff that was easy for me to obtain:
McSolo (saw him plenty of times, never wanted him)
McStarkiller (saw her a few times, never wanted her)
McBoba
CZ-4 (Was HTF originally)
R2-B1 (People told me they had trouble finding him)
EVO & Jump Stormies (Please....I got 3 of each on one run once, I always see these guys!)
BD Vader (I have now seen him like 6 times in stores!)
Gree (Again, slow at first, then easy to find)
K-Trooper (Scored 3 at a time usually...)

never saw in the wild: McStormtrooper -EVER
Revan
Malak
Pre-borg Grievous (once on the floor in a box, but that doesn't count!

newer TAC doubtful to see: SL Shadow Stormie
SL Covert ops trooper
SL Utapau Shadow trooper, wish all these weren't so htf!

I won't say these are extremely rare, but they aren't shipping anymore and they weren't easy to find: the UGH figures with the gold coin - Han, Luke, animated Boba, McBoba, McStormie, McChewie, Galactic Marine, Mace, R2-D2, Vader, pilot Biggs, and airborne trooper.

The rarest TAC figure is definitely the Canadian UGH McQuarrie Stormtrooper.

Aside from that, there are several figures that were released in large numbers, but because of high demand and spotty distribution, are a challenge for collectors to find:

McQuarrie Rebel Trooper
Darth Malek
Darth Revan
Pre-Cyborg Grievous
Jawa
Legends Dark Trooper
Mustafar Lava Miner

*Most of the McQuarrie figures are hard to find because of extrememly high demand.

McQuarrie Rebel Trooper

I saw the coin version once when I bought it and have never seen either the coin or stand version again.

Never saw Darth Revan, UGH McQuarrie Storrmtrooper, and have only seen Zev from the last Saga Legends Wave(as of today).

Saw lots of UGH McQuarrie Fetts at one point. Willing to trade one for Revan MOC or UGH McQuarrie Stormtrooper MOC.

I've seen most everything multiple times. The only things I've seen only once were the Neyo assortment and the UGH McQuarrie Stormtrooper.

I've only seen these one time in stores:
-Jawa & LIN droid
-Revan
-Neyo
-Utapau Shadow Trooper (fan's choice w/blk. coin)
-Blackhole Storm Trooper (fan's choice w/blk. coin)
-Dark Trooper (w/gold coin)
-McQuarrie Han Solo
-McQuarrie Chewbacca

These I saw twice in stores:
-Malak
-Pre-Cyborg Grievous
-McQuarrie Rebel Trooper
-Lava Miner
-McQuarrie Starkiller
-McQuarrie Fett (gold coin)
-Animated Fett (gold coin)

And I saw these three or more times:
-Yoda & Kybuck
-Gree
-Kashyyyk Trooper
-McQuarrie Fett (silver coin)
-Animated Fett (silver coin)
-Airborne Trooper (gold coin)
-McQuarrie Darth

McQuarrie Storm Troopers & Snow Troopers were nowhere to be found in my area. Those are the only ones worth mentioning, besides the Shadow Guards which I have not found yet.

The only figure I only saw once(and thats when I got it) was the Darktrooper. I had some trouble finding a few other but they eventually arrived in large numbers.

now are some of these "rare" because people snag them for looks or popularity or do they literally make less of the revans etc?

Rarity seems to be regional, I've seen plenty of figures people claim to have never seen or seen once and have not seen some figures not even listed in this thread.

The Lava Miner.

I agree. Considering he was only in one or two assortments, he was rarest in that there were very few of him, and not that he was on the shelves, but the scalpers got to him first.

As for ships and battlepacks, none of them are really very rare. Almost all of them can be found within in a couple visits, if not right when you walk into a store. Really the only things that are hard to find are some of the basic figures and sometimes the evolution packs. I still haven't found Sith Legacy 2...

As far as never seen at all, I'd have to say the McQuarrie Starkiller Hero definitely for me, followed closely by the SBD from wave #1. Everything else you're wondering about (bar very recent stuff) I've seen in varying degrees of availability.

It's like the other guys said pretty much, it's relative to your area, but it's all been put out there at some time or another.

I thought it had been confirmed that the Lava Miner was "least shipped", only ever coming in that first Wave, first revision???

I also recall reading that the "least shipped" non-basic figure item was the Wal-Mart SoT comic pack.

And as has been said, based on your area depends on how much you think something is rare or not.

IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD!!!

Definitely the Lava Miner, McFett, McStormie, McStarkiller, McSnowie, McRebel, Darth Malak, Darth Revan, Darktrooper, and the latest Fan's Choice wave.

I know McFett and McStormie shipped several times (especially if you count UGH), that was just demand outweighing supply.

McSnowie was 2 per case in a case that many stores got WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much of, IMO.

Just some thoughts...

the rescent saga legends 2008 winners neyo, zev, spec ops trooper, and sahdow clone and sahdow stormie. i never saw it once and the yellow, red, blue clone trooper officers i never saw i olny saw the seargent a few times. so those were the rare tac toys of 07-08 in greenbay

i never saw the concept snowtrooper in my area. help from hasbrotoyshop.com was welcome.

Only saw Revan one time saw him at WalMart but did find a concept snowtrooper at HEB

I have pretty much seen everything from TAC last year and this year.Still looking for 2 figures for a buddy of mine. After that I am done. The McRebel was really not that hard to find for me.Without the stand that is a different story but last year I seen him about at least 8 times.

^ Neither did I, but then I stopped by a local Collectable Toy Store near my local Wal-Mart and found out why....
