That would have been me. I need the Ark w/ Indy and the last 6 figures to finish up the series. Also, if anyone finds the Mutt w/ motorcycle. I'm looking for 3 of them for my Dreadnoks to ride.

I had two more pics of the other figures but they came out fuzzy and morphed. I was there today after work and they still have two complete sets of this line, plus a few from the last crusade also.

If you go, they are in the back and to the left of the store. in the hygene section on an endcap by the frozen foods.
I went grocery shopping tonight at my local Smith's and foud an IJ stand with some figures. I picked 4 of the 6 figures but there was no Short Round or Willie Scott. I going to check another Smith's down the street but if someone could help me track these two down it would be appreciated.

TOHT 12" Figure
Speaking of Toht. Now that the IJ figures are rapped up. I remember there being rumors of a Toht 3 3/4" action figure. The SDCC Cobra Commander uses his body which is evidence this figure was to be made. Anybody care to shed light on this subject?

Taken from yojoe.com:
Body Construction:
Cobra Commander (version 33a) was created using all new molds. However, the body was originally developed for Toht from Hasbro's Indiana Jones line. The mold was also used to create Cobra Commander (version 33b).

I really didn't care for the HISS tank but I really wanted the Stinger.
Anybody know or hear about this?

Yeah, I'm probably way past due to drop in on one of the meet and greets. They always sound so fun but it seems like I'm always working or something!

Well the Hooters on W. Sahara has been closed down now for over 2 years...So it would have to be the Casino...The only other Hooters is at Sunset station (but I havent been inside Sunset Station since the HULK movie came out)...

Re: Forget this

Target on W. Flamingo, had 3x of each exclusive Animated Clone Wars battle packs (Yellow Clones w/Obi, Maroon Clones w/Yoda) $21.99 each. Passed on them, but they look alright...

They also had the GI Joe Utlimate Battle Set at a wopping $63.99...I wanted it, but not at that price...So instead I picked up Call of Duty: World at War...Very fun WWII game.
If any of you play, hit me up...Me and JediHunter play all the time...

Another comic book store

Not sure if anyone knew it but, Dreamwell Comics on Charleston is out of business
. I went there tonight hoping to score a KOTOR comic that I missed last week at Comic Oasis, and found the store empty. I spoke with the guys in the guitar store next door, and they said the owners of Dreamwell packed up and moved to Florida
.

First Comics, Cards, and Collectibles at 700 w. Sahara, and now these guys. WTF is going on man. The economy must be really bad. I have a feeling Underground Comics might be next. I remember the owner (Steve) talking...well, really almost [censored]
how rough it is for him to stay in business. That was about three months ago. Wonder how he's doing?

Not sure if its the economy...but I think it has to do with EBAY and on-line retailers making it easier to get items, (on EBAY/online you can score a Gentle Giant bust for 15-40% less than retail, but comic stores need to charge retail or even high than retail)......

I used to go to Dark Tower Comics on (W. Sahara) and let me say that I hated going there, because the manager was a jerk, the atmosphere sucked, high prices on high end items but now since there out of business, I do miss that extra option for comic & SW items...I do go to maximium comics on Ft. Apache/Tropicana, and Jay is a great owner, but his GG items are retail prices, so needless to say I dont buy GG from him.

The original owner of Dreamwell sold the store to a guy that used to work with me. That orginal owner had the store for around 20 years, which is a great run for a comic store in this town. He sold it to the guy I know, but all I've heard so far was they were behind on the rent. I have another guy I work with who has more details, but he's on vacation right now, so I'll hear more later...

About comic store prices... I too have gone online for anything retailing above $20 since the online retailers will smash any retail prices. Even with the discount I get from my comic store, it's cheaper to buy higher ticket books at Amazon or wherever and get 40% off. The mere fact I (or we) can still afford comics and SW stuff in this economy makes us very lucky. Regardless of my online shopping, Alternate Reality still gets at least $20 a week from me, and the store still does great. As comic fans, we have to have the new releases as soon and they're released, we're just junkies that way!

Actually quite a few local buisiness are leaving las vegas...or already left. But like most said, you can find the stuff much cheaper online. It could be also because Vegas is foreclosure USA.

Well got my Airborne Trooper today...His hand in fist form, screams FIGHT THE POWER!!! The A.T. doesnt come with any other weapons or removable parts, so he is very solid, his head is casted to the rest of his body, unlike all the other clones with removable heads...Very nice bust, IMO..

Re: Happy Thanksgiving!!!

On my way to get a paper this morning I stopped at that Battlezone place. It's right next to the Game Stop or EB Games I think it's called. Looks cool. Store was closed but I saw some s/w figures and some gg busts by the register.

I also grabbed a Darth Revan Mighty Mug at the Walmart on Tropical. He looks bad a**!

Yes, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I've also heard about Battlezone but still need to stop by. They must be doing a decent job of getting the word out that they are around.

I too have known Tim and Don for a long time (16 years) and they were the very 1st shop I went to when I got here 2 Vegas.

In fact a few years back the Las Vegas New Times (which became the Las Vegas Mercury and finally Las Vegas City Life) and they were doing an article on Comic Book Shops and snapped a nice pic of yours truely

And although I got out of regular collecting after the Knightfall/Knight Quest/Knight's End saga from DC, I occassionally stopped by or called to say hello to the brothers, so I feel bad for them

I have seen shops come and go over the last 16 years (Sin City Comics, Dungeon Comics (shown in Cool World), the shop on Valley View and Charleston, The Spider's Web (catty-cornered from Dreamwell Comics) Kool Kollectables and about a 1/2 dozen or so short timers (less than 2 years) who jumped on the "hot comics" bandwagon only to be killed by the fickleness of the flux (e.g.-"The Death of Superman" Superman-vol 2 #75 Black bagged version top $$ 250.00 not 6 months L8R worth maybe $25.00-and in a Star Wars releated bit Garrick Hagon (Biggs) played Jonathan Kent in an audio adaptaion of The Death of Superman comic
)

Spence?:>}
P.S.-Yes, I own the entire "Death of Superman" saga-1 page previews and all, through the "Reign of the Supermen", the spin-off "Emerald Twilight" and it's spin-off "Zero Hour".

Anyone go shopping???
Tried to stop by a few stores late in the day but everything I saw was just thrown all over the floor. Didn't really even see any sales but I figured all the good stuff was going on early in the morning.

local toy sale December 6-7

Guys, I know I don't post here much, but it seems to be the highest concentration of collectors out of all the boards I belong to.

We're having a garage sale next weekend, and I'm going to put a lot of toys up for sale since I got laid off recently. There will be a little of everything from Star Wars (all eras) to GI Joe to Transformers to Muppets to roleplaying stuff, so if you've got specific items you're looking for, hit me up with a message.

If you just want to browse, it's going to be at 697 Mineral Hill Lane in Henderson on Saturday and Sunday from 7-4.

Wouldn't mind meeting some more local collectors, since most of the guys I know here are GI Joe collectors. However, it looks like you guys are putting a meet together, so I understand if it's a bad weekend.

Drop me a line if you need directions or have any questions.
Thanks!
