Hey all! I'm a Michigan Scummer and will be making my first trip to Vegas next weekend and was wondering if there were any good SW collectibles stores out there. I primarily collect Gentle Giant and Master Replicas/efx, but also Hasbro stuff. If someone could give me the scoop on that as well as preferred attractions, it would be greatly appreciated!
I think Comic Oasis has the biggest selection of GG stuff and figures in general. So you might wanna stop there? You could always google the comic shops in Vegas and report back your findings

Re: Thanks!!

I want to know what your [censored] was.

Havent been up to much myself. Protecting the good citizens of Las Vegas and sleeping mostly. Been ebaying a bunch of stuff made enough to pay for my commandos, yak face, and new fett maquette. That's just about the only good thing about GG being so far behind. It gives me time to sell stuff to pay for it before it comes out.

Other than that, playing Xbox is how I kill my time. Bioshock 2 is coming out in a couple weeks, looking forward to that.

You remember the time I got suspended? I didn't even know we had mods in here to even rat me out. Unless I was ratted out, by persons who haven't posted here in forever. But yeah, it's family oriented. Unless you badmouth Gentle Giant, then you get a nice lil suspension too.

Re: Thanks!!

Seems like we always have a dry period on here - well still not much to talk about - maybe once my 3 new managers start and our new director... I might have a life again. Work is about all I get to talk about these days... that and the occasional trip to the gun range. Any other topics are welcome, but probably won't know much... trying to keep an eye on the 1/4 Sideshow news, but that is about it.

Same here...I love alot of the 'future' items from Sideshow...talks of PF Stormtrooper, C-3PO/R2 PF, a Sith Lord PF (I hope its the Emperor)...Dooku is on its way, with the Clone Trooper/Yoda PF coming in March...Great stuff.

What's up with all this rain??? Its great that its been raining, very very much needed...
I'm mostly loving it. I've always liked the rain, moreso in the summer though. Kinda nice that we've gotten over half of our yearly rainfall in just the past couple weeks though. So long as there isn't any flooding that is.

Re: Sideshow Rocks..

Kinda funny how Hasbro went from no C5 exclusive to 2. I thought they didn't have time to plan for it. LIARS!!! I am kinda feeling the Vintage collection this year. I might just pick it up.

How was that day the 30th anniversary? The release date was in May, '80.

Jaq, I chuckled when I read you got scolded again! Such a bad boy!

I've been heavily investing time (and a few $$) going after these Lost prints, so I've been neglecting SW. I cancelled several SS orders in an attempt to deal with the wife's lack of employment. Still getting the Vader 1:1

Hasbro's stuff looks okay, but those Vintage are the shiznitz! I'll be buying doubles to get the mail away Fett. So much for being concerned the wife is out of work!

Is anyone going to CV? I'm actually interested in both the CV and the SDCC exclusives. Wonder how limited they mean in the Hasbro press material...

If anyone here or you know of anyone who wants to sell the Eric Tan Indy prints from Acme, send 'em my way.

Just saying hi, I'm a fellow Vegas area collector. Although I stopped collecting Sideshow items awhile back I may have to keep an eye out for that Boba Fett bust. That look amazing.

Re: Sideshow does it again...

Thanks for the welcome!! I mainly collect Gentle Giant busts and the occasional statue or maquette. I Also collect 1st prints of the hardcover novels. I used to be into the Hasbro stuff hut it got old seeing the same figure recarded and sold over and over. Everytime I'm at the store I look at that stuff though. I'm actually going to try to sell my Hasbro collection soon.
Anyway, it's good to be here and I look forward to talking with you guys.

That is a pretty sweet setup, I wish I had the room to do something like that. Sadly most of my stuff still sits in their cardboard and styofoam prisions. I used to be heavy into Sideshow stuff but I had to pick what I liked more and GG won out. I had the first 12-15 12" figures but sold them off awhile back. I kinda wish I'd have picked up some of yhe dio's though.

Re: Sideshow does it again...

On an unrealted note, kinda, the very bad [censored] Sculpting a Galaxy Deluxe Edition, with a retail of $400, is on sale for right around $80 from Amazon. I can't stress what a great item this is and at $80, it's a flippin' steal!!

At SDCC last year I ordered the Electric Tiki/ Sideshow distributed Shadow statue. Now when I did the order, I ordered the exclusive, but when it converted to SS's system, they input the regular version and I never caught the mistake. The statue shows up and I'm surprised by the regular edition and I can't find my hardcopy of the order from SDCC. I emailed them, they got back to me the NEXT DAY and said they pulled their hardcopy of the order and I had indeed ordered the exclusive. Two days later I had the RMA and Saturday I shipped it off, postage paid by SS. They received the statue back yesterday, and today they shipped my exclusive version.
I cannot praise SS enough for so quickly rectifying this situation and getting me a replacement statue. Thanks, SS! you so rock over other gentler, and gianter collectible companies.

Re: Sideshow does it again...

Just a heads up...

Kmart has the Turbo Tank on Clearance for $80(regular price $100).

I found 6 at the Kmart in Henderson and put 1 on layaway for my kids Xmas present(getting started early
).

Thats $130 combined I spent total on the AT-TE($50) and Turbo Tank($80).

Hopefully I can nab the new AT-At for my kids cheap like these

I got lazy with the BMG Flacon at TRU for $75 thinking I could wait an extra week....but 2 out of 3 aint bad
