Pricey I know but I'm thinking of biting the bullet to get the thing!

Won't say price is no object but I've got an idea of what I'd be prepared to spend and an appropriate budget.

Great to see that Gus & Duncan will be attending the UK. Seriously tempted by the Collectibles book. Anyone have a copy? Is it worth having?

Cheers. Always looked like a good read / reference book, and have been tempted before, but the shipping cost to the UK killed it for me. £35 is still a lot for me to pay for a book, but I'm going to try and order one, although will have to wait until Mid November before doing so. I've emailed Dave to see if this is ok?

I'm unable to attend the event, so will have to have it posted. Hopefully the postage will not be too much, I know the book is around 3kgs.

Hi there,

some of the UK members may have made the last show back in September, which is the first of hopefully many events dedicated to Star Wars vintage collectables.
The next show has been announced for Sunday 2nd of December 2012 with two very special guests, Gus Lopez & Duncan Jenkins.

Heading for the the UK for their first ever booking signing (copies of all three books are available for pre-order here: Special Guests: Gus Lopez & Duncan Jenkins | All The Cool Stuff pre-ording is encouraged to help estimate numbers of books to ship)

There will also be a fine range of vintage dealers as well as artist Carl Riley returning with Star Wars Insider writers Mark Newbold and James Burns.
Number 5-8 of the Fartherst From Trading Card set will be available too as well as afew other nice little surprises to be announced soon.

At the last show there were panels and presentations held throughout the day, more details will follow but the first panel announced is "The Influence Of Star Wars On Palitoy's Action Force Toyline" giving collectors a rare opportunity to learn about a side of Palitoy that is overlooked by Star Wars collectors.

Gallery of the last event:

Hope to see as many of you there http://www.farthestfrom.com

All the best,
Dave

I can't wait for the event! Counting the days... We plan to bring all 3 of our books (Price Guide, Prototypes, Cast & Crew), so those who have wanted them but the international shipping was too high, please let Dave know so we can get an accurate count.

You heard the man folks, please, please, please let me know if you are interested in a copy of any of the titles, we don't want folk to be disappointed, so please let me know :)

Some nice coverage in this months Collectors Gazette Magazine:

We also have some awesome presentation news to add for the day. "Vintage Star Wars Special Action Figure Sets" with Chris Caswell will take each of us on a show and tell on this particular area for collecting, showcasing some of the pieces from his fantastic collection.

The User Contributed Display theme will be a seasonal one, "Star Wars At Christmas", so get your thinking caps on to what YOU can contribute from your collection for the day. The connection could be anything, as long as there is a story or connection to the piece you display, so it could be something from your childhood that you got for Christmas for example. So to avoid a dozen copies of The Star Wars Christmas Album, it could be your anything as long as there is some tie in to Star Wars and Christmas :)

It was a great day made very special with the inclusion of Gus & Duncan.

The talks were superb and there were some great vintage items up for grabs by some of the traders.
Big thanks to Gus, Duncan and Chris Caswell, as well as the team who helped out, Wayne, Carol, Dean, Catherine and Chloe.

I hope that all who made it enjoyed the day and got something out of it in one form or another.

The next one will be in a few months, would be great to see more and more of the vintage collecting community participate, so don't hesitate to drop me a line at sales@allthecoolstuff.co.uk to get involved :)

3 currently booked, but not being handled by me personally. David, the guy who is booking them is away at the moment. I'll ask him when he gets back. It won't be many, maybe one or two more, due to the hotel's capacity limitations.

Join us in celebration of Star Wars Vintage Toys at Farthest From, the UK Star Wars vintage toy show on Sunday 24th March.

In addition to the great selection of dedicated vintage toy dealers, we have some great features to look forward to, including X-Wing Miniatures Game Demonstations in association with Fantasy Flight Games. Join the Rebellion or sign up to the ranks of the Imperial Navy and learn to play the table top game for free.

Product Showcase - X-Wing Miniatures Game Demonstations | All The Cool Stuff
Plus join in with the User Contributed Display. The theme for the next show is: "Star Wars in the 90's".
Some consider the early 90's as the dark times for Star Wars collecting, but there were many things laying the foundations of a comeback, comics, books, video games and toys all kept the spirit alive. This User Contributed Display looks back at the things that captured our interest back then, it might only feel like yesterday to some, and this period of collecting is still considered within the modern era, despite being 20 years ago.

Attend, grow your knowledge and take part in the following Collector Panels:

Current Presentation Schedule for Farthest From III
12.00 Jedi News Panel
13.00 Roll Out Roll Call 2013 Update
14.00 Presentation: 'Collecting Star Wars in the 90's. Life without the internet'

For all the details on the show please visit: Features & Presentations | All The Cool Stuff or join our Facebook page: Farthest From, The UK Star Wars Retro Toy Show - Fordingbridge, United Kingdom - Event | Facebook

Tried to attend the Wrexham comic conn today. I, along with a few THOUSAND others were left stuck outside for hours on end due to a complete lack of coordination and underestimating the amount of people who wanted to attend. THE WORST convention I have ever set foot near.

You were lucky. Too many people attended and they hadn't anticipated the demand. People queuing for 5 hours outside. The venue was far too small for the quality of guests. We never got in as it started to rain and my little lad was becoming restless. We were waiting well over 2 hours and were still roughly 1000 people from the front. Farce :(
