Not good... we had a bit of a problem last year with Corsham Scifi... but processed people within about 30mins..

this year we changed venue and barely advertised... still sold out of tickets and last week Anthony head confirmed as a guest. total legend he appeared for free 10:30 -12 and gave all his automoney to charity..

Brian Muir and Brian Wheeler were superb guests and really enjoyed the show along with Anjili Mohindra ad Mike Collins.

Richard LeParmentier was our groups president and we did something in his honour... vid coming soon..

we raised £6,800 for charity and had a nice busy day.

Its a shame that wrexham didnt get the right balance but its a tough one to gauge.

The Wrexham show was exactly the same last year - they had a great guest list but the size of the venue was nowhere near big enough for the crowd of people they attracted. I was lucky as I had bought an early bird ticket but there was a massive queue as I left after getting the sigs I needed. Its a shame as its a great show but they really need to consider getting a bigger venue for this.

Back from two days at collectormania & not one dealer selling anything remotely new on an sw action figure front. Depressing. Saved me a whole load of cash though, I guess!

Did meet Denis Lawson, Kenny Baker, Glyn Baker & Oliver Ford Davies though for poster & canvas sigs!

London Expo/comicon Well I was there for the diamond retailer summit where a whole bunch of UK retailers get toosee presentations from diamond and pblishers about whats coming up and big Q+A sessions etc.. then got free pass to the show or the weekend

WOW never seen a |UK show so damn busy.. b ut yes not a collectors show at all its at least 50% manga and anime cosplayers all interested in posing and not spending.

finally got too meet paul @order 66 and had a bit of a chat
also met up with Dave Tree - all the Cool stuff
Nick - Toys and Games
Nick Roach - 3Darths
Dave Ross - from Star Toys yes he is back on the scene
Rich Grimshaw from way back when..

main consensus is hasbro have destroyed the SW figures market at the moment and all dealers looking to other brands and products to make a living from.

Als met a guy from netherlands from CY3PJO.nl who is a part time toy dealer and had 2 tables of some mighty impressive vintage SW stuff in Ewok battle wagon, imp shuttle, boxed droids awing and many other lovely vintage items that you rarely see along with some nice modern stuffs.. asked if he was doing SWCE2 he said no as booth space was so expensive 1000 Euro for one table. ouch.

Isn't their target audience more into manga, glomping and TV panels, etc?

Shame you guys aren't going to be present in MK :(
hmmmm there's a very good reason why one show was chosen over the other.

I would loved to have done both shows had they not been set up competing each other, but a choice had to be made.

hi all, long shot but was wondering of anyone has any early bird tickets for the Manchester comic-con on Saturday that they would like to sell on. Stupidly I left it too late to book and they've sold out. I'm looking for 2 if anyone can help, happy to pay full price and will happily throw a collectable in there too if anyone is kind enough to help. Thanks :)

Mancini Pictures want to interview fans who have collected these incredible toys, to find out why they still mean so much to us 35+ years later, and why the interest in vintage Star Wars memorabilia continues to grow.

Also if you have an item to illustrate your story, your favorite life long action figure perhaps?, then please bring that item, or items, along with you, as they would love to feature it in the film. Farthest From was very good. I resisted the urge to restart a vintage collection (apart from a Han Solo palitoy card Fridge magnet haha!) but the talks, esp Richard and Grant's were very good. Mark was good too and his enthusiasm shone through but perhaps had a bit too much crossover with the previous Marvel comic presentation from Grant.

thanks for putting it all on Dave.
