Preordered 2 of these for the dog. Not sure yet what I’ll do with the spare Tuskenette.

If only that's how it actually worked...

What has me curious about the Tusken is if that head wrapping will be easily removable and be able to have a regular Tusken head underneath, or if it will require some modding. Also want to see a shot of those legs uncovered!

By the time this actually gets stocked I may wind up talking myself into buying it, that Massiff is growing on me every time I see it!

Yeah, every time I check out the pics, I get weaker. I PO'd the single Tusken and even having a second one wouldn't be so bad, but it's the Massif that makes me want this set.

No, I’m pretty sure it’s the same sculpt.

Do you mean same sculpt for the creature or same sculpt for Rey/Tusken Warrior? Either way you're wrong. The creature is 100% new and the Warrior definitely shares parts with Rey but has a fair amount of newness.

Based on this post, guess which figure I’m talking about.

And I’m not wrong. That’s the same torso, arms, and hands.

That's obvious though and was made clear by Hasbro within 2 hours of the figure being revealed. I thought you were referring to the either the creature or the Warrior being 100% Rey.

Keeping the single release MOC, and will open the two target exclusives so I have a pack of dogs. Anyone think the extra Tuskenette can be used as a base for a Dark Side Rey from TROS?

maybe we'll get a release date from target.com orders soon...LOL

It's still about three months away though, just like all the other "arriving to warehouse" announcements. I understand if other people want this news but the only news I care about is "IN STOCK" for ordering. lol

Not to take away from what Etain does because the work done in keeping people informed is welcome and helpful! ;)

usually it is about 3 months out like you say, but for some reason, i'm thinking the same info for Vader wave was not 3 month ago, maybe half that, but I cant find that info atm. EDIT- found info for Piett wave, it was dated 4/26 for the solids,so those got out fast to some sites

When target first sent out notices that luke/grogu was 7/23 then less than a week later, updated to 0ct., i wondered if the orig july approx. was actually for this set. Timing would make more sense than Luke/grogu.

It's usually closer to two months on average, sometimes sooner, sometimes later.

I know a lot people like to know where things are in the supply chain. Especially in the era where release dates are either non-existent when POing or insanely far in the future. Both make it extremely difficult to budget.

Thanks should properly go to Yakface, though. I just pass on the information since I track it myself to help my budgeting and for other old fogies that don't do the social media. 👴

^ Yeah I know but I don't frequent Yakface very often at all so it is nice to get those updates here as I also do not engage in social media.

I just wish that Target would ship the latest Vintage Boba Fett! Because I have a feeling some new repaint is going to be revealed before we even have those two in hand. lol
I also want to get it so that I know whether I have to replace it due to damage before it completely sells through.

^the only repaint should be the black armored comic fett that tbs got. ...and target was rumored to be getting a single excl, "circleville" but that changed snd codename is now dead. But "circleville"'s identity could show up elsewhere, maybe now it's the sdcc excl,?? but obviously, now w/ a new codename. Nien Nunb recieved a new codename and I'm sure logray, bespin leia and dengar, if released, will also get new codenames.

Rule of thumb....grab a target or wm excl if u see it b4 online ships, you can always return 1 to store w/in 90 days or just cancel online preorder w/o affecting rest of order in most cases. Or offer extra to a scummer here.

I kind of like it, the neck anyways. And the working jaw is neat too, but I really would have liked more articulation in the feet. I mean what's the point in shoulders if the ankles and elbow area are fixed? Even if you were to position them differently they wouldn't line up well for standing.

So you really only have one pose option. Now I get it that this is all they could do with the tooling budget available, especially by packing it in with reuse of a 6-7 year old sculpt, but I wished that they could have gone for the fences just a little bit more.

I do like the new Massiff, and I'm a fan of the creative parts use on the Warrior. But when a small company like Marauder Inc incorporated great articulation with their dogs (half the price of this deluxe set!), I'm surprised Hasbro couldn't at least get ankles on the Massiff. Nice work on the head, but the body feels more like a 5POA pack-in, like the Corellian hound. Even with inflation, that set was a better deal with an exclusive figure, kennel, and leash. Even if they'd just thrown a typical Tusken cycler in this set, it'd feel a little more deluxe.

I wouldn't mind if they revisited the Massiff with increased articulation at some point, nothing saying there can't be various versions. Probably would have to be a higher MSRP than the current DLX though, and likely not include a figure. But would that even be marketable?
Or do they create a new SKU closer to $35-40 price point for a figure with "more articulated" beast?

I agree, and while Marauder doesn't have a huge Licensing fee for a "dog" like there is for SW items, they do knock it out of the park with sculpting, deco and articulation and I'd have loved to see a similar approach with the Massiff!

So if Marauders can do it at $13 perhaps Hasbro would be able to charge $35 for a new Massiff with Tusken repack/repaint at some point.

Funny I used one of those from Marauder and transformed it into a TLJ Vulptix 😄

So hopefully there’s an end in sight to the Target preorder charge appearing, disappearing, appearing, disappearing etc. I wish they’d just charge when they ship. I’m not preordering from them again, it drives me nuts

Or you could remain blissfully unaware by not having the linked CC with "alerts" activated for such a small amount, like I do. After getting these damn near weekly notifications I stopped using any cads where I have alerts activated.

c'mon target give us a release date already....

There's been solutions to this posted ad nauseum. Red card, gift card, PayPal (although p.p. will have funds go in/out like a cc but at 30-day intervals instead of 10 to 14 days) plus some cc after a while red flag it and stop preauths and there's your automatic cancels w/o warning.
