It's a real downer when a new figure gets released and just as it gets released, some website comes out with a "these things need to be improved on this figure" article.
Ah, the never ending pursuit of "perfection". Which to be frank will never happen because one's idea of perfection can literally be the total opposite for another, and in those cases I'm glad those ideas aren't listened to. That said I don understand the dilemma of finally getting an all new updated figure that is toured as being the "ultimate version", only to realize it's subpar in your eyes. Case in point that
Jedi Luke that Depriest emphasized was one they could reissue till the cows come home. I thought it was horrible in almost ever way and was glad to have a new one in 2011. So I can see that viewpoint. Thing is that was ages ago and the figure sculpt have improved immensely since then meaning we rarely have that situation, but I'll also admit that they're not all improvement free.
As far as the dated figure issue with Din and Boba, I can see how that is something the hard core articulation fanatics would care about more than most. And even I who's not big on some of the joint utilized today feel the hinge hips aged out with Solo figures as they had already been around long time but used sparingly. So in that tiny instance I do agree because I do like the newer hips more, but I also don't need all those figures with them to be updated. They are simply a victim of their timing and we can enjoy them on all the new stuff. If they swap the hips out fine, it will be a nice change but I'm not clamoring for it because I feel older updates are far more important.
Lol in what universe does it makes sense that the Clone is packed x1 and the Andor x2
Well in Hasbro's defense we do now have the 4pks to turn to for army building and at a cheaper price that tracking down multiple singles. The question really is how long can a person wait for it? Even at 1X per case I don't see the Clone being that scarce, I mean they have to know that a brand new phase 2 sculpt is going to be popular. And surely the online shops will offer full cases of just the Clones?
This is one time where I think the price point on this could be justified. I just wonder now if this will preclude us from ever getting the Chieftain on a cardback.
Now that you mention it I have to agree, I was a bit unhappy with such an increase for basically repaints but this Tusken 4-pk is a very nice change from the norm!
I hope that it does mean more "diverse" sets of figures. While I do understand it's still basically the same figure repainted they did at least change out the torso and head on one to create the Chieftain. Then again the costs on that might be less that four unique head sculpt. lol I think where the increase comes from is the extra detailing and different colored SG's. That said part of me is a bit unnerved about having to get three other figures just to get the Chieftain, because I already bought plenty of Tuskens a while back.
This set makes me think they could totally do a Pyke 4-pk, two with helmets and two without then just cover an existing figure with various SG's. It also might mean they could do a proper Rebel Endor Soldier set using the short jacket for one or two, with one being Nik Sant, rather than all four being the same long coat version.
