I just got a call from a TRU Guest Relations Specialist. He apologized for the condition my item came in. He said he used to be a collector as well(TMNT) so he knew how frustrating it was to get something you intend to keep in great condition all mangled up. He said that a few years ago the Wearhouse changed the policy so that if there was one item in the order or if the items would fit in an envelope, they would ship it in an envelope. He agreed that that was a bad policy and said he would send this to the Wearhouse and petition to have the policy looked at to see why they can't switch to boxes for all orders as so many people have their products damaged by the current shipping policy. He said it could take a while to see any meaningful change, if it is changed. He also raised the 5% discount on my next order the guy gave me yesterday to 10%. He seemed like a nice guy and I hope he does what he said he was going to do, but in the end I don't know what effect this will have on their shipping policy in the future.bobafett1701 said:So I just received my order of the Lego Snow Trooper Army Pack. I wanted the Silver Lego Stormtrooper but I needed to order a Lego product to get it so I got this since it was cheap and kind of cool. I got it today in a thin manilla envelope and the box was basically crushed. I was going to open it and put it together anyway, but I am sick of either having to order enough items where they are forced to put it in a box or rolling the dice and hoping that my small order won't be mangled. I emailed them and since I have seen a number of other people have this issue I thought I would list the email I wrote:
I just received my order#xxxxxxxx and it arrived with the box basically crushed. I want to know why you are the only company I order action figures from that uses thin, unprotected manilla envelopes where there is basically no chance that the item will arrive to me in good condition. I basically only order from your site if there is an exclusive item or if there are enough items that I want where you will be forced to put it in a box. I know I am not the only one to complain, I view online forums and there are a significant number of people who order from you and receive their items in bad condition. I am a collector, so I want my product to be in as great shape as possible since I don't open most of the items I order. But forget that I am a collector. What if this was a gift for a niece/nephew? Am I supposed to present them with a mangled box and say "Happy Birthday"? You have seen all those USPS commercial that say "if it fits, it ships?" Why don't you use boxes for all of your orders like everyone else? I called up the phone number on my receipt and the nice gentleman offered to email me a return label so I could send it back and have a new one shipped to me, but I declined because a)I was going to open it anyway, b)I didn't want to go through the hassle of having to find a UPS store to send it back to you at and c)you are just going to send it to me in an unprotected envelope again so what is the point. You must be losing a ton of online sales from both collectors and non-collectors because unless you are ordering enough items where you have no choice but to box it, there are other options for us to use. The nice gentleman did say that for my next order I can call it in and reference this order number for a 5% discount, but I don't know if I will ever order from you again unless I have a large order. Or unless you come out from the dark ages and use boxes for all orders like every other online company does. I doubt anyone will listen to this, but I am trying in the vain hope that the next time I order something it will not be destroyed by your choice of shipping service.
I doubt anyone at TRU will listen or care, but I was in the mood to vent.
theres more important things, like Happy Birthday Yo! have a good onebikerscout said:ya dude, they seriously need to switch to boxes. They shipped my Pre vizsla in a padded mailer & he didn't arrive in great shape. I'll probably open eventually, but he looks so dang cool on the card
Why switch to boxes - take the toys out of the envelope and just slap a mailing label and postage on the toy box. No wonder more and more companies are having trouble - idiots making "executive" decisions..bikerscout said:ya dude, they seriously need to switch to boxes.
i hope you're being sarcastic. I meant putting items in a brown box instead of padded mailerCorvetteEB said:Why switch to boxes - take the toys out of the envelope and just slap a mailing label and postage on the toy box.
