Does anyone know if the Holo Grievous will be available if you order $30 online from TRU? Or do you have to go to an actual store on the 26th?

Heads up, the TRU website is holding four different sweepstakes on the site. Grand prizes are life-sized statues of Rex, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan and Anakin; First Prizes are a Video Pack, an AT-TE pack (AT-TE, 10 Clones and Droids, V-Wing and Homing Spider Droid, maybe something else :p,) a Millenium Falcon pack (a BMF and a TRU exclusive 2005 version,) and a custom LEGO Commander Cody.

Personally, I prefer the First Prizes.

Can anyone tell me why TRU in Canada feels no need to cater to Canadian collectors or Star Wars lovers in general??? No midnight madness listed anywhere in Canada, no mention of the new figures being released on the 26th and no contests for the lifesize figures (which you have to be a US citizen to enter). There was no mention of being able to buy the figures online at midnight either. This seems to be the same anytime new Star Wars figures are issued. There is a large demand up here, almost everytime I go to TRU only the pegwarmers are left, so why do they not put the same enthusiasm into the new releases??? I plan on driving to Buffalo for the MM (and pay the duties for bring my figures back to Canada)but I feel for the people that don't have the advantage of being close to the border. TRU needs to wake up and see that there are more markets than just the US and UK.

Each store should be getting up to 6 cases, 12x GG per case. But keep in mind, certain stores will get more.

TRU are doing the midnight madness here at some point in the near future, I wonder if they'll offer the Holo Grievous figure. Nothing has been mentioned just yet

Yeah July 31st
. I'm pritty sure they would offer the Holo Grievous since there is no real reason they wouldn't. Time will only tell I guess.

TRU.com now has the Holo Grievous available with a $30 purchase, or $9.99 by itself. I wish I had know that before I spent all that time hunting for it on Sat.

No, they aren't really anything to get too excited about. The idea is that they are harder to find and that collectors will "chase" after them. However it doesn't really compare to the UGH campaign from a year or so ago. I wouldn't get too concerned over it. The value of the 1st day figures isn't likely to be much greater than that of the regular figures.

Looks like Geoffrey went through and raised some of his TCW and Legacy prices on the web site. Figures are now $7.99, Titaniums $6.79 (I think they were $6.49). Are the figures still $6.99 in store?

Are you sure? We pay a 10% sales tax now here in Cook county Illinois (includes Chicago) which sucks and has affected my spending habits believe it or not.

Target was selling the new CW figures for $7.99 but have now lowered the price to $6.99

True.
But at every other Toys R Us store in NY, the price is $7.99.
Only at TRU Times Square are figures $8.99.
$1 higher than everywhere else.
If you buy as many figures as I do, that $1 adds up quick.

Actually California Sales tax is 8.25%

Aside that........

PRICES HAVE GONE UP AT TRU!!!!

I went to my local TRU today and found that all the Legacy and CW figures are now up to $7.99! The B-wing went from $34.99 to $39.99, as did other SW stuff.

WHAT THE HELL!

Sorry, but they just lost my business. Walmart and Target still have them for 6.99 (well WM is like 6.94 or something like that).

I won't go back to TRU until those prices come down.

I think even Wal-Mart and Target are going to be $7.99 again by September. That's the date kicking around the web for toy prices to go up again.

But, if oil prices keep dropping and transportation costs drop, maybe that'll help matters.

If prices go up past $8 a fig, I'm going to SERIOUSLY cut back on my collecting habits. Too bad, Legacy and CW were sort of looking promising too...oh well! Money can be spent better elsewhere with the way prices on food and goods are now a days.

The good thing about this hobby there is always more options available...so TRU is expensive then shop at Walmart or Target. Once they realise the drop in sales they might reconsider charging so much.

Well, seeing as oil prices are dropping and today I actually saw gas for $3.95 a gallon as opposed to $4.50- something, I think they'll try to hold on to that price seeing as people will be going more to the pumps.

But that aside, it's Wally World or Target for me. Fortunately I had already decided to cut waaaaaaay back on buying stuff. So far I've only bought 4 CW figures, 1 Legacy, 1 Rebel Pilot pack, and TRADED for the other pack.

That's it! I'm proud of myself. But much luck to you all that buy more. Hopefully the $7.99 trend won't carry over to the other places.
