Here is another Hasbro/Galoob set of comparison photos. Today is the Y-Wing:

- Y-Wing 1997 (Galoob)
- Y-Wing 2005 (Hasbro)

Not too much difference here. The paint scheme and the colors themselves seem to be the same. Only the classic blue stand is the difference.

Here is a picture of all the Y-Wing releases.

Back again for another set of comparison photos. Tonight I have the A-Wing:

- A-Wing 1997 (Galoob)
- A-Wing 2005 (Hasbro)

I couldn't find a difference between the two releases. Hasbro followed Galoob's lead on this one pretty well. The only difference is the blue stand that comes with the Galoob release.

Here is another set of comparison photos, this time of the Millennium Falcon.

- Millennium Falcon 1997 (Galoob)
- Millennium Falcon 2005 (Hasbro)

This is another one where Hasbro followed Galoob's lead very closely. Not much difference between the two except for just behind the cockpit area on the Galoob release is a gray painted area that is white on the hasbro release. Also the gray applications on the Hasbro release are darker than on the original Galoob version and to a lesser extent the orange applications are also darker. Other than those minor variations only the color of the two stands is different.

Here is a photo of all the Millennium Falcon releases:

A really great thread Darth_Morpheus.
I missed out on these in the day. I have a couple of the old Action Fleet vehicles, but i was mostly into the Micro Machines at the time (i really liked the thought that was put into their playsets.)

I'm thinking of focusing on the Millennium Falcon, so i was particularly intrigued with that part of the thread. It's really nice to see an Episode 3 Falcon for a change. Do you have any photos of any of the EU vehicles? (The Outrider and the Ebon Hawk in particular.) Were there even any released?

Agreed, it's a great thread... very useful!

Rodders, assuming you're talking about Titaniums, there's been quite a few EU vehicles released including the Outrider, but no Ebon Hawk. Check the Lt Brenn Tantor's Visual Guide in the RS forums for individual pics.

Here are some pictures I took of the Outrider with the Millennium Falcon. I think the two go well together.

This was at the top of my want list so I am very pleased to be able to add it to the collection. At least we are ending with two great ships (Nebulon B being the other). The Outrider itself is great. Very nice detail and it is a good size. My only drawback is that it is not solid like the Falcon is. It would have been awesome to have a solid Outrider like its cousin the Falcon. The Outrider is a plastic and metal mix, one half is one and the other half is the other. Below is a picture if its underside:

Thans for the photos, the Outrider is so cool.

I always had an issue with the size of the outrider though, i always thought that it would be so much smaller than the Falcon.

Here is another set of photos. I took some pictures of the Nebulon B with some other Rebel ships.

This is one nice ship! Hasbro was just getting good at making these things when they decided to quit. Very nice and solid and the size is awesome, much bigger than they could have made it. Like we talked about before...any capitol ship is a good ship!

Agreed! The Neb is impressive... the WOTC one has been blown out of the water! Actually, it's now a half-pint escort to the TS one on my shelf.
Shame we never got a Viscount or any of the other Rebel capital ships.
BTW, that's one mega-dirty red Tantive IV you've got there, DM!

I'm getting lazy aackbar01, didn't pull them off the shelf for the picture. You've seen them before anyway...right?

I've got something that you may like better, I know that you like the Venator so here are some new pictures of them. I realized the other day that there was a variant I had never noticed before. Here are some pictures:

Turns out there are two variations of the Republic Attack Cruiser. The 2006 release is much lighter and there is a red circle around the Republic emblem. The 2008 release is much darker and better defined and there is no red circle around the Republic emblem. I really like the 2008 version much better, it stands out much better than the lighter version.

Below is a picture of all three "red" versions, the two Republic versions and the Imperial emblem version.

Finally, here is a picture of all four variants of the Venator:

- Republic Attack Cruiser 2006 (Republic Emblem with Red Circle, lighter version)
- Republic Attack Cruiser 2008 (Republic Emblem with No Red Circle, darker version, black sticker packaging)
- Republic Attack Cruiser 2008 (Imperial Emblem, silver sticker packaging)
- Imperial Attack Cruiser 2007

Thanks again for the pics!

Sorry, don't think I can agree with you on this one, DM.
I can see the Open Circle Fleet emblem on both of the red Venators in your pics... it's just that the red's way darker on the dirtier 2008 one, methinks. Have another look, bro... it's amazing what you can see in digital pics! I'm thinkin' variation here.

I do agree that the detailing looks sharper on the 2008 than the earlier one... the dark wash helps a lot.

Thanks DD for the comments. I'm still thinking there is enough difference on this that I'd call it a variant but its really no big deal at all. You and I seem to be the only ones willing to weigh in anyway. I do really like the 2008 release over the 2006 though. It is definitely the nicer of the two. Again thanks for weighing in DD.

The Venator, to this day is my favorite Titanium, and it was the first one that made me buy into the line. I dont chase variants unless its a major deco change, from Republic to Imperial in the case of the Venator - but as time goes by I might start picking up certain ships and variants that I once passed on, now that the line is at an end.

Well I'm getting close to the end of these Galoob/Hasbro original release comparisons, just a few more to go. Today I have the X-Wing.

- X-Wing 1997 (Galoob)
- X-Wing 2005 (Hasbro)

Hasbro followed Galoob pretty close on this one also. There are a couple of minor differences. First, the lighter gray circle that is on all four engines is much wider and less precise on the Galoob version. The Hasbro version has the rings much thinner and the paint definition is much sharper. Second the darker gray highlights are darker on the Hasbro version compared to the Galoob version. Again only a few minor differences.

I guess that if all the later red Venators had the dark wash, (and none of the earlier ones had it) then it is a proper variant as you say DM. Is it possible there's a lot of variation in the dark wash on both versions? Y'know, I'm pretty sure I grabbed a second red Venator, too... maybe I should check mine to see, too!

Good eye on the X-Wings, DM. Very hard to see the differences in the pics... subtle! Thanks again for the pics... how many Galoobs left?

I can not believe there are that many Titaniums. wow.

I didn't see the TIE Defender, the one I was looking for. any variants on that one, or is there a way to get the clear stand off of it?

Sorry to say: No and no, Shytown. The second release of the TIE Def seemed to be identical to the first one, and the stand is permanently attached, unless you permanently amputate it yourself.

Shame that they went all-plastic on this one, but I still like it anyway. The permanent stand is a downside for kids who might want to play with it, but it's not an issue for those of us who display them on their stands.

I would strongly suggest that you buy one MOC... the loose ones from Hong Kong looked horribly warped.

This thread is awesome! I've been collecting Titanium series from the beginning, and I had no idea that there were actually some significant variations. Those Republic Attack Cruisers for example, my gosh I had no idea there were different emblems.

Thanks DD and LeoFett for the kind words and support.

I have some photos of Boba Fett's Slave 1 tonight.

- Slave 1 1997 (Galoob)
- Slave 1 2005 (Hasbro)

You can see from the photos that there really isn't much difference between these two except for some very minor differences with the red paint applications. Really the only major difference is the blue stand that comes with the Galoob release.

Cheers to all your hard work.

Wow. I didn't realize the difference in paint aps between the 2005 & 2006 Jango Slave 1's.

I don't know about you guys, but my Slave 1's always seemed to have a problem staying on their stands.

I have had the same problem with mine. It is always a balancing act to set the Slave 1s in the upright position. The picture above was very tricky to take balancing all seven at the same time

Well we are getting very close to the end now. Only one more ship to do after this one unless some other variants pop up.

Tonight I have the Snowspeeder.

- Snowspeeder 1997 (Galoob)
- Snowspeeder 2005 (Hasbro)

There isn't much difference between these two. I noticed the gray paint applications on the Galoob version are lighter than the darker gray on the Hasbro version. Other than that, the blue stand is the only difference.

Thanks again for the pics DM... they're pretty close!

I found that the later TS stands with the longer pegs seem to hold those Slave I's a little better... fits a lot tighter.

It is a skill to make those Slave 1's stay Morpheus. Atleast now I know I wasn't the only one cursed with unbalanced Slave 1's.

Thanks for the tip Duranium, I may have to switch some of my stands around.

Ok this is the last of the Hasbro/Galoob comparisons. We end with the Landspeeder.

- Landspeeder 1997 (Galoob)
- Landspeeder 2005 (Hasbro)

I really couldn't see a difference between these two. There really isn't even a difference in the shades of the colors between the two releases like can be seen on most of the others. The only difference is the blue Galoob stand compared to the Hasbro black stand.

Here is a picture of all the Landspeeder releases:

Well this is the end unless I missed a variant out there. I sure hope Hasbro has some special releases in the future of some Titamiums. I'd be happy with any release but some new molds would be the best and any variants would be welcome but please no repacks
, actually I'd even take a repack at this point

It has been fun and thanks for taking the time to read and for the support.

Thank you, Morpheus, this has been a great thread with very interesting and relevant content. All of your hard work has been greatly appreciated. I doubt I myself will ever own all of these variations, but atleast I was able to see them all here.
