oops. forgot i was supposed to start a new thread.

ok so here is the new piece. i may still tweek it and add more detail. With the slug, i went with a combo of the movie version and the mcquarrie version. Sorta my own version. Not a lot of reference for this guy, so i just went with it. there is a lot more detail than you can see in this pic. Plus this pic is a bit dark but you get the idea. Id like to do another one sometime only have a closeup of the slugs mouth and teeth with the falcon flying out. I may do that sometime. who knows, maybe someone will commission it.

This was an interesting piece to do, so i would love to hear some feedback on it.

Looks really nice. The only thing is that the Falcon looks too big in comparison to the slug. I have a feeling that the Falcon is supposed to be closer to the viewer, but that doesn't entirely come through. Very well done though.

yeah i intentionally made the falcon a bit larger than it should be. I wanted to have SOME detail in it LOL.

well it looks like it's just gained me another commission. biker scout on speeder bike.

that should be fun.

well the client likes it that size but I'll see if he wants me to make the falcon smaller when he gets back from his cruise. sorta thought there would be more replies with 34 views. oh well. its been that kind of day. everything that could go wrong today has. sorry just had to vent.

Thanks guys. well i received a message from the client. He doesnt want the falcon smaller. He and his wife like it as is.

I will probably be having another slug and falcon piece coming up after the biker scout piece.

I dont fish for compliments. I like feedback. Whatever that may be.
Yeah i think my monitor settings are different than most. I've heard my pics that i post look dark. but on my monitor it looks fine.

I don't visit the art forum much, but when I do I enjoy seeing your work. I would be interested in seeing what you do with a biker scout. I have been wanting a biker scout art piece for a while, so if it turns out great (which I am sure it will) and if I have the funds (that I am not so sure of), I may look to you in the future.

I love the new slug painting Tim. Tim is a very excellent artist and on the best I have see. Two have 2 paints for best and never PSC. Keep up the good work Tim. I know I have the stroke and my writing is getting better and if I wrote and that better I am good my all!! Please to see a new painting very seen. Thanks again Tim!!

p.s.

I've been working on another style that is by far unlike anything i have ever done. seriously crazy. a little bit of an animated feel. somewhat dark and macabre, yet cute at the same time. should be fun to see how it lends itself to the SW world. Still working on the overall look of the characters. I will post pics once i have a few pieces done. That may be a while since i have more paintings to do and sketch cards as well. stay tuned.

there are so many characters and scenes that i want to do in this style. It's mostly in my head at the moment along with a few rough sketches. I've only played around with classic leia and oola.

Hey guys,

Im working on all of the sketch cards. Im doing about 3 or 4 a day on top of my painting commissions and personal art.

Im almost done drawing the next piece. It's a giant 20x30 painting of a Felucian Bull Rancor confronting Aayla (who has lightsaber drawn). It's gonna take a while but i think it will be cool. Lots of detail to go into the rancor and felucia environment. stay tuned.
