Rebelscum have hinted that this one was shown at SDCC so it shouldn't be long till pictures turn up.

If Hasbro is able to match the fantastic level of proportion and detail that the Sandtrooper and Stormtrooper has achieved, than the Tie Pilot is almost a guaranteed winner.

I could end up loseing all good sense and end up buying more of these than anything else. I did at one point have 72 of the 3 3/4 TIE Pilots...cause 72 is how many is stationed onboard a Star Destroyer. If this one comes out, I'll get atleast eight and then wait and hope for them to release the four different helmet variants too that way in the end I'll have a full squadron of 12 pilots....I think something is wrong with me lol. TIE Fighters and TIE Pilots, my two most favorite things from star wars.

Have relatively little interest in a TIE Fighter pilot, but that could change if Hasbro makes a relatively affordable 1/12 scale TIE Fighter that he can fit into.

I'm down for any and all armored/helmeted troops.

Yup,,, and I like that on the packaging for the other BS line they are using him in the background. I wish they did something similar with this BS 6 inch line

Two for me, as well. And didn't it seem like they claimed to HAVE pictures? WTH? I looked through all of those damn things but came up empty.

Looking forward to it too! Hope pictures do indeed show up soon.

And I'm all in for an AT-AT Driver as well!

All I can think/hear is .... cricket, cricket.... cricket, cricket....

Anyways, while I am really excited for this figure, I'm also going to brace myself for disappointment. This is Hasbro after all. When can we start seeing the new figures, do we have to wait until tomorrow?

Double-posting because my excitment level for this figure really is that high. It seems that 2014 is going to be the year of the TIE Fighter Pilot, what with the 6" figure, a 5POA Saga Legends figure, the 12" Gentle Giant Jumbo Vintage figure, and the amazing looking Sideshow 12" figure. So, even if this 6" version turns out to be a let down, there are still other options for a TIE Pilot aficionado such as myself.

Only concern with the SS 12" version, is the lack of accessories... I know in the films we've never seen TP asides in the fighters or evacuating the DS2, but was hoping at least for the holster with a blaster and other little extras not in the films.

As long as it's not an E-11 blaster. It makes absolutely no sense for TIE Pilots to carry a weapon that large.

I always thought the TIE Pilot's would have a small blaster like the Scout Troopers have. something small and only for defense.

It'd be neat if they gave him a modernized version of the pistol he came with in the vintage line.

I'm loving this figure. I expect many will complain that his helmet is too small, but I prefer the figure not to look like a bobble-head.

Ugh, yeah, that was definiitely a let down. Bossk looks kind of crappy too, much worse than the 2007 Vintage 3.75" figure.

I understand they are going to scale down the TIE Pilot helmet a bit, because the onscreen helmets were gigantic, but this is way too small. Plus it's sitting too high up, almost like the person underneath has a giraffe neck. Even the accuracy of the helmet itself is not that good. The 2003 3.75" TIE Pilot had a better helmet sculpt than this.

I kind of wish the TIE Pilot and Bossk really were just scaled up versions of their 3.75" counterparts, because that could only be an improvement from what we see here.

Unless something dramaticaly improves in production, then this figure is most likely a pass for me.

That figure looks amazing, it's just as gorgeous as the Sandtrooper.

So any freaking out over the Imperial blaster inclusion? I read somewhere someone hated the idea. Probably Barada.

Yes, I do hate the idea, it makes no sense for a TIE Pilot to be carrying the E-11 blaster. If they carry anything at all, then it should be something small like the Biker Scout pistol or, as PoeGhostal suggested, a version of the vintage TIE Pilot pistol.

However, I was so disappointed by all the flaws in the helmet I never even bothered to see if the figure was carrying a blaster.

I'm not the biggest Tie Pilot fan, and don't dislike them either, but this figure looks AWESOME!!!! As far as arguing what blaster a space-pilot would or wouldn't carry, I think it doesn't matter in the least bit!!! If you're going to argue that, why wouldn't you argue about the "need" for an oxygenated helmet, as there is no atmosphere in the vacuum of space!!! I say the more accessories the figures get the better, and if you don't like them, pitch them in the trash!!! But that's just me!!

He's only going to need that blaster if he lands (or crashes) somewhere unfriendly, and at that point he would want the big blaster. In other words, who gives a crap? I agree with Mr. Darth_Bones. It's not like they gave him the wrong blaster.

If everything else was great with the figure, then I'd be minorly peeved about the blaster, but it wouldn't really be that big of a deal. I'd just keep it in the packaging and, at worst, display the figure sans weapon or repurpose/costumize a gun from another 6" toy line.

Also, the "need" for an oxygenated helmet isn't an issue because that's a part of the character's design. Just like those legs straps on the X-Wing Pilot uniform serve no purpose if you are flying a craft in the vacuum of space. So, you are entirely missing the point of the criticism. We never see TIE Pilots running aroudn in the movies with blasters, so there is no onscreen reference. Which only leaves us with common sense. In a small, cramped cockpit, a two-handed weapon is just going to get in the way. Just like pilots in real life, the pilots in Star Wars would only carry small pistols just in case they happen to crashland somewhere and need to defend themselves while waiting for rescue.
