Looks like we’ll be seeing the Ronin from the Visions shorts in the Black Series line:

Anyone else looking forward to seeing this character get released?

I wonder if this will be the Celebration Japan Exclusive? Would seem an appropriate 2 pack exclusive.

If it is an exclusive to the convention, I hope they actually have the figures there for convention goers to buy. I was frustrated that the Celebration London Exclusive Vader wasn't physically at the con - they just had a QR code to order it to be delivered weeks later. I would've picked one up had it been there but had no interest in ordering online. I think others must've felt the same way seeing as he's still in stock at Pulse and other retailers at a discounted price (so much for exclusive!)

I don't know if this one will do that well. I hope it does because I would love a 3.75" version. There's been a lot of recent releases that have sold poorly in 6" that Hasbro then hasn't done in 3.75" (which is a shame for the characters that would've done better in 3.75" in the first place, like Ewok Dress Leia, The Client, Zero, Jaxxon to name just a few). But it makes sense businesswise to 'test the waters' of a Visions release by selling 6" directly to the convention goers.

Hopefully it sells well and people like it!

Makes kind of sense if done as C:J exclusive, otherwise I´d prefer that Hasbro using their resources for all-new sculpts for more long wanted OT characters and not doing more of IMO crapy Visions items

An exclusive for Celebration would be awesome to be perfectly honest.

I pick up very few TBS figures, but will happily purchase these two. A bit disappointed though that Hasbro has seemingly changed the astromech's dome style from an R5 to an R2. The inside of the hat accessory has clearly been designed to fit on a curved R2 dome. Even has a spot for the upper photoreceptor to plug into. However, the animation model was definitely an R5 unit.

I know the hat never came off in the anime, but there was at least one shot where you could see the distinctive rectangles of an R5's neck. Biggest giveaway though was when the droid's hat was damaged by a rogue blaster bolt. Was plain to see an R5 dome inside.

Although having practised Japanese martial arts for about 20 years, this should be right up my alley, but I never watched Visions, and they don't exactly fit into the theme of the rest.

I imagine if you have all those samurai style Star Wars characters (can't remember who made them.. maybe SHF - and I also never got into that) this is a definite pick up.

That figure looks sweet, the blade is awesome. I still remember the surprise watching when his kitana glowed red.

(Oops, didn't realize there was a separate thread for this droid yesterday. Guess I just assumed Ronin and his droid would be coming together in a 2-pack. Sooo....guess I'll repost my post from yesterday in the proper place.)

I also assumed it would be a two pack. I typically skip droids, but I may grab this to go with him.

I would hate for this to be an exclusive. I feel like this is the sort of variety the mainline kind of desperately needs.

I don't remember everything from the episode (i only watched season 1 and that was when it came out), but this one was a highlight and worth checking out, since theyre all just individual self-contained stories. This one and the one about the twins were the best.

2 pack would make sense but just in case I’ve got seperate posts, if they end up as a two pack the threads will be merged

It is indeed a 2 pack

Star Wars: The Black Series The Ronin & R5-D56 by Hasbro

Sleek and skilled, The Ronin & R5-D56 — from the Star Wars: Visions Volume I short “The Duel” — join the Black Series at SWCJ. This Japanese-only single-language collectible is available for purchase exclusively at the Hasbro booth (Hall 1, 3-7) during SWCJ 2025.

It's a neat looking set, worthy of the Con-exclusive title indeed.
Now that I have seen these images, I get why people want it.
Still not for me, not fitting into my collection.

Is the cape wired? Looks like it.

I’m kinda with you. It’s cool, no doubt. But I won’t stress if I never get it.
On sale?
Absolutely.
Pre-order for $60?
Nah. You guys enjoy.

Actually, I just left Japan. If I was here at the convention, I would get it for a keepsake, but my Japan trip timing was wrong.

Talk about missing paint apps! Kidding. I know it matches the source.

I can already hear the complaints about the lack of deco. 🥴
My only complaint is that they gave the droid an R2 dome when it was an R5 dome in the animation. Feels like sloppy research to me, and is especially annoying when you know they have a perfectly good R5-D4 mold at their disposal.

I'm pretty sure this box set/color deco is the "exclusive" part of it and these will be released as mainline singles.

Yeah I had it in my basket, but $100 Canadian for a "new media" figure was a bit too rich for my tastes.

I know a few local guys that had this delivered already!!! Even with Prime, I thought that was crazy fast, all things considered. I don't have Prime so mine will be here sometime mid-week.
