I watched The Phantom Menace this evening, and going through the special features now.

It's never looked better. The DVD has that mid-90s feel to it, but this release brings it inline with the other movies. I don't think people realize exactly how similar production TPM was to the original trilogy.

On this day of Blue-Ray madness... I sat down and watched Star Wars EP4... The original Star Wars, unedited, unaltered... From the definitive collection on DVD.... Yea, so much has changed... and Had did shoot Greedo in cold blood. No laser blast, no Greedo shooting first, just a simple explosion in greedo's chest where Han shot him in cold blood.

AWSOME!!

Oh, and Vader doesn't say... "Nnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" at the end of Ep6 either....

Why do I have to keep logging in every time I open these threads, even with the "Keep Me Logged In" box checked?!
I had to delete all of my private messages just to be able to send a new one, but then found out the member on the other end also has a "full" folder! What up??! Do the bugs need to be worked out?

Made it through TPM this afternoon an can honestly say it's the best version of that film released to date. If they release it with CGI over Jake Lloyd or overdub Jars Jars performance with say Clint Eastwood...short of that...
...it's so beautiful...
Eager to see the OT!

Yes, things like this are still being worked on. I myself have thousands of "new" PMs....most of which are years old. I should delete them at some point.

Saw TPM last night on blu-ray. for some reason, I kept looking at Yoda, knowing he's all CGI now, but still thinking some of the shots of him were "different". Nothing straght on.. always at an angle.
the thing that struck me first was the control panel of the ship at the beginning. so crisp and clear were the lights and dials...

I'm glad I have the "Definitive Collection" on DVD.... that's the original versions of the OT... unchanged from when they were shown in the theaters. After 15 years of greedo taking a shot first... it was pretty shocking to see Han shoot first AND in cold blood. Yea, that was cool.

Anyone seen any sign of wave 15 of MU yet?
I read on another board that they've shown up in a couple of Targets near Buffalo.

How much are tickets? I only have a very small window of availability on Saturday, but if they're cheap enough I might go.

On a related note, Hasbro pulled all the old stuff off the shelf at Target sometime over the past few days. When I was there earlier, all that was left was R2-D2 and a (corrected) Stormtrooper.

On a second related note, if anyone missed out on that ultra-rare Sandtrooper figure, I have one still on the card I'll sell for the low, low price of $45.

TVC Stormtrooper with the better helmet.

As far as the Sandtrooper, it's just the regular TVC Sandtrooper. I guess no one missed out on that one.

I saw the first commercial for the convention last night. They haven't advertised very well. I watch my share of television, but I'm just seeing it now.

I don't think the organizers of the Roc-Con have a lot of money to work with to advertise. The 1st radio ads I heard for it were yesterday along with what you are reporting on TV. Although they did advertise in print months ago and did have a small online presence.

Hopefully they do alright.

Their website needs some serious help, also.

You'd think the people organizing a comic book convention would be able to make a better site.

Seems a lack of foresight and funds hindered this event line up. Support from local collector's and corporate sponsorship would of given them more to offer.
Each SW Celebration progressed better and bigger than the previous (with the exception of CIV).....the only way to top CV is to have Ford at CVI.
Hopefully the persons of ROC-CON make big connections for next year. All the best to them.

+ps: Having only 10 posts per page and 50 pages per thread is fustrating....it's like reading a **** and Jane book.

Oh yeah....forgot about the Stormtrooper helmet thing.

I've known about this show since last year. Hard to commit to it so far in advance. I might stop by and check it out if I can.

I believe you can change your display settings so you can see more posts.

I'm curious about this as well. I saw a small report on YNN...but it got cut off for a car commercial, and I didn't see the whole thing. I did recognize someone in the background. A Rebel Legion member I know by site, but I don't know his name.

I'm curious, also. One person I know went, but she's much more interested in the anime side of it - which seems to have been it's main focus.

I decided my three free hours on Saturday were better spent at home, so I didn't go out.

Lots of Anime fans were there along with the local 501st folks. Not a ton of vendors. I picked up a ton of comics for dirt cheap. No real Star Wars collectables per say. A few guys had a bunch of figures for sale. It looks as they had a healthy crowd for what it was worth.

Just a small heads-up...

If any of you are habitual "stashers," don't bother doing it at Target for the next few days. Someone from corporate is coming to all of the stores, and anything you hide will be found and put back. I've never seen Target neater than it was today.

Anyone wanna have some fun?
I went to TRU on the lunch break.
They are showing 38 MU Figures in stock right now in their system
There is only 1 on the Pegs.

Coincidence?

I'll be calling them every few hours today to find out if the MU is stocked.

This was a good week for toy runs:

I picked up Bastila Shan, Ponda Baba, Echo Base Trooper, B-Wing Pilot on "Revenge" card (left behind Luke, Ackbar, and Vader on "Revenge")

Also, got both TRU-exclusive Battle of Endor sets on sale for $21.99

Plus, got Commander Rogers, Ultron, Sub-Mariner, and Darkhawk from Marvel Universe (I still need X-23)

Finally, I found the Power Man & Iron Fist and Captain Britain & Spider-Man Comic Packs!!

>>WHEW!!<<

What time does Village Gate start tomorrow?

What Target did you find the new figures at? Henrietta has nothing new on order at the moment, and most of a case of Wave 5 (eight of the twelve) on the shelf. It looks like the 212th Clone, Greivous, Han, and Obi-Wan sold (you know - three figures people complain about pegwarming).

Also, who stashed the Spacetrooper behind some LEGOs? I was disappointed to find it - because it meant there had been a Stormtrooper there recently.

38 on the "floor" yesterday according to the computer.
Dave and I grabbed 2 X-23's (1 for Dave, 1 for The Neal!) and a Commander Steve Rogers (for me) this morning that we were lucky to have stashed for us.
As of 9am this morning that was all they had besides an Ultron, Falcon, and 2 Namors
That was it.
So 30 of them disappeared overnight
And Village Gate is Sunday.
I'm still hunting for an X-23 for me.
The Defense Rests.

Brockport Walmart had a number of TVC waves 5 & 6 still...no new MU.

Buffalo Galleria Target had nothing of interest this afternoon.
