Rebels TVC would be so incredible. So many amazing aesthetic characters, I have no visual artistic talent but if I did and I worked for Hasbro design I'd be clawing at my bosses for a chance create them. That would even be the best Thrawn avenue vs. an Expanded Universe edition or something.
But Hera Syndulla, Seventh Sister, Inquisitor, Zeb at the very least would all be incredibly eye catching figures.

Last Rebels publishing date was March 2018. Fallen Order was Nov 2019. I guess it's a year and a half more recent and all but if video game troopers are what people are busy with over there though I really don't know what to think.
It's rather annoying we haven't gotten so much as one from Rebels. Was Hasbro told to hold off given several of the characters might appear in the new shows?

As far as vehicles, with the Razor Crest coming, and Blockade Runner now seemingly off the table, I'm pulling for a U-Wing next.

I doubt there was anything told to them by Disney since they just released a wave of the whole crew in TBS.

I’d love either a ghost or a U-wing, but I’d rather have a cantina first.

I've watched the whole Rebels series twice and didn't find it any lamer than any other part of Star Wars. I mean I think we all agree that the only part of it all not at all lame is the murderous midget bears. (shout to murderbear!)

Of interesting Rebels note is that the Imperial Light Cruiser (Arquitens) and the Imperial Carrier (Quasar Fire Bulk Cruiser) and the Gozanti cruiser made it from Rebels in to FFGs Armada/Xwing. The Arquitens was also Thrawns first command in the modern Thrawn novel (s?), written by the same guy who created him. The ILC/Arq basically replaced the Carrack's class/role in Imperial Navy use/reference and the IC/QFBC replaced the ESC (escort carrier) originally from XWing/TIE Fighter. Then all ships in the Imp Navy essentially had the trademark Star Destroyer Wedge look. Gimmicky and I miss the Carracks legacy, but still it was admittedly less than visually inspiring and these newer ships have more appeal that in the case of the Carrier borrow/meld with EU material to become modern canon. Additionally Filoni has to be credited with creating Ahsoka and Hondo in Clone Wars. I really enjoy both of them in all of their appearances throughout the uni.

I don't have any problems with Filoni putting his characters in all the stuff he's done (Ahsoka, Hondo...) I mean....Timothy Zahn has put his created characters in everything he's done (Thrawn, Mara, Talon....). Michael Stackpole did the same thing with Corran Horn. Hell, Lucas has shoehorned Artoo and Threepio into everything...and don't tell me Threepio's inclusion in EP1 made any sense at all.

I think Filoni has done a lot for SW. The Clone Wars is closer to what we hoped the prequels would be than what the prequels actually were.

Rebels is a very different show than the prequels and there are plenty of misses....but when it hits it hits strong. Rebels has a very strong OT vibe to me personally and I loved the inclusion of the original OT designs.

I know everyone likes pointing to Favreau as the sole reason the Mandalorian "brought SW back," but when he was pitching the idea for the show he was told to go talk to Filoni. The end result is very much a joint effort from those two.

As a counterpoint, I never thought we’d get ARC Fives or Echo after all these years, but we finally got ‘em.

HOWEVER, we’re still waiting for Pong Krell, never got any Mando’s with the Maul-inspired decos, Obi rocking the red Mando armor, or some of the more memorable clones of the 501st.

So, who knows.

Whatever the next big ticket item is for us 3.75” collectors, I just hope Hasbro does it right and finds a way to satisfy those fans that have been holding out hope for it the most.

Whatever it may be.

I'm naturally drawn to big ticket HasLab-level items. Even the Sentinel. I own ZERO Marvel toys but like the Marvel movies/TV shows. I saw the Sentinel HasLab and wanted it. Held off for $$ reasons, but still. Same with Unicron.

It won't happen given the current brand direction but a 1/18" scale GI Joe HasLab would probably make me cave.

I hope the next Star Wars HasLab is in fact 1/18" scale and comes with cool figures.

I agree that Lucas's inclusion of Anakin being the one to "build" C-3PO when he's 10 is absolutely ridiculous and so were R2's retconned rocket boosters, but one thing I can dig about them being included is that Lucas always intended the Journal of the Whills AKA all of his Star Wars stories to be told from R2's perspective as a witness to it all years later. The scrolling in the beginning of all the movies is supposed to be taken from the Whills and R2's databanks. I think that kind of consistency is cool, but it's annoying that knowing technology as we do that over a 60 year span or whatever that the dang droids didn't improve an iota or get upgraded models. Ah, space fantasy...

Any kind of Clone Trooper sell though, and the benefit of it sharing molds with other characters so the possibility for repaints exist. = investment worthwhile
Pong Krell is a fantasy at this point and I don't even think a fan poll can help, too many people still voting on OT stuff that we just got only 5 years ago...

Heck I though with a show called the Mandalorian we'd see several repaints of various sculpt for different characters. NOT... The only thing needed to make Bo-Katan and Kosta Reeves is reuse of the EE Female Mando sculpt with new heads/helmets and added accessories. And if that's not good enough for all those SA nuts we still could have gotten generic repaints by now using them.

IMO, the only thing those new hips, torsos and rocker ankles brought us is the inability to reuse a decades old library of perfectly good sculpts.

It's rather annoying we haven't gotten so much as one from Rebels. Was Hasbro told to hold off given several of the characters might appear in the new shows?
It's possible I guess, I mean they almost certainly have to do "the latest" version of Ahsoka from her show if not Mando, which they should look the same. It's also possible this is were we'll see Ezra, Hera and Sabine again, though I thought Sabine would be in Mandalorian since. As long as we/I finally get a proper TVC version of Hera, Sabine, Zeb and Kanan I would be happy, doesn't really matter the source material I guess. If we try to pin them down to doing them all from Repels that gets tricky, unless it's based from a certain season. But the line just doesn't have enough slots for multiple version of this crew.

Zeb is the one outlier as he went back to his home Planet so we might not see him pop up in new media, so chances of getting a figure of him are probably very slim compared to whoever shows up in the show. We can definitely put to rest ever getting any of the other characters though.

What Lucas always intended as far as SW goes....well...it's not always a good thing. Read the early drafts of SW...thank goodness he had friends to step in and help him out. Lucas's original plans for SW got further and further away from his original plans with each subsequent movie. It's just part of the creative process.

And Lucas isn't always the most honest when it comes to what he originally intended. That mention of R2 being the one to record everything for the Whills was first mentioned around Revenge of the Sith if I remember correctly. Yeah....George is the king of revisionist history and telling people he always intended for that to be the case. Or I should say, when people try to paint the picture of George having a massive planned out story he doesn't bother to correct them too much. His original original version was all powerful beings sort of watching everything if I remember correctly. R2 didn't get added in until later. Then he toyed with the idea of himself being one of the Whills. He was just spitballing honestly, it was never really fleshed out. He just liked the ideas from LOTR, DUNE and Foundation.

Really the droids usefulness ended after ANH but they were lovable characters so the one off joke he stole from Hidden Fortress he just kept going with. Because if a joke works once you just repeat it over and over again right?

I mean thirty years ago. Toy stores started making all their guns be neon green with neon purple tips and such, and moms got choosy about the kind of accessories figures had. It failed (as I said). I know what I said.

How did it not work? There's very few toy guns on shelves and the ones that are have the neon colors.

I don't think it's fair to say the droids lost their usefulness after ANH. R2 was an X-Wing copilot and by virtue of it could always be attached to Luke's hip anyways. His X-Wing isn't making many hyper jumps without him. If 3PO were not present to be a golden god to the ewoks, then the others would have all been cooked. And R2 probably saves the other heroes more than anyone in numerous situations throughout all GL6 films. They are infiltrators/smugglers in first act of ROTJ.

It is fair to be skeptical of Georges claims due to some of the plot holes, but at the same time, that can equally be explained by a belief in the creation of the OT that they'd never get to go back and make the first Episodes.

I used to always hang my hat on the scrap of Old Ben Kenobis dialogue when he says, "I don't seem to recall ever owning a droid" and he clearly has no recollection of R2 or 3PO. If George really had intention of R2/Droids being the omnipresent narrator(s), then what function did inserting that piece of dialogue serve? BUT, in the moment, if you believe that you aren't going to be able to go back and make the earlier parts of this saga that tell the first parts of the story, you're probably shooting from the hip in terms of tweaking dialogues when filming scene for scene- so in that instance, IF they were to present Old Ben Kenobi as remembering the droids, then it spawns a whole bit of backstory that almost needs to be touched on in that moment, in that scene, in that film, etc. Where as if you just tweak it to have Ben not remember the droids at all, then you save yourself the other gaping hole in the story at that exact moment. . .. vs the hole you don't ever expect to have to patch when you go back to make Ep I-III 20yrs later.

Don't get me wrong, I have always been skeptical of certain aspects of George and things he says and claims. I definitely do not assign any sort of messiah type creator status to him, he had a great creative support team. At the same time I'm not going to take anything away from him, it's all Star Wars and in general I love it all, some more than the rest.

That bit of dialogue is a hole that's easily avoidable is the thing. Just don't have Obi-wan interact with R2-D2. Neither R2 or Threepio are relevant in the PT. They exist and do droid stuff, but nothing about them specifically is needed in the PT. Just don't include them in the PT.

The whole ownership of those droids in the PT is sketchy at best as well. In Ep1, Padme owns Artoo and Anakin owns Threepio kinda. But he leaves Threepio behind. Threepio ends up with the Lars family because I guess Watto was doing a two for one deal? Buy a slave get a droid for free? And R2 is still belonging to Padme in Ep2. Anakin goes to track down his mother, she dies and do they give him Threepio? Because after that he kinda just took off with Threepio. Isn't Threepio the Lars property...and kind of useful still. And why does Owen not remember Threepio? The personality, the NAME, come on. Then in Ep3 Threepio seems to be Padme's property and R2 is Anakin's. If their marriage is supposed to be secret why are they droid swapping all of a sudden?

Those two didn't fit in the PT at all and they were thrown in for merchandising purposes only. If there's one thing George is a genius at...it's merchandising.

But my comment about George not correcting people on his original plans for SW, well you really don't even need to include scenes from the prequels to see how he was revising and making things up as he went. He loves making that claim that he took the middle chapter of the story and decided to start there because the first episodes were too complicated to film at the time. Nope, in subsequent interviews he follows up and says his plans for the prequels were a few bits of notes on some of the characters backstory. That he didn't have a fully fleshed out story. All of his drafts of ANH don't give any indication of it being Episode 4. Episode 4 didn't become a thing until SW was re-released before ESB. His first draft of SW is a nightmare of a read, but it's still a standalone story. Reading each subsequent draft you can see where stuff gets cut, but the stuff cut wasn't the prequels. It was scene ideas that he just re-used in Empire (asteroid) and Jedi (wookies changed to ewoks). And the OT was never planned as a trilogy in the first place. It was going to be a 6 movie arc. He just dumped his plans for 7 8 and 9 and condensed things down to be wrapped up in ROTJ instead.

That part worked. The part that failed (as I both originally and repeatedly stated) was the figure-accessories part. Every few years someone gets infuriated by little guns. Why are you possibly trying to fight over this? Pick a fight with someone willing to lose a fight.

^ HA so true.

As a toy fan yes, can't wait to see how they do Galactus compared to Sentinel. As a buyer nah, gotta be picky with lines.

So is everyone excited for the next big ticket item....Galactus??
Yes apparently that will be Hasbro's branding for their USS Flag scaled Star Destroyer Galactus.
That will come with an exclusive vac-metal Imperial Silver Serving Droid. NO9-RD (With large magnetic silver serving tray, he can put drinks on, or stand on;))

I won't be buying Galactus but that doesn't mean I'm not curious to see what it looks like! As for unlock SS seems logical but I was thinking of a different Herald to be something special.

Woah I thought that was just a rumored want - is that seriously the next HasLab? That's really cool, I hope they give it a vac-metal Silver Surfer as a tier, I mean how can you not?
It's just a rumor....but it's pretty obvious. I mean after the hint for the last ML haslab everyone guessed Sentinel and they were correct. The ML team doesn't get too crazy with their hints. We know that the next Haslab is FF related. We also know from previous interviews that Galactus was looked at as the first ML Haslab and they decided to go with the Sentinel first. Galactus was in development. So this is likely just a continuation of that development.

The team has also said they expect this Haslab to do greater numbers than the Sentinel. Could just be bluster, but it's gotta be a character that has a lot of interest in large format. Galactus fits that bill.

I don't think they go with SS as an unlock. I have a feeling SS will be coming on a retro card as he's been released in the line twice previously fairly recently.

Yeah I get the hype/excitement they're trying to build but the Sentinel had army building potential where as Galactus does not. Not that a lot of people rushed out to buy multiple Sentinels at $350 just to army build. lol But it's still a built in feature with Sentinels and what collector of and trooper type character doesn't buy a few?

Also I'm guessing that Galactus will be slightly higher priced due to hopefully being taller than the Sentinel, and that I would hope that he mirrors the old Marvel Universe figure with speaking phrases. Something the Sentinel appears to lack. So I'm guessing it will be more like $399, $450 just seems too steep unless he's like 4' tall! lol

The rumored item is in the price range of the Sentinel. Which could still put the $400 price range in play imo. I'm also wondering if the R&D cost will be less seeing as they have already run things through with the Sentinel. The Sentinel is 26" tall....could they realistically make Galactus 3' tall?

It would need a few of galactus's heralds and alternate heads like dead or zombie heads. Maybe 4' tall, 5' with helmet on. Throw in an ultimate nullifier and Uatu and that gets it into the $350 range.

Like the idea of tiny figures like the tiny optimus prime coming with the ark.

Ewoks are great. People like them. The tactical criticism of them is BS. The accusations of commercialism are also BS.
Were you around in 1983? I agree with most of what you say, but that last statement... there were whole lines of merchandising, movies, and a cartoon series for the Ewoks. George Lucas milked all the blue milk he could get out of them.

Galactus needs the following:

Vac Metal Surfer- despite him being released in the line a few times recently, he is never in Vac Metal, which to me would be the ULTIMATE surfer.
Light Up eyes
a miniature Earth or other planet
assorted small interpretations of Fantastic four
The Ultimate Nullifier.

Like I said, I do ot own many ML and do not consider myself a collector, but hot damn I love Silver surfer and Galactus.
