The Mandalorian & Grogu (Deluxe). Jing stated in the 21.09.08 livestream that the Mando features a new dimensional painting technique to achieve the caked-on mud look - it is not a new sculpt. Comes with a openable mudhorn egg. Grogu also comes with a new head sculpt & the 1st season pram.

Out of todays stream reveals, this is the only one of interrest to me. Guess, this is the earlier titled new "build-up" pack.
Just hope I can get this easier than the first one. Love that they include Pram V.1 and the egg. No sign or mentioning of a vibroknife though

So Target and won't be able to get because it'll sell out in seconds thanks to bots....then pop in and out of stock...oh and I don't see this being worth $40...

I've seen people complaining that this is a repaint but that looks like a new chest piece at least? And maybe a new Grogu head.

looks like different sculpt to me, different lines, to my untrained eye. ;) maybe they had a bunch of mishits at the factory.

what's the new dimensional painting tech?

is he based off the Beskar Mando? lacks the Mudhorn Signet if so, which would be scene appropriate if i have my timeline correct. ;)

I'm just quoting Jing from the livestream. She said it's the same sculpt just a different painting technique. Take it up with her if you disagree. :)

OK. LOL. Why should I take it up with her?

You're the one that answered someone else based on what another person said without thinking for yourself with what was actually shown. :)

It is pre-beskar. Mando didn't have the Signet yet when confronting the Mudhorn. So this figure is correct... well, with just one major omission from that vital duel.

He's missing his knife that killed the Mudhorn.

Gonna try to get this one for sure! I hope it's not as much of a PITA as the first one to get ahold of. Any idea what those two little things are in front of the pram in the package?

Because it was her statement from the livestream. If you think you know better than her, then by all means send her a message pointing out the error.

That someone is from Hasbro's Global Brand Development and Marketing. She could be wrong, but it's difficult to tell even with the HD images. Also, consider we don't even know how the new technique works, so I answered based on the most authoritative source.

Looks like an optical illusion. Nothing there but indentations to hold it in place is my guess.

I based my view on visual evidence.

So now, what you're assuming based on what Jing said, is that Hasbro has invented some new technology that paints optical illusions so not to sculpt new pieces? Ok, maybe it's possible? But wouldn't be hectically pricey the development and the tooling for such a process?

Or perhaps, she is wrong and forgot that the chest armour is a new piece, and she was actually talking about the some new painting technique for the weathering?

From the HD images and the video so far, it really looks sculpted. If it's not, okay, then wow (?).

And in the end, I initially simply pointed out to you that from the visual material, it looks VERY sculpted.

The biggest thing we have here is that brand new painting technique for this one to achieve that caked on mud look. We worked with our factories to develop a new way of painting to get that dimensional paint so that the figure looks accurately caked in mud...So that's how we got this effect, it's not a new sculpt. It's actually dimensional paint.

I don't disagree, it's possible she's mistaken.

Your phrasing was condescending and unnecessary. I wasn't even quoting you in my initial response, so it wasn't even necessary to respond to my generalized comment. Frankly, I don't care if it's sculpted or some new technique, you guys can argue it all you want. I, however, do care when people act like an ass to me for no reason.

My immediate reaction is that I already have three 6" Mando sculpts as well as four 6" Grogus...I don't need another one of either.

But the mud does look cool. And the Baby Yoda force face is adorable. Plus the SUKA!

I would say I'll cave and get it on discount, but I'll probably do what I did with the last Target build-up pack: not join the mad rush at first, feel FOMO, and then grab it a year later when they re-release it. The house always wins in the end.

There's nothing condescending or unnecessary in my initial reply to you. And there's no need to drop yourself to such a level of labeling fellow collectors in this manner.

If you still believe otherwise, you need to step back from where ever your are, go have a drink /disconnect and chill.

Take care,

Based on this statement, I think you guys are actually arguing over two different issues and there is some confusion:

My read from that is that Jing is talking about the the weathering, the mud, that is being achieved with a new paint app. That the "Mud" was not sculpted, but realized through paint. So, the mud effect is not a "new sculpt."

However, Din's Chest plate does definitely appear to exhibit the actual physical damage he suffered in the Episode, being knocked out of alignment and bent at the top corner. I did not get the impression that Jing was talking about that in this quote. I think she is talking about the appearance of the caked on mud, not the damage to the armor.

So, you're both right, folks.

From a certain point of view.
