Considering Disney being a publicly traded corporation, a bad quarter could destroy the EU. How long a life do you predict for it?

First of all, I think you're vastly overshooting the correlation between Star Wars literature and the fiscal performance of a well-diversified entertainment giant. Disney's revenue on the whole will have little to no bearing on the future of the written Star Wars canon.

I'm pretty confident that the franchise is in great hands with the Story Group overseeing consistency across the board. That's why the Story Group was implemented in the first place; more cohesive canon across all mediums equals longevity for the franchise.

I don't think it will be as long as the original EU lasted this time around.
I can see the non movie and TV material being rebooted in less than 10 years.

Reiterating my previous post: this is precisely what the story group is for. Disney/Lucasfilm doesn't want this to happen any more than you and I do.

Trust that they're going to be smart about monitoring content moving into the future. Could another canon overhaul happen? Sure. But I wouldn't bet on it happening anytime soon.
