Lastly, I know the case is closed now. But I have to say it. If Since1978 is ran off or demodded by some jerks on here I'll kick butt! Leave the dude alone.

No kidding, he's definately one of the best Mods on the boards.

'78 is great (and I have no problem with how he sources things - I really don't like listening to the 'casts either and prefer things in posts).

The "vote of no confidence" thing in the Rumors thread seemed to me to be a pretty good joke, I guess some didn't think so?

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

I think the idea of some classic line with characters from all over the Star Wars spectrum is fine. It will hit a lot of figures that people want and we won't have to see so many repeat figures every year.

I think Hasbro is trying to please everyone with their different lines. I think they know that most collectors are not interested in the animated CW figures, but they want the ships from that line. I also think that the Legacy line is being more oriented for the collectors. A classic line might end up being the collectors line.

I think at some point Hasbro may have to split the line in that way to keep kids and collectors happy, although there will still be a lot of crossover appeal.

With that said, I think that Hasbro also knows that with the CW series and the upcoming TV show, they will only have so many slots for figures every year anyway, so they might try to use this classic line as a way to create vintage style sculpt of main characters, charge a higher price at first, and then slot them into greatest hits lines later on, so as not to take up too many basic slots.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

On the VOTC subject, I'd rather there'd be no Vintage at all. I barely saw any of the VTAC on pegs here in the UK, while there are still tons and tons of the VTSC as well as the Demise of Grievous. I like the idea of making a basic line of "Classics," with the PT and the EU. Just wish they were distributed better over here.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

I hope I am wrong but it seems by August 2008 we will walk into the toy isle and to our left will be a ton of CW toys we don't want. To the right is a ton of Galactic Heroes, ect that we don't want. Then in the middle is a single line of TLC which thanks to the packaging could get mixed up with the CW line. So what do we have there? Sandstorm figures, Yarna, ect,. It may be hard to come across the Ewok pack. I wonder how mixed up the packs will end up. Will we have to look through the CW toys to find one or two TLC toys? Will the CW grow and take over TLC's spot and the store has no room to stock TLC until some room is cleared out?

I hope it doesn't end up that way. But if it does it could kill this for us. Pushing us right out of buying Star Wars toys. Other lines may look really nice that day.

I just hope we get more announcments about figures and all of those battle packs. What? 18 of them we know nothing about? Give us something Hasbro.

If anything give us one normal Stormtrooper. I'd buy infinite of that one. I missed out on the TAC one. Repack him with a stand for one. But put him in the repack/redeco wave of TLC.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

Wow that's some good hyperbole there. Not everyone hates CW and I know I personally love the GH line. So it's not a heavy emphasis on what you want? Take some time off and save some cash. At this point we know very little about the line past the releases set for 7/26 and some comic packs and the like. We have no idea what will be showing up for Christmas or anything else. Give it time and see what comes before screaming Hasbro hates us or the sky is falling.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

I'll be fine. As to a break ... I just got back into collecting November 2007. Too soon for a break. I'll just wait and see what comes down the line. As for now I just ordered some stuff online. I'll check ebay and work on Star Wars stuff here. Click my new sig link to see the Death Star diorama I am constructing in my room. I am not leaving Star Wars. I was ready to dive head first back into it. Just a little bummed about my stores having nothing.

There are still things out there! I am really excited about Darth Talon. Not TLC, but I forgot about the Wampa coming in May. Now there's something to grab.

In any case, I am done moaning and groaning. Time to blast some Imperial March and get back to being happy. (My alarm clock plays that to wake me up. Yeah, I got it bad for some Star Wars!)

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

Well I've been going since the relaunch in 95 so I guess im not all that concerned about a slow down. I myself will be starting work on a custom Falcon once college is out.

Actually we know a fair bit, we know that there will only be ONE further OT wave - and we do know that if you are an OT collector only its pretty bad.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

So the Pilots Evo packs, A-Wing, rumored Falcon and UBPs from the OT hold no interest for you? Also we know one wave of OT was pushed back but WILL be out. But again I say I don't think we know anything for the basic line beyond possibly Christmas.

Now you are talking about BEYOND Christmas, so next year then. Well yeah I guess we dont know much about next year. Hope its a good one. But we are getting WAY too ahead of ourselves.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

Not really. Only things we don't have a solid date on are the second pilot packs and the Falcon. The A-Wing is set for a 7/26 release, the first pilot packs will probably follow not far after and the UPBs should hit around Christmas if we are indeed getting them. Beyond that everything is in motion.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

I also said possibly because Im not sure what dates are still in stone. Stuff comes late and stuff comes early. That said we still don't know a lot about what is coming. For all we know there could be 3 waves of OT coming after Christmas or something like that. I think we all need to just take a step back and let things unfold.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

Am I the only person that struggles with the SW hasbro site. EVERY single time there is a new photo or news item posted. I go to the site and can NEVER find it. Its just the most difficult site to find anything, wierd, anyone else?

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

No, that's why I generally stay away from Hasbros site. I miss the old POTF2 days where it was easy to navigate, they gave a heads up on figures, had a check list AND showed the development of figures.

Moving the deleted scene convo here as per requested ...

Three new pics for you ...

Rewatching ROTJ it seems people go in and out of the second Death Star a lot!

* Vader lands.
* Palpatine lands.
* Vader leaves for the command ship.
* Vader comes back to talk to Palpatine.
* Vader goes back to the command ship.
* Vader brings Luke to Plapatine.
* Luke takes Vader out in the shuttle.

So adding yet another scene of Vader going to the Death Star and fighting his way to see his master just seems odd. And then leaving again.

The sandstorm scene doesn't make much sense except to finally show one of those infamous Tatooine sandstorms. The scene never worked and they gave up on it. However, I want the scene of the two ships parked there put into the movie. They can show a CG skiff fly over to them. See the shadow of it on there!

Any more thoughts on any of this?

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

Thought this would be a good place to ask, sorry if it's been discussed before, I haven't been in the 3-3/4" loop for awhile... for these "First Day of Issue" pics that have been showing up lately, has the date of that 'day' been announced?

July 26th.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

Cool. Still really disliking the cardbacks, though. They just don't stand out or look all that interesting.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

The cardbacks look strange to me. I don't know if it all that white, or the rounded top...it just looks weird. I guess I will get used to it.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

From the 2 offerings I have seen so far they are shaping up nice (I wont lie, I would have prefered another 1 or 2 OT Waves this year, and to be honest that might still happen).

As for everything else all of it is shaping up to be a good year for collectors, even in the wake of the CW movie, Hasbro could have easily said no were not doing anything but CW as the kids are into this, but they didnt, theres a lot of nice things coming out, most I cant afford just yet, but I will get them eventually even the BMF.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

I don't think we know exactly what's coming on 7/26 - but have a look at the news and rumor thread, as that shows the confirmed products, and there's a good bet that most of what's confirmed will be available on the 26th. There was some talk of the 2nd wave coming on August 10th, but that hasn't been substantiated.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

Not sure where to post this, but I thought a Legacy/Clone Wars "crossover" discussion might be interesting. To whit:

CW figures seem a bit thin, but I like the CW Obi Wan when helmeted enough to put him with my realistic figures. Not sure about the Ani yet.

Re: TLC General Discussion - v.1

Wow, I just checked on the CW3D thread at the latest rumor list for that line. So much exciting new product to look forward to over there (I don't post there out of principle - since I don't buy from that line). Of course the new characters, but also improved prominent Jedi, background characters, etc.

Were the following made in realistic scuplts - I'd get:

As reported to be the info from Curto's rumor list on the podcast this week:

Next Wave:
Gree (might buy)
Yularen (would buy)
Fisto (might buy)
Windu
Ahsoka (Different Version) (might buy)
Whorm Loathsom (would buy)

Upcoming:
20 point articulated Clone Trooper (would buy)
Luminara (might buy)
Grievous (Different Version) (might buy)
Aayla (would buy)
Bly (might buy)
Jabba (would buy)
Jawa (would buy)
Battle Droid Repaints (might buy)
Palpatine (might buy)

Just had to lament the state of things. O well, I guess the lack of these figures in realistic sculpts saves me some space and $46 to $104 ( and that's not even counting what I would have picked up from the previous waves had they been realistic sculpts).

Sigh

HELP! Which clone figures are actually in the RotS

I know this must have been discussed many times before but for the life of me I couldn’t find where!?
I’m just trying to find out exactly which RotS Clone troopers that have been made into figures are actually in RotS. I haven’t been keeping up to date buying the figures and am miles behind, not to mention completely confused with regards to which clones I’m missing and should be hunting eBay for.

If someone can even point me to a thread where this has been discussed before it’d be really appreciated!

Cheers!!

Re: HELP! Which clone figures are actually in the RotS

Discussions are all over the place here, so I've got another. How does everyone feel about the jedi robes that have been sparingly showing up with the wires in the bottom? I have 2 jedi with this robe now and really like it. I wonder if others are too and why Hasbro is not using this more in upcoming jedi. Most pics I'm seeing so far of new jedi figures coming out are with the regualr robes. I think you can do so much more with these other robes - shaping it to fit different looks a lot easier.

They are…. GNT told me a while back that someone had started a list of all the clone figures made from RotS and thought the thread was somewhere between the ROTS and TAC sections but couldn’t remember exactly where.

Just hoping someone might remember where?

Thx

Re: HELP! Which clone figures are actually in the RotS

Just gotta vent for a few seconds, on what I found today.
I found and Imperial Engineer from wave 3, and got all the way to the register, before I realized that some a-whole stole the BAD out of it.
Hopefully no respectable Scummer would be doing this, so I'm going to say if you steal the pack ins your a b!tch.
