Sadly I have zero interest in the new stuff.
I may pop in for a look but I doubt I'll be buying anything

From the leaked images all I can say is the artwork looks really nice on the cards, figures look poor.
For a couple of quid I might buy a few, but not at the muted prices.
The 6 inch stuff doesn't grab me either, though I will probably buy 1 or 2 on the midnight launch event as a memento.
I am more excited to firstly see the film, and then see what Hot Toys has lined up.
I bought tons of overpriced EP1 merch before seeing the film... that was a bad choice.

Anyone sure of the prices yet? Judging by Argos I assumed £9.99/$9.99 for the single figures but now I'm seeing the odd $7.99 confirmations in the US for single figures. What have people being paying with these put out early finds in the US?

I was sort of out for the whole range at £9.99 each but at £7.99, that's more my sweet spot.

Early finds? ... Roughly $100 per figure, as there are idiots with more money than sense.

The nearest midnight madness store to me is Warrington. If I can convince my mate, I might pop down for a laugh.

I thought with the release of EP7 stuff the basic figures were increasing to £12.99?

I am going, probably on my own as it's a Thursday midnight, and my mates think I am nuts. Could get a few off here to meet up and say hi?
I saw the leaked catalogue of all the force friday releases. Most is utter junk, just 1 or 2 6 inch figures and on to Hot Toys for me :)

Argos says basic for 9.99. I think Armour for 12.99 and two packs for 14.99. But some US listings saying $7.99 for basics I'm hoping the basics are actually only £7.99 here.

I'll wear a white carnation. Meet me under the clock.

I probably won't know I'm going until I'm literally on my way there. The only thing that's of mild interest to me is 6 inch Rey w/BB-8.

Which clock? :)

We should all have 'stag night' type shirts made with our usernames on, then all eagerly rush into ToysRus (probably for the cameras there), point and laugh and the merchandise on offer from Hasbro, and then preorder the Hot Toys stuff on our mobiles at the till.

Great day out.

Just browsed the catalog and safe to say I won't be buying any of it. I'll take my daughter along and might get her a figure or two but so far this line is going to save me a fortune.

No interest in 5POA, no interest in 6" figures. I'm interested in some of the ships and vehicles and even some of build a weapons but not the figures. Happy not to buy any of them till they hit the bargain bins.

Very sad as my serious collector days are now behind me, and I've been collecting since '95 and Kenner figures as a kid before that. End of an era.

I've been collecting since 1980, and i lost interest in the figures early last year when i spent countless trips to TRU to see Slave Leia & Greedo's filling the shelves, when new waves had been out months elsewhere.
Looked at the catalog, and it was slightly depressing tbh. Most of the stuff looked tat and cheap made. I will be cherry picking what i get from EP7.
Bring back TVC, thats what i say.

Pic over on jedinews of some ASDA shelf labels:
"SW Single Figure - Episode 7 each" @ £9.97
"SW Armour Figure - Episode 7 each" @ £10.97
"SW Figure - Hero Mashers each" @ 10.97
"SW Deluxe Figure - Hero Mashers each" @ £14.97

So £9.97 for the 5POA line?

But the armour up stuff is only a quid more??.....seems fair as the accessory is worth about 20p.

Theres every chance the 6 inchers will indeed be £25.

There is so much riding on the retailers making out like bandits....that literally the future of SW collecting is at stake.

If these events.....fizz like a damp squib and go down with a whimper....then Hasbro is going to have major issues shipping the Christmas stock.

Figure in the poor indies, who may not have stock until all this is over.....the opportunity for everybody to make money is gone....the indies don't want the stock later.......so wait for the 2nd hit.....and supply is backed up. Constable Zuvios and Poes are everywhere until Rogue one hits....when we get 6 figures.....

Let's hope that its not a dud. I will be getting some 5POA and I think the hype for younger kids is big enough. I still hope for SA down the line. What is the current cost of 6" in Europe? Specifically in Ireland if you know the euro cost? I plan on trying to back fill some figures if they have them at some small stores if they aren't too pricey.

OUCH thanks for the update my friend. That helps A LOT so if I see anything less than that if they are on clearance maybe. I was hoping to get stuff at MM at least the 6" but now I'm not so sure I will have to do some currency calculations :hmm:

Lol. So the Republic of Ireland get 7 stores. The UK gets 3?

Absolute Joke.
I think you may be adding wrong. There are many stores opening for MM in the UK. You will have plenty of options it seems  See below:

If that is the price for the speeder bike, assault walker, etc., then it compares very favourably with the basic figure price, I might pick some up.
Hoping it's the Speeder Bike, Assault Walker and Rey's Speeder.

Anyone think that the supermarkets and maybe Argos could be the best bets for this stuff. Generally seem to have Two for £x offers in the past. I think Friday may be spent doing the rounds before committing to buying anything. Wonder if there'll be any ads in the papers for FF.

I wonder when the 24 hr supermarkets will put their stock out. Do you think there'll be a load of suspicious Star Wars fans hanging around from Thursday afternoon onwards? :)

I'm losing track of all the different variant's. Hero, single figure, deluxe, Snow, Desert. Crazy!

The figures that have hit shops / Ebay already, which have "build a droid" parts, which are those?

Maybe about 90 people there for the Glasgow opening, which wasn't bad. My daughter was the only child in the queue when the store opened and we got moved right to the front, which was amazing. I have to say the people in the queue were really sweet about it. However, clearly TRU only had a couple of boxes of 6" black series figures, and all of them, especially Kylo Ren went in minutes, despite the store putting a limit on how many of each toy you could get. The lack of SA 3.75" figure or vehicles meant I bought nothing, but my daughter was happy with the First Order Nerf Blaster and a Kylo Ren armour figure (again these shifted very quick). For people at the back of the queue there weren't many Hasbro figures on the pegs by the time they got there (everyone was put through in groups of four). The giveaways were great, but for adult collectors I'm not sure there was much to get excited about, if you're not into 5POA figures. The Chewbacca Nerf Bowcaster and Mask (with sound fx) were the only things I thought were cool, but not enough to buy at what they were charging. I did hear one disappointed fan say, "I queued four hours for this?" I still think they were mad to have this on a school night, as the bulk of the toys were better for kids than adult collectors, but apparently Saturday is TRU's busiest day so I think that may have influenced the decision.

ToysRUs Oldbury Midnight Madness

I went to the ToysRUs Oldbury event, 2nd in line. This was the first midnight madness event I've been to and I have to say it was great. Met and chatted with some Star Wars fans and the 4 hours flew by. An appearence from Chewie and some Rebel Pilots and Admiral Akbar in command and the 501st were represented by Stormtroopers and Tie Pilots, about 150 people there and all were in good spirits. I was chatting with a guy who was 8 when star wars came out, a guy who was 8 when the Phantom Menace came out and 2 lads who were 8 when the Clone Wars movie came out. (and I was 8 in 1990! - for all accounts I shouldn't be into Star Wars!). Once inside, much as others have reported, there was limited stock. Looked like about 2 cases of the the black series 6" and about 5 of each of the 3 3/4 figures (no SA). Plenty of Lego and the Nerf stuff.

As I was in the first wave I got what I wanted without problem from what the Store had, Picked up the 3 3/4 BB-8, Unkar's Thug, And Jakku Scavenger 3-Pack, The Zeb and Chopper 2 pack. First order Stormtrooper and FlameTrooper in the Build a weapon line. I really like the packaging.

For those interested: IN PICTURES: Store Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens in Oldbury « Express & Star. Nice pic of me towards the end of the slide show.

I attended the Glasgow opening last night, i was about 4 people behind you Darkbill, i seen you and your wee girl escorted to the front.:)
Stock and supply wasn't great, but picked up a few figures i was after.
To be honest i shouldn't have bothered going due to the late start & standing around. I checked my local Asda this morning they had all the 3.75 wave figures ready available, still i like to participate in the collecting/hobby related events.

Ha! Wish I'd known it was you. Were you the person asking us to make sure we left you a TIE fighter? (some hope!)

I went to the Glasgow Disney store yesterday and while pound for pound they had less than TRU, there was more interesting stuff. They had the voice activated Droid (BB-8 and R2) for about £30, which I was tempted by. They seemed to be flying off the shelf.

They also had some nice t-shirts/costume ranges for kids. They also had a lot of the Build a Weapon and Armour figures. Any plenty of 6" figures. They also had the £120 BB-8 app droid, but it had sold out already.

No vehicles or mini-rigs though. I almost bought a couple of things but decided to save my cash for the just announced 3.75 Black Series, although I can miss most of the first wave of repaints/repacks.

Looks like Disney stores might end up getting the pick of the crop (apparently stores like Hamleys and A1 got nothing from Hasbro, they just got Lego), which is fine by me as for me they are easier to get to than TRU or ASDA.

I wasn't the tie fighter guy lol:)
I'll need to drop by the Disney store over the weekend to have a look, my son would like BB-8 in some shape or form.
Asda stores have been great so far! Found all 6" Black series in the Dumbarton store.
