The Black Series The Child is 1.2 inches tall. Awww... :love:🥰

I pre-ordered it. I'm glad it's a lower price point. But, if they did a $20 version it would have been cool if they did multiple heads for different expressions.
 
I wonder when they got started on these... Did they know and were embargoed, or did they find out at the same time as the rest of us? That electronic one looks like it would have needed a longer R&D period than a couple of months.

Dont forget with 3D printing and prototyping all they needed was the puppet for a day or so and they can scan it so fast now.

I doubt they knew.

Plus it doesn't seem like it's the most articulated one and it's small too, so hardly 18 months of work, which I never understood anyway. :)

As the rumour mill has it, Mandalorian was pressed to come out sooner than intended to have a flagship show on time for Disney Prime's launch into the Xmas season.

So yeah, the renders and prototypes of these Child figures, is a clear indication of how the show was released way before planned schedule.
 
Is it any surprise that people are going to start hating Baby Yoda? Only a matter of time.

A better search is "star wars black series the child" and he finally appears as item #18. Soon I'm sure he'll be #1.
 
The black series version is the only one that looks like the show.

I can't believe people think Disney didn't film this and make the toys at the same time , they didn't just churn out the merchandise a week ago.

Toys are where a ton of toys leak spoilers.

Yeah, these might have had some early pre-production work done, but if they weren't focusing on keeping the character under wraps until the first episode aired, all of these would be on the shelves in time for Christmas, not Mother's Day.

I understand that any ubiquitous character is going to lead to fatigue. But I'm not tired of him at all. Protect the Child at all costs!
 
Disappointed this doesn’t come with his egg. Would have been a way to make it a regular cost figure. Guess they wanted to churn it out as quick as possible. Still looks good though

While I LOVE baby Yoda, they're ruining it with merch overload.

Mattel has the 11in plush with vinyl head
Hasbro has a 6in tall one and a 7.5in tall one that talks

Hasbro has the black series figure, but also three 2packs of a whole different style but similar scale

Funko will have the usual pop and an oversized 10in pop

Most of these are fine but the 3 dolls are a lil much

Yeah he looks great, yet was also hoping he'd come with the floating(clear-stem-stand) egg-stroller.

So (it's been a while), does silly-putty still come in those small egg cases, seems like that could be the right scale to start a custom base? ;)
Or any other suggestions?
