Does anyone have extra stormtrooper shoulder pauldrons? I’m looking to make a Mimban Trooper have a higher rank.

Going to transform an old TFA Threepio into a Triple zero (the 000 figure is hard to get here in the uk and I can live without the extra articulation/hands) .
I was confident from reading the graphic novels that he was gunmetal grey, but on looking at a couple of reviews for the Bandai kit, he's gloss black.
anyone know which colour it is?

Dorkside Toys has triple zero in stock and they ship internationally. Might be worth checking out.

Not sure how I feel about this no-necker in the end. But I'd gotten an extra Veers because they were cheap, and an extra X-wing Luke because of the rumors that Wedge was going to be an ESB snowspeeder pilot...

Quick and easy head swap for comic costumes
Damn you...with all the new stuff coming out this week, and the money I've been spending dipping into Figuarts from Japan...I've just dropped money (under $20, but still) on these two figures to make these new versions of our boy Han.

A couple of recently finished customs done while waiting for Farce Friday...

After viewing the Rebels episode ‘Twin Suns’, I wanted to do a Dewback for my Outlander Obi-Wan custom. Picked one up extremely cheap
& went to work. Complete repaint, replaced the reins & how they attach to the bridle, & used faux hair for the mane...

Also did a Zuckuss repaint & made a custom cloak for him. The one that came with it is nice, just didn’t have the look of the
one in Empire. I came across this groovy material when I was making cushions for Jabba’s dais. It isn’t completely accurate, but
it does have that odd look & shimmery appearance...

Did one a while back using TFA 3PO & 4-Lom’s arms...

I feel the comics show him as very near gunmetal with a slight cool spectrum tint. When I did this the only version that had been made was the 2017 Celebration Kotobukiya exclusive (the finish on it is fantastic). I wanted to go a little darker to help accentuate the red eyes. I think the Hasbro version’s eyes lack any menace & the body color & sheen is off. The hands are ok though.

Also forgot to mention that I have the Bandai kit, & the gloss black does not look like 0-0-0.
Agree. I have the Bandai kit too and while gloss black looks cool I bought a bottle of Alclad 2 black chrome that I’m gonna airbrush it with. Haven’t decided on which paint I wanna use for the ab section w/wires but I’ll post pics when I finish

PS, these look great dude. My Mythos Kenobi is almost finished too, thanks in large part to your help in sourcing the backpack components from Outer Rim. Although if anyone is interested, Two Sun Casting has both the EM and AG mythos heads shrunk to 1/12 size for sale. I ordered both but they may be a little large cause I’m using ROTS Figuarts OB1 as the base figure. If they don’t fit I’ll just drybrush a bunch of grey into the Figuarts head’s hair n beard.

Excellent work on both.
Really dig that Obi-Wan...wish I'd picked up extra Kenobi when they were everywhere on the cheap.
Going to check current prices now...always loved the Mythos statues but a bit out of my price range.

So I'd really like to replace the plastic cape on the Mandalorian with a cloth one. Can any recommend the kind of fabric and does anyone have a pattern or something that would work?

For those of you who who have done a lot of repaints, can anyone suggest any techniques for painting black hair? Specifically, not having it look flat and lifeless... or is it simply just a case of slap the black on and let the sculpt do the work?

Maybe do some drybrushing with a lighter shade. But there is probably a better suggestion :)

forgot to say... AFTER your black paint has dried, then do the drybrushing.

Gave my Darth Maul a personal display. Customized "Hero Masher" Bloodfin speeder (using drink mixer "flight stand"), Sith Probe from a 3.75 figure, and a Tamashii flight stand all on a "Pirates of the Caribbean" figurine stand

If you're like me, and add replaced figures to a fodder bin, I found that the original release Emperor's robe fits Maul perfectly. I just removed the clasp

Also added a custom 212th AT-TE gunner to my ranks. I had originally painted him with an orange-heavy custom mix, but when I finally managed to acquire a 212th trooper from the "Order 66" set, found he needed a better color. Repainted him using about 1ml of Tamiya flat yellow (just made a small puddle for mixing) and added 3-4 drops of Tamiya orange. I wanted my "specialist" to have similar, but unique, markings to the standard 212th troopers

Great job on the Bloodfjn.
I grabbed one of these for 5 bucks about a year ago, stuck it in a closet, and just remembered it when I saw your pic.
Gonna have to pull it out for a paint job.

Thought I’d share my work in progress Mythos Kenobi, based off Figuarts ROTS OB1. Most of the part were order from glassman. I made the backpack out of a small square of foam covered in some scrap leather I had lying around. And obviously those parts taken from a Tusken and a Jawa. Goggles are from Target Solo Chewie. Robe off eBay, just cut sleeves off and literally burned the edges while painting it. Faux rope is cord from Michaels. The stickers for the clones shoulder Paul drains I got off ebay. And the heads are both from TwoSun casting. If you don’t know their site, sign up and check it out. They have amazing stuff and quality is top notch. I have yet to receive a piece from them that has flash or air mobile holes. I’m gonna use the older Ewan head cause it’s a little smaller than the AG and I friggin love it!
Now I just need a Dewback! If anyone has one they got on the cheap at Ollie’s, 5B, or B&N I’ll buy it n send ye some goodies! The AG head pictured if you want!

Thanks Jimmer. Yeah, I just wish I had been able to find one faster. Maul always felt like he was missing something.
I was actually amazed at how well Maul sits on the thing, and looks pretty good.
Only things I plan on changing (other than repaint and weathering) is trimming the bulky upper back section and trying to find/kitbash thinner footpads.

So cool.
Thanks for this...I always absolutely loved the Mythos line, was just out of my price range (I really need to scale back the number of hobbies/collections I try to keep...lol).
This is certainly doable though.

Fan, I cleared out most of my 3.75 line (except absolute favs/essentials) a while back to make display room and fund more 6 inch line, but I never did acquire that 3.75 Sith Probe Droid...gonna have to track that down...great addition as well.
I did hang on to my 3.75 mouse droids and the blue tread droid on top of Falcon at Hoth Base (no idea of his designation).
I always thought those scaled relatively well to 6 inch line.

Sorry for multiple posts, my head's not in the game tonight.
I missed Landspeeder at my Ollie's by a day...I would also make very fair trade for Dewback or Landspeeder if anyone got extra on the cheap.
Of course Parintachin73 gets first dibs, not trying to bump line.

Thanks man. I love that original Mythos statue too. Made me think if ever there was a figure that cold thousand stories just on the way it looked, that was it.
I still haven’t snagged a Dewback. I screwed up last week. I was at Barnes & Noble looking for a commander Wolffe for another member here and they had 2 landspeeders for 15 bucks each. As soon as I walked out of the store I regretted not picking one up and of course when I went back this week or long gone. Can’t win em all

Yeah, I wanted to make that back half a little more screen accurate, but was also afraid of ruining it w/ my dermal. Ended up just filling in the "missile pod ports" and repainting. I also used the footpads from a spare 3.75 Bloodfin I had. In hindsight, I should have made them sit further from the centerline (give Maul more leg room), but I can always go back to it later. ;)

Mine came from a deluxe Maul set (Bloodfin, Maul, the Droid I used, and probe droid "missile"), but I know that Outer Rim Traders has a cast available if you want to try that option. I believe it just needs an antennae added.

I'm looking to made a Dash Rendar custom and looking for some advice. I saw someone make one in a Facebook group and thought it looked fantastic, and he gave me the parts he used. For anyone who has experience swapping out parts on these figures with Marvel Legends (I don't collect them) how do I go about doing this? The only Black Series custom I have made is Luke from Shadows of the Empire. The only parts I swapped were wrists and the head, so I've never swapped shoulders, waists, etc but I am familiar with the boil and pop method. I tried popping out a shoulder on a spare 3.75 inch rebel pilot figure. The arm came off but the little peg broke off and stayed inside the arm socket. I put a mug of hot water in the microwave for 3 minutes, and let the figure sit in the water for a good 3-4 minutes so it was pretty soft. Was it because its a different scale, so the 3.75 inch figures might be a little tough to take apart?

The parts I want to use are the following.

Head - Starlord
Chest & shoulder plates - Phasma
Arms - Iron fist
Waist & legs - Captain Poe (will repaint to a navy blue, middle of waist and insides of legs will be painted brown)
Brown shoulder pads - Lady Deathstrike

Any help I'd greatly appreciate it, or if anyone would even be interested in tackling this little project let me know!

Just a simple head and hand swap kind of day. I finally got the young Solo figure for nothing more than swapping the head with Bespin Han for the comic costume. And seeing how I then had an extra head, I swapped it with one of my RFT's and have another unique trooper. The young Han head looks pretty good on that body.

That sounds like a pretty cool recipe. Do you have any of the parts assembled?

I don't, I'm still in the process of gathering the parts I need. I've never swapped shoulders or waists. I was told with the chest armor I need from Phasma, I would need to crack open the torso, another thing I've never done. Once I get all the parts I need I'd still be hesitant about trying in fear of breaking the parts I need.

I ended up buying most of the parts I needed. Good news, I was able to pop Poe's arms off cleanly. I noticed though he's having trouble standing up straight.

I bought a Han figure for cheap because his pants are a shade of blue I like. If I use nail polish remover or a paint thinner, am I able to take off the red striping on his pants without doing any damage to the blue?
