While details have still yet to pop up we know Hasbro has plans to bring the build a droits part to retail with figures once again. Is everyone happy that the Droid parts will be back or just more frustration trying to complete sets?

I'm really happy about this. If they stay with mixed waves and decent carry forwards, then it should be easier to complete these droids.

I hope we see a C-3PO BAD because that's the best protocol droid sculpt out there.

I'm going to say that this is going to be frustrating again. When did we have to have all this glitz and glam to figures? Why can't figures just be figures without a gimick?

Frustrating again. As if these figures weren't hard enough to find, now they add a BAD series to figures that are non existant. Ugh...

This is going to be a massive pain in the behind for OT only collectors..... :(
Having said that, it would be great if they can deliver some onscreen droids that may not otherwise come out.

I'm not hugely into astromechs, so I'd hope they incorporated some new designs here and there to keep the idea fresh. The same astromech pieces repainted or on different colored plastic over and over just isn't enough to interest me at this point. Maybe phase I darktrooper pieces packed in somewhere? The waitress droid from Dex's diner in AotC? A different colored power droid? These would be good filler beyond just astro droids, etc.

-I don't think the power droid would work, but they do need to do more than just astromechs. I wonder if this line will include that red Federation droid that was canceled from Legacy.

My son will love this. I'll probably give all of my parts to him so he can do the building. Having said that, if a droid were to be released that I really wanted, I would try to gather all the parts.

Build a Droid was the best pack in ever, especially when they got into some more obscure onscreen droids.
It did mean however that I wound up buying repeats of old figures just to complete a set (very clever Hasbro). Hopefully if they reintroduce it the case assortments improve.
Or at least make specific parts set to specific characters rather than running changes.

I'm thinking we'll see the Vintage Battle Droid mold used for BAD. Hopefully for Geonosis, Commander, Security, and Pilot.

This has to be why they included the Commander Droid antennas with the vintage Battle Droid.

The PK Droid would be a good BAD as well.

So it sounds like this could be the first wave:

Dooku's Solar Sailer Pilot
Luminara
Arena Padme
Rocket R2
Pablo Jill
Green Stripe Clone
EP2 Anakain
Scout Trooper

That's 8 figures right there. 4 more with fill the case, but what will they be? Greatest Hits? More Episode 2 figs? My vote is for figures from Episodes 4 - 6 but I will be excited for anything NEW.

If you look at the slide from Sir Steves guide, the Qui-Gon Clearly states the VC in front of the name of the figure. This leads me to believe that they are going to be showing slides of the Vintage line from TPM forward.

There is still might be a wave(or two) of vintage left, I'm hoping for some more OT goodness so if all those end up as BAD I'm totally cool with that.

I think it could work. The new Power Droid in the Special Action Fig sets has---what?---4 parts (with the top piece able to open up) and could be inserted into 4 different figures' cards while taking the same pieces and adding them onto 2 other figures along the way. Power droids are desirable, so this wouldn't necessarily hurt Hasbro's ability to get consumers to make multiple purchases even if they had to spread the same 4 parts over, say, 6 different figs. wasn't this done with one of the HK BAD's in one of the later Legacy lines?

Agreeing on all points with you there, especially the PK Droid being a good choice for BAD.

They could do him. Am I the only one who'd like to see a proper ESB C3PO with torn wires and cargo net?

Indeed, but we're already buying whole cases with PT crap, so we might as well get a free droid with them, right? :(

I'm really looking forward to this.

I buy most figures anyway, so now I'll just buy them all and trade the ones I don't want, loose. If I want the droid, anyway.

Yep, I liked the BAD line too. AS a loose collector it was great to get an additional figure after getting a wave. Hopeflly this will mean some big accessories again.

Yes, they certainly used those bubbles / cardbacks to give us some larger accessories with some figures, as well as 2-packs - it would be great to see a return to that. I do however think Hasbro will cut back when and where they can, so we shouldnt get our hopes up too high.

I am excited for the return of the BAD. Best pack in ever in my opinion. Here is what I think they could do/what I would like them to do

8D8-easy since they have most of the parts already.
EV-9D9
E-3P0
BG-J38-give us a second shot.wider distribution this time

For long shots I would go with
R1 Unit-Mos Eisley
TT-8L-Jabba's Palace entry droid

Since ha$bro has to get the most they can out of the tooling pennies. I think we are going to get a bunch more colors of 3po and Astro units and maybe one or two droids.

Yeah, TT8L would be great. If they update 3PO again, same great detail but a little bigger, maybe they can add a chunk of the large metal door that you can poke TT-8L's eye through.

All fantastic ideas, really hope they go with some of these as it'll be 30 years since ROTJ.

I just hope the cardbacks don't suck, like the 2008 TLC BAD line.

I am so glad that BAD will be returning, it's given us so many awesome characters as figures. What I want:
HK-47 repack
T3-M4
Juggernaut War Droid
Commando Droid

Well I got an HK already, but I really like the idea of the other three. Sounds good to me

Well YOU have one, but plenty of us are still lacking our favorite assassin droid. A second chance at him would be great, kinda like how HK-50 was given a second chance. I guess I should throw BG-J38 up on that list as well.

As long as I get more astromechs, I'm happy. You know, astromechs that won't cost me $100 a piece *coughDisneycough*

I'd rather pay a premium for packed in droid parts than pay a premium for a pretty card back that I'm just going to end up destroying anyway...

Also, I'll never understand the "it's going to force me to buy figures I already have/don't want" argument. If you really want the droid bad enough to purchase duplicate figures or figures you have no interest in just to complete the droid, why not just save yourself the trouble and buy the part you need online for like $3-$5 or just buy the whole droid for like $20? That's how I got all of my BAD astromechs. Yeah, $20 is a lot to pay for a single figure, but it's a lot cheaper than buying 5 figures that you don't want just to get one that you do. Heck, a lot of people will even trade parts with you.

Maybe we'll get another crack at the Dark Trooper Build a Droid, or even a purge trooper!
The only chance I see that of happening is if they new another round of those Walmart-exclusive two-packs. The Darktrooper pieces seem far too big for the single card figures and I assume a Purge Trooper would be of similar size.

Frustration trying to complete droids was why I didn't worry one bit about collecting them to get a droid, though I thought it was a neat idea. I was still able to get a couple of astromechs out of it, even if some of the pieces weren't technically the correct colour or whatever. Perfectly fine for the beat-up universe look I thought.

The only exception I went for was HK-47, so I would really like them to do that again. Mine currently has a silver right arm because I held off on the Concept Anakin figure as I only ever saw it for silly prices. Now it's sold out. Dunno why, didn't think the figure was that interesting at the time myself, but there we go.

Probably the only other droid I'd be interested enough to try to complete would be one of Xim's war droids from the Han Solo trilogy. BUT as long as it looked like the painting on the front of the book. The version drawn many years later for the reference books was lame. It looked like a 1950's style wind-up toy robot, and about as dangerous. Not the deadly scary ones in the book which invoked images of Roman Centurion legions in space.
