The Acolyte Wishlist Thread

Just because a project ends doesn't mean it's never gonna get new merchandise. This is Star Wars we're talking about. Didn't they just sell a Haslab based on a nearly 50 year old movie? The figures will come. Maybe not soon, but one day. If we gotta wait 50 years for an Acolyte Haslab to go up and fund 2/3 of it's tiers, so be it :ROFLMAO:
A popular and beloved movie. Acolyte is neither.

It's still Star Wars! Eventually people will chill tf out and like it, even if it takes a whole damn generation.
Perhaps a niche following like the Ewoks or Droids cartoon, or even ironically like the holiday special. Though I doubt it. I'll probably be dead in 50 years anyways.

In 50? I’ll be here. It’s hard to say now what Star Wars’ status will look like in 2074, but I’m sure by then it’ll seem normal, whatever it is (if I had to guess, I’d say everyone in the world will be telling their own quantum computers to make whatever content they want, in Planck time, or we’ll all be living in caves—one or the other).

Thank you HeatherDurazzo and GNT for getting the thread back on track. Was getting more than a bit frustrating in here...

In the spirit of being positive, bringing the thread back on track, and knowing that the show (probably) won't be continued, I thought I'd finalize a wishlist from Season 1.

In a perfect world, these are the figures I'd want to build up an Acolyte Shelf. The top 5 are confirmed. The next 5 are the most realistic to expect. The rest are long shots at best, but I would love them all in my collection.

All are confirmed for TVC
1. Sol
2. Mae
3. Osha
4. Indara
5. Yord

All are confirmed for TBS (Digital Sculpts could be scaled down for 3.75 one day)
6. Jecki
7. The Stranger* - not confirmed but inevitable in both scales I think. Then again, I've been waiting 5 years for a TROS Kylo so who knows.
8. Vernestra
9. Kelnacca
10. Basil

The rest are long shots, but most could share tooling at least
11. Torbin (Padawan)
12. Torbin (Master)
13. Sol (Flashback)
14. Indara (Flashback)
15. Mother Aniseya
16. Mother Koril
17. Osha/Mae as Kids
18. Qimir
19. Mae in Osha Disguise
20. Osha - Dark Outfit with a bleeding saber
21. The fat Padawan guy
22. Mog ;)
23. Ki-Adi-Mundi
24. Darth Plagueis (Ideally new and not a re-release)
25. Ithia Paan - (Alternatively, a 4 pack with the 3 other Jedi that went to Khofar)

Honorable Mention - Senator Rayencourt

Nobody needs to tell me that this is all unlikely or that I should stop asking for things I want because they're unlikely to happen. I get it. Just trying to be positive amidst all the hate and negativity of the last few days. Man it SUCKS being an actual fan of Star Wars content, huh?
Sometimes it really does. If you like the content, obviously you must be a "shill for Disney" or a "blind consumer" to some of these people. While I'm sure there are plenty of both of those, assuming that that's the description of anybody who's a fan of the show is as misguided as assuming that every critic is a bigot. Sure, plenty of those around too, but definitely not all, and definitely shouldn't be the thought unless they've proven themselves to be one.

Lots of cool choices there! I'd buy a lot of the Jedi for my Geonosis diorama. I really want a Stranger, Padawan Torbin, Ki Adi, Plagueis, and any Jedi they want to make.
And I agree with you about being an actual fan. It seems like, to a certain contingent of gatekeepers, if you don't hate everything that Disney releases, that you're automatically a "shill" or a "blind consumer". While I'm sure those kind of fans do exist, assuming that that's the case is as misguided as assuming everyone who didn't watch is a bigot. Plenty of those too, obviously, but I don't think they're the majority of the anti-Disney crowd. Just the loudest.

idk if she sold like "mad" but I got her on display right next to Andor and B2EMO. It's not like I'd avoid buying her because she was a female character. Not sure were you're going with that.
That the Tonnikas would sell purely being female in a sea of make figures, as pointed out by another poster.

Context is so important here.
It does seem like Hasbro has been making more female characters. It’ll be nice to get the Dedra sculpt so we can add female officers to our ranks.
Agreed.

I was really hoping for VC or Black Series of The Stranger, but do you think Disney and Hasbro are gonna cancel making them?
That Helmet they released seemed to sell well. He was one of the highlights, He'll sell at least.

There are more female characters to make.

Back when I attended Star Wars Celebration 1 in '99, there was basically one option for female cosplayers- they could be any of about ten variations on Princess Leia. Okay, so there was also like one older woman around dressed as Mon Mothma too.
It's been fun as I've attended more of them over the years to not only see the fanbase gain a bit more parity as more women and families have attended, but how expanded the cosplay options for them are- not just Leia, but Padme, and Asajj Ventress, and Ahsoka, and Rey, and Jyn Erso, and Sabine, and Doctor Aphra, and Sana Starros and Qi'ra so on. I even saw a pretty great version of Frog Lady at the last one.

I like that what Star Wars is has been able to widen who it reaches while staying true to what it is (at least I feel it has) and that more people can see themselves in the thing I like.
That goes for TVC too, though admittedly that slice of the fanbase is still overwhelmingly male. Still, we've got people like Victoria and Emily out there and I doubt we'd ever be getting the Tonnika Sisters without their contributions.

Yeah, I'm just loving all the Solo stuff love we're getting....

With the cancelation, I wonder if there is a Disney mandate to pull anything else from The Acolyte out of the pipeline, and like many others I am concerned we will never see a TVC Stranger. He was the highlight of the show and would sell, helmeted characters, villains, and Sith always do. And that roleplay helmet is still coming. I am probably going to cancel my preorders of the other TVC Acolyte figures, I wouldn't want them without the Stranger figure to accompany them.

Should just rename this thread "TVC The Stranger TV#??" and leave it at that until it gets announced (or doesn't)

What other character from this show even warrants a figure at this point?
While I agree with this sentiment, I'd like a Jecki too. If they made a Kelnecca and fat Jedi I'd buy them though.

I'd like Jeck too! Yord is an easy retool so I've always expected him, but Jecki is an all-new sculpt so likely on the back burner. With minimal reuse until they get into more Jedi releases it may take a little longer for her, but once they do it could create a nice multipack with alt heads like the X-Wing Pilot set.

It may not happen soon but we will get the Stranger figure at some point.

Rebels only took 10 years 😂
Yeah, I'm sure it won't take as long as it did for Krennic. And I feels like he'll be made before Dryden Vos.
Retro will probably see it first, maybe 2025 and then TVC at least by 2026.

Retro definitely has a larger representation so it wouldn't surprise me.

I wouldn't count on more Acolyte figures in Retro, if collector response is any indication. The commentary here and elsewhere was that a heavy majority weren't buying them. It certainly seemed to have the most vocally negative response compared to the other Retro 6-packs. It'll come down to the bean counters at Hasbro, and whether they believe they can move a minimum production run without sending thousands to discount outlets. This is assuming Disney doesn't veto Acolyte coverage moving forward.

I'm surprised Retro is still getting anything at all. I feel like I've seen everything since the first OT wave plaguing discount stores everywhere.

Yeah, I doubt Retro would get more Acolyte figures. Plus, most live-action shows represented in the Retro Collection don’t get more than their initial waves. Kind of a weird decision when a series like Ahsoka could benefit from getting another wave of seven featuring characters like Baylan, Shin, Thrawn, Ezra, Huyang, a Nighttrooper, and Ahsoka the White.

I thought the Retro selection was decent for the Acolyte. However, Mother Aniseya was an odd choice. Guess they wanted to give her some figure representation somewhere. I doubt she would be made for TVC or TBS.

Kelnacca or Vernestra would’ve made more sense to include in the 6-pack. I’d say the Stranger too, but I’m assuming they didn’t have his full reference materials at the time.

This is what confuses me, The Stranger in their mask and robe has been shown in promotional materials and surely shared with Hasbro as long as a lot of other characters reference material. They had enough to develop the Black Series helmet. I would understand if they weren't privy to the identity of the character beforehand, but I would think that at least a helmeted version would have been among the first figures they developed, because again, armored/helmeted characters, villains, and Sith always sell. Knowing Hasbro, they'd love to get the reuse out of the figure with a later removeable helmet/alternate head version anyway.

I've got my fingers cross for a Jedi multi-pack. They could use some of Indara's tooling for it too maybe, but some of those Jedi from the Episode 5 fight would be awesome. We already have most of the characters for it, and once we get The Stranger it'll be the coolest scene to display imo.

Hard to say, but they may have only gotten reference material for just the helmet. I think the helmet was finalized before the rest of the wardrobe.

They also could’ve got a concept of the rest of the body, but chose to wait before getting a finalized version.

They already have more than TVC.

They also have lightsabers with Acolyte branding on it out in stores.

Yeah, I'm saying I wouldn't expect to see more figures outside of the existing multipack. Can't imagine they'd give Acolyte another 6 slots in Retro, no matter which characters are missing. Retro remains niche, definitely not an assortment to have high expectations about when it comes to vast character coverage.

Well, I have no expectations for Retro. So I guess I'm good to go.

Retro is cheaper to make and has a higher profit margin, so that's why I feel they'd risk it there first. Regardless, whether it's TBS or retro first those sales number will likely be taken into account when deciding on whether to do it in TVC or not. Being as the Client didn't perform well in TBS I feel it impacts why TVC hasn't gotten or ay never get him.

Also, despite Luthen being the, IMO, best thing about Andor with even his figure going to discount. It might tell us a story on the likelihood of TVC version, add to that the slow performance of Vel and Cassian. And Hasbro may take it very slow with Andor related stuff. That said, as I've said before the Stranger is probably at the top of the list for Hasbro to make for all three lines. He's got that potential for several releases too, ala "Count Dooku/Darth Tyrannus" situation. First a basic Qimir w/satchel, then as The Stranger w/helmet and saber. And for those who really want variants Darth Thirsty shitless release. Although with how the show performed maybe Hasbro doesn't feel confident in multiple variants/releases like they do with Vader or some other popular characters.

One thing we have to understand with the modern line is that they approach each character with how does "future" reuse play into what they do "now"? So if they're able to utilize his legs for a future figure, say a Cantina Patron etc. then the odds increase.

I'd take a shirtless Qimir. But I'm still waiting on shirtless Anakin and Ben Swolo too :/

At least we have a few shirtless Lukes :ROFLMAO:

I mean were getting a Wuher with hairy cleavage so might as well go full shirtless! lol

Way to beat the censors!!!!
