TBS Reissues

According to Yakface there’s a whole stack of reissues on the way, which might not be a bad thing. Is anyone interested in the listed in this article? or are there other choices You’d like to see?

Over the past few months we have seen Hasbro launch a program across many of their licenses and IP that gets some older, in-demand and expensive (on the secondary market) products back in circulation. This program was unoffically announced via online retailer Nerdzoic several months ago via a YouTube video. Black Series helmets have been the most predominantly reissued items thus far for Star Wars but now it looks like many of the Black Series figures that were rumored for re-release are about to get under way.


Monday we saw the reissue of Amazon exclusive Black Series Emperor Palpatine with Throne (albeit in new packaging, with a new SKU and code name), and late last month we saw the inadvert solicitation of Ahsoka, Hera and Sabine by sponsor/affiliate Entertainment Earth.

Doing some additional research, I found that several older figures have been loaded into systems and have release dates of August through October of this year. Here is what I found thus far, in no particular order*, and there will likely be more if the original Nerdzoic list comes to bear:

Hera Syndulla (Star Wars Rebels) – August

Bossk (Greatest Hits/Archive) – September

*release month listed if known

All of these figures should be straight reissues of their original release – same Hasbro SKU numbers, same UPCs and same packaging – through fan channel retailers.

Watch for preorder drops at 1pm ET on Thursdays over the next couple of weeks.

Fan channel. Per YF, we should be looking for possible weekly PO drops on Thursdays with release dates from August through October.

This is great. Instead of the slow drip of the archive series just plain reissue figures you know are in demand and will sell well.

Just keep your eyes peeled, Yakface’s article states they’ll drop Thursdays.

I will be snagging 000 and Fox for sure. I am very happy to see this happen.

I wouldn't mind if they could rerelease some of the previous store exclusives I missed too like the Amazon Elite Praetorian Guard, Walmart Mimban Stormtrooper, Entertainment Earth Imperial Forces 4pack and the Amazon Clone Trooper 4pack (or at least the Yellow Commander Clone).

But seriously, I'm glad they are doing this. Few things (I assume) irritate current collectors or alienate new collectors more than no reasonable access to past releases.

I'll be happy to get Hunter and Crosshair. I passed on them initially and instantly regretted it because they were nowhere to be found - two of the few that never lingered.

Some of them I can possibly see as "smart" due to secondary prices but a lot of those feel unwarranted. Especially in an era of them needing to cutback on production costs. Seems like the resources could be better spent elsewhere, like for retools to get characters people don't have.

Mandalore Ahsoka, Plo Koon, Hunter, Crosshair, Aphra and her droids are all good re-releases.

Hera, Sabine, and Rex I REALLY wish would just get updated. Heck, they could even do a different phase armor for Rex and I'd be happy so long as it was on a new body.

I'm very surprised that they haven't release Rex's variant armors as popular as he is, to date they've only released Phase 2 twice and BB. He's only a helmet and pauldron away from Phase 1 look which is why it's crazy they haven't yet have a P1 helmet for other releases. The Character has been around since 2008, TBS has been around since 2013, and the first Rex in 6" scale was made in 2017.

Interestingly, I recently sold a figure on ebay where someone decided to cancel because "they heard" it was getting reissued. While it did annoy me because far too may people cancel too often after bidding things up, but I was able to offer to the next highest bidder so at least I don't have to deal with relisting. lol

I hope for that person's sake said figure does get reissued, or they'll just be right back at it again.

I've heard similar dates for some of these, but we'll have to see.

That's not official art. It's assumed that #05 will be Darth Maul based on the tip of the lightsaber on the Droideka box, however it looks like someone just did a fill-in sketch for their site. If I had to guess Maul will just be a stripped down version from the new GS exclusive 3-pack.
