I'm thinking the package will be some huge cube-like presentation like the Star Trek DST captain's chair series.
I'd buy one! I cherry pick with the 6'' line, but almost always buy the villains. This just makes me wish all the more though that we'd have gotten a Palpatine with HIS throne. I'd be all over that!
I'm curious if his robes will be kind of a metal flake gold, or just plain old velvet material? Or will they just go with plain old close to gold but more yellow , and burlap bag material?
Looks more like Supreme Leader Goldmember. Does he come with roller skates and a schmoke and a pancake? I don't know about this gold look.

This actually looks pretty good! Not a fan of the gold colored robes, but that's not Hasbro's fault. The soft goods actually look pretty decent...if we could only get a Palpatine like this.
Wow, that's the first picture I've seen of this set. According to Yakface's checklist for FFII, this is to come out. But things could have changed. I stopped in at lunchtime at local Gamestop and they said they had loads of boxes to open later today. And he took my name & number to call me back if they found this. Doesn't mean they will call, but maybe I'll hear one way or the other. They will have the basic 6" figures out tomorrow. He did say they had those in the back.

Staractionfigures posted a lot of box images yesterday on instagram, not really specified which where which, but there were a LOT, and more coming.
The io9 article that was posted today states it will be sometime this fall for this figure. We'll see!

He kinda has that "taking a dump in a public bathroom and don't want to touch the seat" thing going on doesn't he?
He's coming off more like an arch enemy of Austin Powers...from Goldmember, perhaps?
