Super Battle Droid - No.12

We have clones and we have the Battle Droids being released but we could use Super Battle Droids to take on the Jedi and clones and to even out the separatists forces. The Super Battle Droids appear throughout the trailer so it looks like they'll have a huge presence in the new film/series. It's only fitting Hasbro releases a clean version and maybe a battle damaged version with blast marks with sliced off hands feature to add a little bit of variation to the collection.

Since the Super Battle Droid is rumoured, would you like to see one made?

That's probably one of the worst proportioned character models I've seen. Even if they make one, I won't buy it.

They sure are evil in the 2nd Theatrical Trailer.
Holding a Clone Trooper up in the air shooting him in the chest at point range and then throwing him away.

About the design: The Super Battle Droids look a bit like lightbulbs with arms and legs. Interesting that they now have glowing eyes and a rougher surface.
They almost look like they are covered with a layer of concrete.

Hopefully they will have articulated hands (to hold Clone Troopers), be able to stand without a problem and feature the elbow articulation needed,
so they can be posed in fighting and standing at guard positions.

Hopefully if it gets made it stands up

They have pretty wide flat feet in comparison to the regular battle droids, so I don't think it will be an issue.

And, as always, to provide counterpoint, I think he looks awesome, especially with the top-heavy proportions!

That said, I too hope he can stand.

Also, I have to say that I'm a little cheezed to see IG-88 in the movie - not because I don't think he's cool but it flies in the face of Hasbro's adament refusal to do any of the OT characters in the animated style.

Don't they get that an animated/gentle giant maquette style line would get many collectors to rebuy OT characters all over again?? I can only hope that Boba Fett shows up in the Clone Wars regular series so we can get an animated figure of him!!

i like it, plus it was neat in a clip ive seen where it is guarding padme when she travels to ziro the hutt's palace.

Looks like it has no knee joints, it possibly has ankle joints.

it better at least have ball-jointed elbows and shoulders.

Even though I still want realistic versions of clone wars characters, I will probably pick this one up. It looks cool and deadly; it would blend in perfectly with a realistic army

Thanks for the clarification - That 6 looked like an 8 to me. Wishful thinking perhaps.

But my point still stands. 3 3/4" OT characters in the animated style would be awesome.

Looks like it has the same articulation as the newest movie version SBD, at least in the upper body.

It might have ball-jointed ankles, still can't tell if it has knee joints or not.
