Please use this thread to discuss the San Diego Comic Con 6" Black Series First Order Stormtrooper figure.

Who's going to be picking up this release?

Can't wait for the 6" figure, as well as all the other troopers. I can imagine we'll probably also get a Finn variant with removable helmet, which I'd also be down for.

Did anyone notice the troopers on the stage have orange pauldrons? There's also a Stormie in the right of the picture who is wearing some type of black tactical vest, and what looks to be black Imperial Gunners in the crowd as well.

It's good to see they'll be some variations, more toys and collectables to buy then :p

I reallllllllly don't want to collect too much from the new movies. ( I said this about the prequels too...HA!!?!). BUT, I like the new troopers and robots. I really hope Hasbro produces the troopers in good numbers.

This design far surpases the previous ST design. I love it. I will buy a squadron of these in SA form. And a chrone trooper to top it off!

The new sleek helmet design has really grown on me. I'm definitely gonna buy a few of these in both scales. Particularly excited for the 6"er.

Hope not or I shall be passing. Which would be a shame because I too love the design here.
I'd like to buy one that can hold his gun properly. Or assume an action pose. Just like in all of the officially-released imagery, in fact!

Yes, Yes, and again, yes. All of that x10.

I initially found myself struggling with the new stormtrooper look...they just did not seem to sit right with me. But having watched the teaser trailer more times than I care to mention, I have realised that it was simply the familiarity with the traditional look that was throwing me.

I am now a big fan of the design. So... B)

So little doubt that I will be picking this up in 3.75" (5POA or SA...that debate really does not bother me in the least) & 6" line.

Well this one is a given for any scale Hasbro releases, who doesn't love buying a few army builder figures for display? I love the design of the outfit so as long as the figures look decent count me in for a small squad. For those that like film accuracy I can't wait to see the above image turned into future dioramas :p

Who's going to be picking up the First Order Stormtrooper in either 3" or 6" scale if made by Hasbro?

How many can I get? I'll take 50 super-articulated and a super-articulated Captain Phasma to lead them for my first order.

The more I see them head-on, the more I see the SW/Disney mashup Donald Duck Quacktrooper with the duck bill helmet....I can't get the vision outa my head{quote}.

I actually like the design more the more that I see it. I wasn't a fan at all at first, but it has grown on me - particularly after seeing it up close in person at Celebration.

A poster on theforce.net forums is claiming that a Hasbro employee on Twitter told them that the SDCC exclusive this year is a TFA Stormie and that the only the packaging was exclusive - it would be the same figure that was released in September. No word on which scale (6" of course, since that seems to be Hasbro's current belle of the ball) or what the packaging would be... No idea if it is true, but it makes sense.

Wow, never heard that. I'd have to assume it's 6" because that seems to be where Hasbro is at the Moment. No big deal because I don't any Special packaging.

I'm definitely picking a couple of 3.75" and 2 6" of the FO Stormies. This design is so much better than the lame looking clone troopers IMHO. That's I never really liked any of the clones. The original trilogy troopers (storm, scout, snow) on the other hand is a different story. A (good) league of their own.

I am starting to warm up to the new trooper designs as well. In regards to the Clone Troopers. The helmet designs in AOTC were...interesting but when I saw them in ROTS yeah, they looked much better to me. They were starting to get the Stomtrooper look. I may only get some of the Troops. The hero figures to me are rather bland.

The OTC trooper/guard designs were great but they were terrible fighters. I hope that FO ST are much better and fierce.

"FO" :grin:

Disney didn't think that one through did they? "First Order" isn't the phrase which immediately springs to mind....

I absolutely despise the hero outfits we've seen. But i can't wait for the troopers.

Looks like they skipped the white detailing on the gun, even on the 6" figure. No hopes that they'll do better than that on the 3 3/4" figure...

It looks like he's just packing a regular Stormtrooper (OT) gun with it. Isn't the TFA blaster significantly different? There's also a spot for the blaster pistol on the leg, but no pistol.

How do we know that's the legit product and not something that's fan made to cash in? Either way I know it's going to be far superior to what we've had previously. The design is awesome.

I've read the JTA 'article' on this and the people in the comments section are whiny little b!*ches. 'Oh I'm glad this leaked' or 'they made us wait too long'. Get a life you losers! Hasbro can and should wait as long as they intended for SDCC is the perfect time and place to reveal what they have in store. If you really can't wait, if you are so impatient, if there's nothing in your life that could preoccupy your mind until a few months then you got something wrong with you. There should be a link to a support group somewhere.

I think it's safe to say this is a legit figure, the figures would be in production atm so of course these Asian sellers are going to get them early. Hasbro might end up cracking down on it as I'm sure they wont be happy about it leaking so soon:p

As for the figure, looks great!

True, I suppose we can wait until SDCC to compare the figures (if we're bothered to that is). Glad to see there's more of a sane and collected reaction to this on RS! The figure looks great!

viperskingdom usually gets samples/early production figures/factory mishaps and always puts them in the worst poses for his auctions

Besides the figure looking rushed from production I have a good feeling the ones we get will be great figures!
