I watched the episodes to the half season break - I had to watch them via "unsolicited" channels? (You know what I mean) .. to be able to see them.

They are not that exciting in the Star Wars universe - they don't seem to fit in.
If it wasn't for the Star Wars name, it could have been just a show about the everyday life of racers in spacecrafts on an oil rig.
And the main guy, Kaz, probably end up being one of the greater heroes of the galaxy or something. But I can't be bothered to watch it unfold anymore.

I can't even see how it would hold the interest of kids if the true reason for the short original trilogy shorts is because of short attention span.
But even that, it's just not very exciting to watch it, after having watched 8 (I think) episodes.

The style of the animation I actually liked. Think I might be one of the very few who do.

They could have done a lot better and drawn from a more exciting era - have it done as a kind of holocron tales,
perhaps even narrated by a jedi master of old. Sort of like the Storyteller with John Hurt. I'm sure that would have gathered a higher interest.

Despite saying I wouldn't, I did give it a fair go and watched it up until the predictable episode where the baby blob thing had a gigantic mother sea creature come to get it.

I have now given up and won't go back; life is too short to waste time on this. It is the first time I have ever done so with any form of on-screen Star Wars production.

The only positive was seeing a mixture of PT/OT and ST races in the same place at the same time. Why the films cannot do this with the exception of humans and Wookiees I have no idea. It doesn't matter if they are in a different part of the galaxy if the races are spacefaring, surely?

The over-reaction and facial expressions of Kaz were annoying but understandable given the Anime heritage. Neeku is a childish and one-dimensional character. The annoying female engineer with the terrible fake 'Mockney' accent made my eyes roll every time she came on the screen.

I gave it 'Bad' I'm afraid.
Seriously, watch the 2 episodes since the sea monster.

Yeah, the show literally steps up two notches since the sea monster episode.

I'm not watching, but it's not exactly a conscious choice. I just kinda keep forgetting it exists.

Things actually got even more interesting this week. I guess this timeline is closer to TFA than I realized?

For me it's almost like watching a train wreck, I gotta see how it unfolds. lol
This is why I don't like starting a series that I don't like, by abandoning it I feel things are left unfinished.

I cant say that it got more interesting, just more shenanigans by Incompetent Kaz.

I think it's more interesting in the possibilities that may be afoot. I guess I need to put a spoiler alert here, in case anyone reading this hasn't watched the 2/17 episode.

With Poe heading to a mission on Jaaku, that sounds like the beginning of TFA. So it would seem that the rest of this season will either lead up to the events of TFA/TLJ, or happen during the timeframe of TFA/TLJ. In either case, it makes for interesting possibilities next season. For example, it would be cool to see people talking of the legend of Luke Skywalker and what he did on Crait, as well as the destruction of the New Republic and Starkiller base (if the public actually know about that). And then you have to wonder if Season 2 will take part contemporaneously with Episode IX, or will Episode IX jump forward several years, and the rest of Resistance will take part between TLJ and IX. That's what I find interesting about this - not necessarily what Kaz is running around doing.

I agree with a lot of this. The Poe comic book that primarily centered around finding the old dude with the map and the comic lasted 30 issues, so it's quite possible the show could have another season leading up to The Force Awakens.

This has me curious too, because the first two movies of the ST happen very quickly. Days, not weeks. The only downtime between Jakku and Crait is *perhaps* a few days between Starkiller base being destroyed and the base on Illenium being attacked. Which means, for the show, they'd probably find out about all of it at once.

That's one aspect that I'll be curious to see how they handle in the show. At the end of the last episode, Poe was clearly in the X-Wing that gets blown to bits by the First Order on Jakku, and he's obviously got BB-8 with him, so I get the feeling that the events of TFA are going to be happening fairly soon. Even though TFA and TLJ seemingly occurring over only days, the writers could still slow down time in the upcoming episodes, or they could jump past both movies quickly. I still don't think this is a great show, but I'm starting to feel these upcoming episodes might have been worth the build up.

Any idea how much time elapsed in those 30 issues?

I know this show didn't get off to a great start and made alot of people give up on it early, but I'm telling you guys now that the last half of this season is really good and well worth your time. From about episode 12 on it really picks up! There's 3 episodes you could skip altogether - 3, 8, and 11, but if you just watched 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10, and 12-21, you'll get the meat of season 1.

The episode I saw Kaz witnessed the destruction of his home world. Which I believe was the same planet destroyed by Star Killer Baze. Also the Tem character gets taken willingly by the first order. The Colossis turns out to be a Starship as well. Hope these aren’t spoilers. I find it annoying that Kaz didn’t tell Tem that the First order destroyed his home world.

I talked all kinds of **** about this show. Thumbs down voted the trailers. Acted pretty ignorant...

Wound up absolutely loving it and binge watching the whole season on Disney NOW.

The finale was fantastic. There are some really cool PT call outs throughout the entire season (totally Wizard...!). The juvenile nature is there but by the middle of the season it really steps aside. This show finally gave Phasma something to do and the way it synched up with TFA was executed very well.

I'm unfortunately not really looking forward to Season 2 because it's probably going to tie in to the abomination known as TLJ. But for what this was I thought it was great and fit in nicely with what I consider to be end of the canon (TFA).

It really sucks that TLJ just absolutely destroyed this era of Star Wars for me.

Edit (and spoiler):

Considering that the Colossus may NOT not be going to D'Qar...is it possible that they end up in the Unknown Regions and happen to come across Ezra and Thrawn? Thrawn would be pretty old but Ezra wouldn't and who knows what kind of shenanigans those ridiculous space whales could have come up with that mess with the ageing of Thrawn and Ezra. After all Filoni is involved here and he seems to like keeping his characters involved throughout shows. Probably a real long shot but who knows...

I got to see the first episode of Season 2 at the Resistance panel on Monday. The only thing I'll give away is that it picks up right where Season 1 ends. Minutes later.

Oh yeah, and it's good. Realllll good.

I was surprised to find no thread for the show.

With the announcement that season two will be the last I thought having a place to commiserate or complain would be in order.

Have you enjoyed the show? Hated it? Not watched?

What might be next with it ending?

So, the new trailer looks good! Only 2 seasons of this show, but I think it was planned that way.

The 2nd season has been pretty good so far up until the latest episode. It was the first straight "filler" episode of this season and it sucked.

I do like this show though and I was adamantly and obnoxiously against it when it was announced.
