Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi - 1/6th scale Darth Vader Figure

You gotta love Hot Toys way of thinking their advertising. Lets display a regular Vader at summer shows so fans will believe they might be getting a ANH 2.0 before an eventual OWK battle damages version. Then, out of nowhere, we'll put that BD Vader up for PO and tease a Grand Inquisitor as well so they are caught of guard.

Looks like they are prepping an Inquisitor and Reva release, both of which most likely won't sell well.

I am holding for the Andor releases, I expect a re-released Death Trooper Specialist, and a new Shoretrooper with short rifle release from that show.

Vader coming with Reva's sabers doesn't bode well for a Reva figure future release.

I'll need to see the price different between regular & deluxe. I would still display the battle-damaged version anyway so regular version is good for me. If the deluxe isn't too much expensive than regular, maybe i'll buy it.

Is this the new "definitive" HT Vader? Looks like the RO version with extra stuff.

$295/$330 Standard/Deluxe. No one should buy the Standard. Ultimately gets you an incomplete figure.

18 day window timed release for the Sideshow exclusive version with Grand Inquisitor hologram.

Again, timer is only for the SSC exclusive hologram. Both non exclusive Standard/Deluxe versions are not timed releases. Only order the exclusive/Special Edition within 18 days if you want the hologram.

POed a deluxe but i might get a regular down the road (when available in stock). I could use another clean Vader in one of my displays.

Not as bad as anticipated, was expecting $350 for the deluxe.

Have only dabbled in a couple 1/6th scale figures and have been thinking that I need a Vader. I know the information is only announcement-based, but is there any reason to think the deluxe version of this isn't the right call? In other words, would a one-time buyer be better off paying more for one of the already-released Hot Toys versions... or less for the Sideshow ROTJ one?

Got the deluxe special edition; don't really care about the hologram but if it's an add on with no extra charge why not. I never pass on Vader

Debating on putting money down on this or waiting for ROTS Vader in a couple years.

There will likely be another Vader. Not garanteed it will be a ROTS version though. A ROTJ could be announced next year or maybe one based on the Ahsoka series as Hayden Christensen is rumored to be part of the series.

Hot Toys will milk Vader as much as they can, because they know it is a figure of a character which sells. There are collectors who only want particular Vaders in their collection, but most collectors don't care, they just want the iconic villain, no matter from what film or series. So HT will definitely do a ROTS and a ROTJ version in the future, as well as other Vaders seen in various films and series.

If we're getting a ROTS version, i hope HT will go all out and offer a 2-Pack with charred Anakin with removable limbs along a pristine suit Vader. With some luck, Hot Toys will also be generous enough to release an accessory pack with operation table and droïds

20th Anniversary of ROTS in 2025 so that's what I was thinking.

Reissue would be good but i'd rather get AOTC Obi and Ani instead.

Very nice! That's cool it comes with a light-up chest panel. That is something I always wish the RO Vader had. Not saying I'll sell mine and upgrade, but I may watch for the OWK Vader to get parted out and pick up a chest panel.

Later batch PO in HK. Crossing fingers it doesn't take another 3 to 4 months to ship.
