Welcome back, Rebel Scum. It sames like such a short time ago that Celebration Europe 2023 ended, but we are already looking forward to Celebration Japan in April of 2025!

Check out the latest from StarWars.com:
Next year, X-wings, TIE fighters, Jedi, and Sith will make the jump to a special rendezvous point: Japan.

Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 is set for April 18-20, 2025, at the Makuhari Messe. This will be the first Star Wars Celebration held in Japan since 2008, and today StarWars.com is excited to reveal the show’s official key art — a beautiful image blending iconography of the galaxy far, far away with that of its host country. Check it out below.

The key art has been created in the traditional Japanese black ink painting style known as sumi-e, with Darth Vader placed in the foreground. Brush strokes extend from the Sith Lord to the branches of a cherry blossom tree, leading to AT-ATs, X-wings, and TIE fighters. The Rising Sun of the Japanese flag balances the image, with Mount Fuji featured in its center.

Also announced today, tickets for Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 will go on sale Thursday, May 2, at 4 p.m. PST / 7 p.m. EST, and Friday, May 3, at 8 a.m. JST. Stay tuned to StarWars.com and StarWarsCelebration.com for further details.

Star Wars Celebration is the world’s biggest official Star Wars event, featuring amazing reveals, panel discussions, autograph opportunities, and much more. We would be honored if you would join us.

I don't know if the Rebel Scum company paddle boat is insured for cross-Pacific travel, so it remains to be seen if we'll make an appearance there, but never say never. Here's a look back at our coverage from Celebration Anaheim 2022:

The Star Wars Underworld Network guys talked yesterday about the upcomming Japan Celebration in their podcast.

It's available as regular podcast episode and as a youtube video.

The whole panel reservation process for the big panels each day was a joke. Each ticketholder has to make their own reservation, so you are not guaranteed to get the same panels as the other people in your party. Plus whoever gets into the lottery in the first batches can get all the panels all at once and leave nothing for those that had to wait.

Each day should have been processed individually, and we should have been able to submit or requests ahead of time like last celebration and not have to be online at the exact moment the tickets went up.

If anyone is from Germany or can understand German. The new episode of the "Heir to the Empire" podast is about the Star Wars Celebration in Japan and about the programme and background of the attendees.

Is anyone already in Japan or travelling the in the next days? Different podcasters posted airport/airplane photos of their journey starting the holiday & celebration season.
Looking forward to the livestreams and I hope we will see another Clone Wars panel with Filoni, his famous friends and co-workers, and many voice actors.

It's strange this year that you can't see most of the panels re-live. The Day1 video on the starwars website says "This video is private". This is not cool for Star Wars fans at home.

I saw that too. I'd bet that it will be re-upped again but with some editing done to it. Cutting out content perhaps?

A familiar SW podcaster in my city told me that this year only parts of the main panel will be available and no small panels.

I will try to watch some streams live now but in Europe Day2 starts at 3-4 am in the morning. This is an unpleasant time.

Thanks for sharing @ManWalrus! I will view your photos this evening in peace with a cold coke!

Watched parts of the main stage guests and dialogues re-live. Liked that almost all Andor actors were on stage together. I like the outro video of the celebration.

Hope you have some nice days left in Tokyo and Japan. Safe travels back for you and company!

Why not on the East coast ever? New York and New Jersey have ample convention spaces.

..or maybe Essen Germany again. The hotels here and in the surrounding cities are all affordable and have a lot of capacity. There are a lot of bars, restaurants, parks and a good public transport and train infrastructure. There are daily flights from the US/Europe to Dusseldorf and you even can make it a day trip from the most cities in Europe per (car)/train/plane.
The fair in Essen has expanded and become more modern in the last few years and helds the biggest boardgame fair in Europe (or worldwide) every year.

Munich would be incredible too!

Munich is a nice and clean place but very expensive, especially if any events/fairs held in the city. Unfortunately they increase the hotel rates (like in the October Fest period and specialised fairs) and you have a lot of traffic and less nightlife.
After USA in 2027 I guess it will be Europe/UK again then (or Australia?).
