Let's be positive, things will be back to normal by 2022, we will attend Cele. to the best of our abilities and have fun! there's a lot of time to save up money(get the jobs back!) make costumes by the tons. But, this will be remembered as the "Year of the Covid". ( and... chaos and mayhem)

I have feeling that once the elections are over things will return to normalcy, at least the new normal.

The after effects of people being extremely cautions of others out of fear may last a while.

Let's not live in fear now! but the effects of this crud are going to last possibly, years before we can live life the way we knew before. Lets strive for the "old normal" but begin living in a cleaner world.

Anyone having trouble processing a refund?

i just get validation error every time I submit the request.

i contacted lyte and now it seems they cancelled my four day pass when I wanted my four single day tickets cancelled. Geez! I don’t even know now what tickets I have and what have been cancelled or where my refund is. Very confusing.

Sending out a plea to anyone who transferred their ticket to the 2022 con - I would love to get one of the Millennium Falcon Geeky Tiki Punchbowl sets, but I'm guessing they'll be gone by next Friday. Willing to pay $150 + shipping ($30 over cost). If possible, I'd prefer to have it shipped directly to me to save on double shipping cost and potential damage. Will pay via paypal immediately.

Even if you got a refund, you're still eligible for the early shopping window.

I never had a ticket at all, so to modify my plea - I will pay $150 + shipping to ANYONE who can purchase one of the MF Geeky Tiki punchbowls for me before they sell out.

Edited to update - A great member on here was able to help me get one!

Thanks!

Just jumping in here as I feel I may need to attend a Star Wars Celebration again soon. I attended CIII in Indianapolis, CIV in LA, and CV in Orlando, but haven't been back... no real reason. 2022 will be 12 years since I've been to one and I just got the urge to go now. Hoping I can still get a ticket...

While Celebrations have greatly grown since CV (which was my 1st one), the excitement of attending is a must need for all of us. Hope you can make it to the next one.

Yeah, that con was a month after I attended C2E2 in Chicago in Feb 2020.

I'm grateful that show happened before the madness began.

I was at C2E2 myself. Wasn't going to go with two other vacations planned that year. REALLY glad I went.

Everything started going down south really quick afterwards.

I kind of wish it wasn't Memorial Day weekend, flights are going to be very expensive.

Reed moved the date probably because Disney wants to make up for profits lost during the virus mess, May is a good time for this, even with restrictions! people will suffer greatly if the restrictions are not lifted, heat, crowds-with restrictions in place, masks in the heat, very long lines with restrictions in the heat and inside buildings! the costume restrictions! I got that notification minutes ago and if things don't change, I will refund my precious ticket, enough is enough.

Did anyone else see the news about the dates moving and for a few moments think that convention was going to be this month because I did.

Its not like I have tickets or anything I was just excited for new reveals.

You are not alone. I had to do a double-take and really read the year.

I really would like to know WHY they moved the dates. That is Memorial Day Weekend and the Airfares and Hotels will be Expensive. I'm going earlier on the 21st and coming home on June 4th now. My Family is going to ENJOY Disneyland and stay in our Disney Timeshare out there. My wife said maybe it was moved up since the original dates were too close to D23. My wife and I were planning on attending that show but now we'll need to make a second trip out to the west coast in September. Oh Well at least it's a little closer now !!!!!!

They moved the dates because it's a holiday and Disney wants to make up for lost profits of the last year due to the virus trouble. what better way to profit than have several of your franchises having events going on at the same time.

I also suspect that since the D23 Expo is scheduled September 9-11, 2022, Disney didn't want 2 big shows back-to-back, or they didn't think they could handle 2 big shows that close to each other.

Plus, getting more money earlier in the year probably was appealing. As for Memorial Day Weekend, not a great choice, but weekend slots at convention center are pretty limited.

Ah! but now we can get back to normal! gone with the masks! gone with the virus-suddenly! Antman, with the virus disruption in revenue for a year(or so) and with the restrictions being removed(I wonder if the businesses knew about this earlier?) lots of money can now be made during Memorial Day. If there are people out there who cannot return to pre-virus life, I feel sorry for them. Let's get pumped!

Uh-oh, beware of virus protocols! will Cele. go on or will restrictions be put in place? If restrictions are in place by May, I'm not going. the torture of restrictions at a Cele. or any other Con. makes the trip not worth it. How many of you, with Reeds virus rules would go still?

If the only restriction is wearing a mask then I am good to go. I had to wear a mask for the entire past school year
so I'm used to being masked up for an entire day.
If Reed is going to try and enforce social distancing I say good luck with that. Distancing will be an impossibility at celebration
unless they are going to limit the number of attendees and have the wuhan police out in full force.
Wear your mask and keep a bottle of sanitizer in your pocket.
The bigger question may be celebrities and panels. Will the guests be willing to attend with severe restrictions in place and how
will keeping people spaced apart be enforced during the panels?
Will we have to show our vaccination card to enter the convention center?
How many vendors will actually show up if restrictions are in place?
If California suffers another severe infestation of the virus will their illustrious governor put limitations on flights coming in
to the state and drastically reduce the attendance numbers?
Lots of potential questions. Hope we don't have to have answers.

ID13238, I like your attitude, have you read Reeds restriction guidelines on their site? they are extreme! no fan or dealer would have any sort of fun or real profit from attending any con. with those guidelines. Celebrities? I think they would cancel just to be safe due to the way things would be set up. As for the mask thing, you might as well glue the thing on your face,, you wear it on the plane, in the airport, hotel, transportation, hotel your staying at, convention center-Disneyland, All day log maybe 20 hours a day depending on where you are, what you are doing. your face will get so bad, you'll want to wear Vader's helmet, to disguise the "damage" to you skin !. A lot of people get after me for saying these things, but it's reality, with all the restrictions put out by Calif. and Reed. Cele. may end being sort of miserable for everyone- . Please go to Reeds site and see what they have posted on this.

I called Reed today and asked about the virus restrictions and they said there have been no updates on them , ECCC and Cele. are still a go for Dec. and next year . when an update comes in, everyone will know.

No real point in asking now since things are constantly changing. We'll probably see an update in April. And even then, things could change the day before the con, if restrictions loosen or strengthen.

Yup, I have checked out reeds unfun and unrealistic and uninspiring restrictions.
My plan is to go in costume for at least 2 of the days. The nazi mask enforcement policy
makes it a little easier to choose which of my 7 costumes I would wear.
One day as a Jedi and one day as a dark Jedi.
Neither outfit requires a helmet or costume mask so if I have to wear the anti viral mask
it wont screw up my costume.

Good work! you can be one of those Sith who wear the half breath mask or disguise a cloth or paper one to look like the breath mask. Why can't people wear helmets or costume masks?(like a Jar-Jar!) your face and head are covered with a helmet and other sorts of masks can cover the face too. to me, that's all that important, cover the nose and mouth. But wait! a new rule may come up that says you must drink liquids through a mask! (exageration of the Australian alchohol rule) How about a nice biohazard suit ! Who knows what will happen.

I wonder if Galactic Nights is still going to be a thing?
I missed out on tickets before the cancellation and was hoping for another chance, but with nine months to go Disneyland hasn't announced any Disney After Dark events at all for this year. Maybe it's not happening?

If I wear a biohazard suit to celebration can I get away with saying that I am a member of the Death Star mass casualty unit and I saved Emperor Palpatine from the radiation "fallout" during his travels down the reactor shaft???

It's a shame there can't be a cosplay check for safety masks under costume masks like there is to make sure prop weapons aren't harmful. Seeing the cosplayers is a big part of the fun and Celebration in particular won't be the same without Stormtrooper helmets everywhere.
But a lot can change in nine months- hopefully for the better.
It will be interesting to see how Reedpop's other events leading up to Celebration go and how that informs their policies going forward.
Fingers crossed that SuperCon in Miami next month avoids becoming SuperSpreaderCon.
