Just a heads up that Lucasfilm will be releasing some OT and PT steelbooks in August as well as a new package for the complete set, most likely the same content as before...

Each cover looks like they’ve been airbrushed by a magic wand. The seams, the tattoo patterns, and the little cracks making their way down the skull-like forehead tell us so much without a single word accompanying them. Imperfections never looked so perfect.

As fans count down the days until the long-awaited seventh episode of the Star Wars saga, they’ll have something else to look forward to as the first six will be released as commemorative Blu-ray steelbooks for a limited time on November 10, with pre-orders beginning on August 7. Each film comes with beautiful new character packaging that include Darth Maul for The Phantom Menace, Yoda for Attack of the Clones, General Grievous forRevenge of the Sith, Darth Vader for A New Hope, an Imperial stormtrooper for The Empire Strikes Back, and Emperor Palpatine for Return of the Jedi. Star Wars: The Complete Saga will also be released in newly-repackaged artwork on October 13.

In addition to the collectible steelbook packaging, each Blu-ray disc features existing audio commentary with George Lucas and the film crew as well as audio commentary from archival interviews with the cast and crew.

The Complete Saga includes all six feature films on Blu-ray, along with three additional discs containing more than 40 hours of previously-released extensive special features.

Who's going to pick these movies up again?

I'll be passing, already have the box set from a couple years ago. Though the Steelbook are enticing! :grin:
The only way I'd pay Money for these movies again, is for the Original Theatrical release w/o all the lame fixes.

ROTJ stormtrooper on the cover of ESB? ROTS vader on the cover of ANH?

the PT cover art seems self-evident, at least I know which movies I'm looking at... but the OT ones, I had to glance twice and sort them out, because they don't evoke the title of the movie they represent. that vader doesn't say 'ANH'; that stormtrooper says 'ROTJ'; and the emperor looks vaguely reminiscent of ROTS. :p

they all seem to be based on airbrushed photos (PT included) -- it just seems weird that they didn't use photos from the actual movies in question LOL.

specifically, the ROTS photo for ANH, just seems kind of weird.. for a second I thought that WAS ROTS. LOL it had me confused for a second

Not too concerned about the packaging, I just want to know which versions of the movies will be included in those sets. Is it too much to hope for these to include the unaltered versions of the OT?

for ANH the commissioned about 2 dozen trooper lids from shepperton design studio; for ESB they repainted the survivors;
for ROTJ they tried to make more 'in house' at LFL, and the mold collapsed.. :\

so the ROTJ troopers have a 'skinny face' compared to ANH and ESB ... also the mouth on ROTJ is painted dark black, where the ANH trooper is battleship gray.
(mostly, the mouth is what gives it away)
