Did you guys see Eaglemoss raised the price of the standard Star Trek starships to $40.00 a piece, and the store exclusives are now $48.00?! This is the US website. After issue 180, I think I'm out! Not even sure when my pre-order from Diamond at my comic store will get them, or when my store will be open again. I preordered them at the recent lower price, so we'll see what happens if my store raises it.

The new site is nice, except for the constant newsletter sign up pop up. I still need to order Archer's Toy Starship, but I'm waiting for them to add some more new stuff to get the discounts/free shipping.

Tangent: Does anyone know when Eaglemoss will add Orville and Rick and Morty stuff?

Think you were seeing the prices offered to Canada for a while there, which, incidentally, is why I haven't used the US shop. Ack! Gag! Barf!
Glad to see Diamond's shipping again, but no ships are imminent yet, sorry to say.

No dates but Orville should be quite soon, contingent on the Rona.
No further word at all about R&M from EM but the Hot Wheels saucer should be out soon.

I received the concept Reliant but no magazine. I emailed EM about a month ago. The reply was back ordered but no release date.

I received the Concept Reliant magazine a couple days back. It's one of the nicer ones in terms of images.

I've spoken before about not caring for the STO design aesthetic, but I have to admit that they make beautiful miniatures, and the ships they have chosen are certainly among those with the strongest designs. I like how with some of these Federation vessels they have taken and updated Discovery designs. They seem more comfortable in this era.

What's the bluish craft at the back? It almost looks Krenim-inspired to me.

Haven't the foggiest, Boss. My pal who has access to Diamond's catalogue hasn't seen anything on long-range radar yet, and yeah, it's quite vexing. Ben indicated that he's not sure if the final issues are gonna be carried by Diamond, though they've been offered to them. Fingers crossed.

Yeah it could be awhile. Especially with the recent DC/Diamond bombshell.

I did luck out and was able to get the classic Galactica and Gold Enterprise-D this week from my local guy. He got in the Blackbird, Scar and the XL Enterprise-J but I had to be selective until I can afford some more. At least I didn't have to go through Eaglemoss themselves to get them in Canada.

Forgot to add that he wasn't able to get Colonial One or Blood and Chrome Viper in yet, so it is definitely something to do with availability of stock for Canada's market even though it is in stock on Eaglemoss' US site.

FYI: Diamond's now offering up to (and including) issue 180 on some retailer sites like Midtown Comics, so it looks like we should be golden. Eventually. Phew. ;)

Wow. After the XL K'Tinga, I haven't secured anything. I like a couple STO ones, but not sure I'll bite without seeing them in person.

Still want that XL Stargazer...starting to get scared I may never see it.

Love it!! The gold doesn't photograph well. I have the Gold D (cheaper than Eaglemoss' ridiculous price).

It is quite nice, and shiny, in person. Probably due to the real gold plating instead of a gold paint/Chrome. So I'll get this as well, as long as my local guy can get it in as well.

Sorry Darth, that was me who won that auction

Trying to build my white lightning collection. So far have the pearlescent Reliant, Galileo and NX-01, and have the Romulan BOP on the way. Got a cloaked ISS NX-01 too. At one point I had the green Borg Cube but stupidly sold it

Hehe, that's great that you, a member of our family, won it, and I'm happy to report that I never bid on it to make it more expensive for ya.
Lol, might've been me who bought the green cube from you, if you sold it last year. :)

That's a great score, I need 4 of those WLs (all but the Defiant) but the add-ons (eBay's stupid Global Shipping Program, argh) made them too rich for my blood. Hope you'll take some pics of 'em, I'm trying to assemble a complete, loose WL gallery for MA, and have some major holes, mostly from Series 3, 4, and 6. :)

Ah thanks guys! I didn't expect to win, just bid, went to bed and woke up in the morning having won it. Hopefully they'll be here next weekend.

That probably was me if the cube came from the UK! Such a small world!

Yes the GSP is most of the time pretty horrendous with shipping charges, but then as a seller I love that all I need to do is get it to the shipping center in my country, after that ebay is responsible. Twice now for me something has gone missing in the destination country. Annoying for the buyer but they get a refund from ebay and I got to keep the original payment.

More than happy to help out with some pics for MA if I can, let me know :)

Whew, nope my cube came from the US, come to think of it. I'm still looking for the green one with the explosions, though.

Yep, the GSP is wonderful for a seller, a nightmare for a tax-evading, cheapskate buyer. :devilish:

If you'd take shots similar to these of the ones you're about to get (nothing fancy required) , I'd very much appreciate it, cheers.
I'll make a pwopa list of the others I'm looking for, maybe folks will chip in, for the cause.

Tomy has the molds for these now, right? If so, do they retain a license, or have the option to reup it? (maybe via Platz?) I believe F-Toys inherited Furuta's, and they revisited a production after a few years, so I wonder if the return of JL in some fashion really is a dead duck after all.

Most especially now, if EM is calling it quits for the mainline series, and QMx dropped the ball on their own line (which they did, let's face it). All we have had otherwise for comparable models are Mattel for limited diecast...and maybe JLs...and frankly, I'd much prefer JLs with how far they went with variants.

Also, I think there's precedent if Tomy did do more. They introduced ZOIDS, marketed it as ROBOSTRUX in the states, then when that market dried up went back to ZOIDS in Japan for years afterward. Needless to say, I wouldn't care what they were called or if under the Tomy or Platz banner. It would be great if Round 2 could distribute them in the USA, of course, but just another run anywhere would probably be sought out by Diamond and others to get them to us.

Seems a feasible scenario...

squidgey, as much as I want to sympathize, GSP has KILLED the international market on eBay. I quite literally buy 30-40% of what I used to from UK sellers now, and probably 60% of my purchases over the last few years were from the UK. I am not alone in that either (You can look at the eBay community forum). Plus, add that eBay has instituted tax collection (Yes, it's not them, and we all should have paid the G-Men prior) and it does affect purchasing. When a seller agrees to go to the ol' post office after my asking if that's possible before I even bid garners a bigger sigh of relief than when I win the damned thing. That is not how things should be.

Is there a website that shows all the JL Star Trek ships with variants, protos, etc. I believe I have a complete basic set for all series, but I might have a chase one here and there. It's been so long!

I agree, the line's resurrection with (or without) more variants is certainly not impossible, if R2, Platz, or Tomy still hold that license. Hard to predict the ways of JP, it is.

Gotcha covered, Boss, this is the page I wanna further update with loose pics of the White Lightnings.

But I'd take close-up hull shots of them while in their packages too, if they do the trick.
And it's very possible that a few of 'em have never been freed. :)

So anyhoo, these are White Lightning ships I don't have decent pics of:

Series 2
- USS Reliant (showing Delta Shield location)

Series 3
- Romulan BoP (cloaked with bird graphic on belly)
- USS Enterprise-D (pearlescent white)
- USS Voyager (pearlescent white)

Series 4
- Borg Cube w/ sphere (all-silver)
- USS Enterprise-A (silver)
- USS Enterprise-D (silver)
- USS Majestic (silver)
- USS Voyager (silver)

Series 6
- Borg Cube (green with explosions)
- Romulan D7 (pearlescent white)
- USS Excalibur (pearlescent white)
- USS Yamato (pearlescent white)
Feel free to post 'em here or hit me up via a PM, cheers guys. :)

Wow. I didn't realize that there were that many separate waves. I'm missing a bunch of them, I guess.

Gonna' dig out the box and see what I have, but it's not all of them by any means...

The hero ship, USS Cerritos, from the new animated show Lower Decks has popped up online today. Curious design, reminiscent of some of the kit-bashed vessels from TNG's Best of Both Worlds. I get the lower decks joke and think it is cute but, with that in mind, I am surprised that the arrow doesn't point to the secondary hull. If I was offered the chance to tweak it, I'd make the nacelles and nacelle pylons more like those on the Galaxy class so they were more visually in sync with the saucer and engineering hull, and maybe shorten the height of the pylons so the ship isn't so tall, but I can get behind it as a mid-sized, slightly awkward, unremarkable ship of the line.

Interestingly the Sphere is attatched to the Cube with a bendy bit of plastic rather than a solid rod like the regular version.

Very pleased to have these in my collection, just need to find a few spare stands now

As for the USS Cerritos, the more I look at it the more I quite like how tall it is

Holy smokes, Squidge, those pics will be perfect, many thanks, mate! I'll be doing an update very soon and I'll give you a heads up here. :)
I'm not 'arf jealous, that is an absolutely fantastic haul, just gorgeous. Good on ya. :)

From early JL reports, the sphere was originally gonna be removable, so I wonder of yours is?

Hmmm, can't say the Cerritos is arousing my starship porn sensibilities much, seems pretty rudimentary, not much voosh. But maybe it'll grow on me...

Hey all! I need your help to get the word out, if you're willing!

While not directly related to this topic, many of you probably know about the Star Trek Graphic Novel Collection by Eaglemoss. Rich Handley came onboard as the Editor as of volume 72 and the quality has been kicked up several notches under him, including the inclusion of extremely rare Trek comics we never would have imagined would be included. Did you even know there were 2 exclusive Brazilian comics from the Gold Key era? I didn't! So if you were a subscriber early on and were disappointed with the collection, it's a different beast now.

Rich did an interview with The Trek Collective recently in which he explained that there are only 20 more volumes needed to collect every Star Trek comic from 1967 to 2020. However, Eaglemoss is considering not doing the final 20 volume extension due to sales (mostly due to the global pandemic affecting sales I wager).

It would be a serious tragedy if this series was cut short so close to the finish line. This opportunity to have every Trek comic reprinted and collected in a single physical collection may never come again. Rich has asked us to all get the word out and encourage anyone who was on the fence to subscribe, buy some volumes from the online store, or spread the word to show Eaglemoss that they should do one more extension to complete the series.

So if you've been thinking about subscribing or buying a few odd stories, or if you know someone who would, now is the time!

I'd also ask that if any of you are willing, please share this info in any other Star Trek or comic fan circles you might know, post of FB, Tweet at Eaglemoss Collections, etc using the hashtag #CompleteTheSTGNC. We're also starting a sort of letter writing campaign (like was done with TOS back in the day) to these emails if you want to send a quick message of support:

Ben Robinson, Editorial manager brobinson@eaglemoss.co.uk (not .com)
Chris Thompson, Head of Marketing christhompson@eaglemoss.co.uk (not.com)
Eaglemoss Customer Support customerservice@eaglemoss.com

I've proposed several suggestions to Eaglemoss to boost sales or justify this final extension, and you are welcome to send them whichever one's you think would work too:
1. Do a Kickstarter/Pre-order for the final 20 and let the fans/collectors fund them
2. Sell the New Visions subscriber-only volumes on their online store
3. Sell dust covers for those who want to protect/rearrange the collection (can't be that expensive to make)
4. Offer curated bundles of volumes by publisher or series (like all 4 Voyager volumes together, or the complete first Marvel run in a bundle)
5. Sell some combination of Comic/Bust/Starship bundles (ideal for gifts)
6. Raise the price of these final 20 volumes (the increase in quality justifies a price increase)
Even if you have absolutely no interest in this collection, please consider helping out in some way. Eaglemoss has done amazing things for the fans in the Starship Collection...it seems a shame they would be willing to abandon the Graphic Novel Collection fans just before the end.

If you do nothing, thank you for at least reading my post. I'm very passionate that this series should see completion, and you guys have been very kind and welcoming to me (not to mention I blame all of you for making me an Eaglemoss Starships collector when I was just a humble Micro Machines collector 😋 )

So I got a call from my local comic book shop that #166, 170-173 had come in and we're ready to pick up.

$197(Cdn) later and the end is nigh.

Thank god this is coming to an end. After staring years ago at $25 all in (each,), it is now $35+tax. It has just gotten too crazy, not to mention the specials and XLs. Thankfully I have a guy who has better pricing on the specials and XLs (and BSG). It just sucks that he can't get the regular STSS in in a timely manner. He is about 20 behind and it very inconsistent for them.

Anyway it will be over soon and I can stick with BSG and the odd ship here and there from the other Star Trek lines.

I hear you, bro! After issue 180 it will be all over for me too. I never got issues 164 and 165 from my comic store, but I ordered them.

Yep, same here, Diamond hasn't shipped 156, 164, and 165 yet but I'm otherwise caught up to 173, too.
My local comic shop has been excellent for ordering 'em and I'd still be game for another 20 or so, tbh.

Hoping they do a Star Trek Universe line and combine all of the ships from every show. Also hope EM keeps making canon and concept ships in "condo size", something they seems to be moving away from, I'm sorry to see.

ICYMI guys, there's a (mainly) STO ship panel with EM/HC at 1:15 pm PT tomorrow (11 July), deets are here:

Speaking of STO ships, I've spotted on the reverse of the Bortas'qu packaging an extension to the line. Now up to 13 ships, they've added

  • USS Avenger
  • IKS Mogh
  • IKS Mat'ha
  • RRW Aelahl
This is getting pricey :D
