After watching Avatar for the 50th time, I was thinking how cool it would be to see the gunships and AMP suits in titanium diecast form. Got to thinking and thought of other sci-fi vehicles I would like to see in titanium form:

Alien (Nostromo and Narcissus)
Aliens (Sulaco, dropship, APC)
Alien Resurrection (the Betty)
League of Extrordinary Gentlemen (Captain Nemo's sub and car)
Serenity/Firefly
Starship Troopers

Care to add to the list?

My wish list...along with the above:

Terminator HK's: Aerial (all versions), tank, Motor-Terminator, Harvester
Black Hole: Cygnus, Palomino, Probe ship, VINCENT & BOB
Buck Rogers: Starfighter, Draconian Marauder, Ardala's flagship, Hawk's ship.
Mad Max: V-8 Interceptor, dirty V-8 (Road Warrior), Gyrocopter, Humungus vehicle
2001/2010: Pan Am clipper, Moon shuttle and bus, Discovery, Leonov

Not sure if you know this but all of the Aliens ship you mentioned are made in Titanium size (but not diecast) by Konami, and there's a small MM/TS-sized Betty that came with the Alien Aqua figure.
Diecast would be sweet, though.

Beside those, I'd also love to see Titanium-sized ships from:
2001/2010
Riddick
Matrix
5th Element
Dune
HHGTTG
Galaxy Quest
Star Trek XI
and many, many others....

Shame that Hasbro dropped the Stargate ships they were planning to do as Titaniums.

Deak, Corgi made a James Bond "Little Nellie" Gyrocopter that's TS size... I've got one. There's also a set of Mad Max stuff from Japan but it's pricey... and probably too big.

I'm with you guys on the Alien films and Starship Troopers, and I would have liked to have seen more on the BSG front.

I'd also like to see:
Babylon 5
Stargate
Farscape
GI Joe

E...

Can we get a Satellite of Love (MST3K)?

I agree with everything that was already mentioned. Especially with the Starship Troopers, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Farscape and Babylon 5.

I want to add:

Battle Beyond the Stars
-Malmori Warship
Last Starfighter
-Gunstar, Centauri's Car
Seaquest DSV
-Seaquest, Stingers, evil Bridger's Missile sub( I honestly don't remember the name)
TRON & TRON Legacy
-Recognizer, Light Cycles, Light Runner, Sarik's Carrier!!!

Deak_Starkiller, Hawk's ship from Buck Rogers is badazz!
That'd be cool to own. Has any company ever made that ship? A Japanese company? A garage kit?

Update: Here's my answer BattleBuck

Hey Darth,

Got any pics of those Konami Alien ships or the Betty? I know Micro Machines/Galoob made the Action Fleet gunship, APC, and Narcissus, all which I have and are awesome in detail. I know they also made the smaller micro machine versions of them. Would be nice to have some detailed diecast versions of them.

My hawk eyes see things that yours do not, Buck.
My hawk feet carry me gently over the alien terrain, Buck.

I always thought he was hilarious.

Minimodelmadness makes a small resin garage kit (4") of the Hawk ship but they're not selling 'em on eBay right now. I think they made a Seeker, too.
I can dig up their direct email, if you want it... drop me a PM.

Hey Lou,
I've got the MMs and the AFs too but the Konamis are even more nicely detailed... typically great Japanese sculpting, IMO. They are made of resin and come pre-painted.

If you want to see the Alien ships next to Titaniums for scale purposes, check out the "Wall" link in my signature below... they're all in there.

You gotta check out the (Aqua Alien) Betty that DS repainted... he did a fantastic job.

Interesting thread - I think a similar one popped up when the BSG Titanium line was announced. Its a shame that SW Titaniums are on hiatus - because without them, theres really no chance of seeing anything else.

Hasbro tried experimenting with other lines outside of SW and BSG with Indiana Jones, Transformers, etc - but found very little success. I think they could have expanded into other SyFy Channel properties (when they were on the air), but I doubt we'll ever see them now. That being said, I would have LOVED a Farscape line, even if it was only 1 wave of ships!

Awesome...if a Titanium is indeed made on this, I'd like to see that wing articulation, or in general some form of articulation on some of these suggestions that make these ships/vehicles stand out.

Good question.

I'd like to see the Ebon Hawk and Moldy Crow from the EU.

Babylon 5, Farscape, Space: Above and Beyond. How about the Discovery from 2010? or the Valley Forge from Silent Running? The Liberator from Blake's
7? The list is endless.

As for Buck Rogers, i always loved the Thunderfighter.

I made a custom 'titanium' of one of the ships I'd like to see the most - I really enjoyed the Dune miniseries that was on the SyFy Channel several years ago, and from the various ships that were on the show, I liked the Spacing Guild Heighliner the most. I scratch built the one below, its about the size of the Battlestar Pegasus from the BSG line. In the photo, I have her next to a miniature transport barge:

Dude! I recognized that one right away. Very nice job. I really liked the ships Dune (that mini-series in particular), but no one ever made any models of them. Is it hollow in the center?

We have just folded space from Ix...

Agreed, very nice. I really must get around to seeing the miniseries versions of Dune... I've only seen snippets so this Heighliner design is new to me. Quite nice.

I'm a big fan of the look (sets, costumes, ships, weird vibe) of David Lynch's Dune, though I'd have to say that the movie's deeply flawed.
Still, a it's a classic... especially the Guild Navigators and the mystical way they folded space in the film.

Thanks for the HM Lightcycle info, Bosski... looks sharp.

Thanks guys - and if you've never seen the Dune miniseries, you should really make the time to watch it, in my opinion its better than the original movie. They also did a second miniseries called Children of Dune, which rivals the first at some points.

I agree. Both Dune and Children of Dune were very well done and are well worth watching.

I wonder why they didn't continue to make the rest of the dune series?

Those Tron cycles look cool.

I'm right there with you, Darth_Duranium. I went to one day of SDCC '08 and pretty much disliked every minute of it, and it was a Thursday, not the busiest day by far. There were a few highlights, like meeting Richard Hatch and shaking Lou Ferrigno's massive hand, but mostly just a lot of pushy crowds. I did enjoy Celebration IV, and am looking forward to CV.

Agreed Jad... standing in line for hours amid the pushy crowds and ringing cash registers ain't my idea of a good time either. We met Shatner, Chewie (Mayhew), Neelix, Traci Lords(!), and Carrie Fisher among others, but to me the whole convention thing seemed more about naked greed than anything else. Couldn't wait to leave!

I picked up a Superman Returns "playset" at a dollar store last week, which came with Supes' Kryptonian spaceship. Not astounding but not too bad, methinks... here's a few pics.

For those of you, like myself, who weren't able to attend Comic Con check out the Tron Legacy trailer that was shown there: see it here

And be sure to watch it till the end

I definitely would want them to make one of those in addition to the Light Cycles!

Found, but didn't pick up these sets, at TRU this week. My wallet still has a hole from my TF/Joe finds this week until payday this coming Friday. I'm a sucker for Recognizers.

These are out at TRU already?!?!?

I have seen left-overs... Clu's Light Cycle. I'll wait to see if I ever see a complete set. They were tagged at $4.90! A welcomed sight, considering how much the Titanium Series ended up costing.

The TRON Legacy Die Casts are COOL!
laugh.gif
Dang, now I feel the need to run to TRU.....

got worried when BBTS sold out and I can't get to TRU until late in the week so I checked TRU.com. Bought a 'hero' and villan' pack at $10 each. Each pack has 3 vehicles so I'm good I think.

Checked on Entertainment Earth and Ebay and the only one NOT in the TRU packs is "Clu's Sentry's Light Cycle", which is just a yellow colored light cycle. Easy pass...

The Tron diecast vehicles do look pretty cool - I wish the company making them would expand to other Sci-Fi licenses. The other great thing about them is the pricepoint ($3.99) and the small packaging, compared to the bulky Titaniums.

They are nice. I managed to get the TRU exclusive 3-packs of heroes and villains. Great detailing. Can't wait for the movie to come out!

FYI: HW just released a 2011 version of the Back To The Future DeLorean so I grabbed one.
It's not too bad for a few bucks and it's a lot cheaper than the (much nicer) JL.
I didn't have one so it'll have to do for now. There are also a few new HW variants that I didn't get.

There's also a Japanese Bandai/Characars version from 2010 with far nicer wheels and detailing, but it's too expensive for me:

Very cool, just like the Ghostbusters Ectomobile, or Ecto–1, wasnt that made by HW too?

Yep dude, the Ecto's a new HW, too. I'd buy one if I came across it... and maybe a giant marshmallow guy, too!
smile.gif

I still pick up 1/64 Batmobiles, Batwings etc. so I look around that aisle at TRU occasionally.

Can't beat the price of HW cars, huh? Kills me how cheap they are.
Shame that Hasbro and DA never got the memo.

No worries Sidious, sorry about that, I wasn't sure to post it in here or not as technically it's a model kit and not a die-cast. All good :)

I'd buy that Daedalus in a heartbeat if it looked like that out of the box! I'm not even a SG fan but it's really nice painted. Good luck with yours, DW!

I came across some Dune toys from 1984 that I didn't know about. If they were a little more accurate and were less crude, I'd probably grab some.
Wish they'd made some spaceships, not just land vehicles, peeps, ...and worms.

Anyhoo, thought youze guys might be interested, if you haven't seen them before. I hadn't.

BTW, if you want a laugh, check out this site. Hilarious!

I love Dune, the miniseries is actually better than the movie in my opinion, and Children of Dune was good too, both were on the SyFy Channel years ago. I've always wanted to pick up a sandworm, but never got around to it...
