Couldn't resist ordering the painted version even though it's very expensive. I've asked them to upgrade to the metal ears when available

Rob from RSprops mentioned on their youtube channel the cast came from Gino, isn't this the same cast efx were using for their yet to be released "Legend" Boba Fett?

Machine Craft Replicas is selling the same helmet and for metal ears as well over at The Dented Helmet.

Later generations of this helmet have been in the wild since '12 of later generations. I've had one for awhile.

I'm thinking of just getting a raw cast. Already have a lovely ToEleven ESB painted by Blaidon Props. Not sure I need two painted helmets, unless I get one done as an RoTJ SE.
Since you already have one, how does it compare in size to FPH2, ToEleven etc?

I am getting a Machine Craft with the metal ears (Same generation as the RS).

I have a FPH2 and the sizing is pretty close to be honest. I am looking forward to comparing a 2nd generation to a 4th/5th generation. I plan on cutting the visor out of the current helmet I have.

My Fett helmets (not shown in my efx PCR and hasbro black series)

Great collection Rnbuda.

The only Fett helmet I have is the EFX, but had to jump on the RS one.

Is there a ROTJ Fett helmet out there with similar lineage?

Anyone know who is painting the RS ESB helmet? I know they had Jon Bird (Kill Stripe Studios) paint the Y-Wing helmets. I wonder if they will be calling on his services for this too.

Whilst I agree it’s not cheap and I’m glad I don’t need one. £1000/$1300 is probably cheaper than efx would’ve charged and this won’t be a second rate, mass factory paint job with unnecessary cleanup.

Well it's arrived. Looks like it may be missing some details but I'm not a Fett expert so have asked RS to clarifyFett Kill Strips.JPGFett Plaque.JPGFett Borden.JPGFett yellow line.JPG

The white smudge on the kill stripes and thumb print is missing

Borden connector is painted - not sure is it should be or not

There is a faint yellow line above the kill stripes - not sure if this is intentional or not

The display plaque was blank so need a replacement

Looks amazing to me Woody (although I know a lot less than you about the "correct" details). Congrats and hope you get your issues taken care of soon.
Had to Google Borden Connector...piece of dental equipment. Interesting.

Beautiful paint job, though it seems your right about the missing thumb smudge. Im pretty sure the yellow line you’re talking about is on the original helmet. As for the Borden, it’s part of the lineage casting of the original helmet. If it was left unpainted it would just be raw resin. The only way to change that would be to very carefully drill it out and replace it with an actual metal Borden.

Thanks for the input. Like you, I'm fairly certain the yellow line is intentional but not something I had seen before - so many details on a Fett helmet it's easy to miss something especially when I'm no Fett expert - but always worth checking. The borden, again, makes sense for it to be painted, but lots of differing pictures out there.

The white smudge on the kill stripe and thumb print below is probably the only real paint issue. These things can happen and I'm sure they will sort it out

It really is am amazing helmet and so much to take in. Every time I look at it I see something new

I would like to order one of these with the metal ear set, do they still take orders?

A few notes on the helmet. The colors look great!

Like you mentioned the bored shouldn’t really be painted that much, there should be metal exposed. It is missing the white thumb smear which is odd because the mold catches that physical area and you even see it in the pictures. It also looks like it is missing the white smear on the mandible and a few other pieces of SE specific weathering. Another thing is maybe it’s the pictures but the kill stripes look a little big. Any pictures of the back panels?

Yeah...some obvious paint elements missing, but the yellowing is part of it.
My EFX Fett has that same yellow coloring.
But it's interesting they left out the white smudge, when their earlier runs of it did have it, as does their pictures of it on their site.
Idk how they would rectify that.

Thanks for the input. Hadn't noticed the missing white smudge on the cheek. Here's a couple more pictures, sorry if they are not the bestSAM_7324.JPGSAM_7325.JPGSAM_7326.JPG

They probably will not be re-opening Fett commission orders until far into 2022. I asked them. lol
Who knows though. Things change sometimes.

After talking to RS I'm sending it back and they are going to fix the paint issues. Plaque will follow as they were all destroyed in the fire

I would not mind to wait, as long as they will be doing it.
