Which figure are you excited about the most in this set?

What a nice surprise to wake up to! I will definitely be ordering this set. Never thought I'd see the day when you could order a MOC Yak Face at retail!

Exciting news. Yak Face and Mon Mothma are great. I’m surprised they gave her a blaster instead of some kind of scepter or “stick” that some have joked all the ROTJ figures got. Maybe she uses it in some of the new media coming out?

The Gam Guard either looks very, surprised, has very high blood pressure or is on something due to those paint apps. 🤣

super excited for this set... just wish the Yak Face was carded on either a Tri-Logo or POTF card with coin. sign me up for 2 sets.

Noice! It'd be swell if they made them single carded available at some point, so we can get unreasonable numbers of ERG's. 🙃
i'm sure there will be quite a few reselling the reissues like ERG, ackbar etc. I for one will likely sell 1@ of Ackbar, ERG, and Gammy if i p/u 2 sets

When the rumors starting popping up about a ROTJ themed set of retro, I was less than excited. We knew there would be one new figure in the box. And five figures from the 80s. I have all of the figures from ROTJ from Kenner with the exception of one.... Yakface!!!

Wow!!! All I can say is well done to Hasbro!!! One of the hardest to obtain figures from the original run in a retro pack sold!!!!

Mon Mothma - for the new figure of the bunch I think this is a great choice. She ties in to several of the new shows and looks great!

Emperor's Royal Guard - This was one I have from the original run, but I only had one. The Emperor needs a guard an both sides of him. So another nice choice.

Gamorrean Guard - Another nice choice as he is essentially an army builder.

Admiral Ackbar - Probably the first ROTJ figure I got as a kid, and one of my favorites. Still cant complain here.

Wicket - Who doesnt love more Ewoks. I have the original, but maybe I will keep this one carded.

Anyways, I am really pleasantly surprised at this whole set. Didnt think I was gonna wind up wanting the other 5 characters to go with the one new one, but I like them all.

Great set! Loving the aliens and never before produced Mon Mothma. THIS is how you do a box set!

The eyes on that Gammie look weird though - reminds me of Gowron from DS9

That's exactly the weird look of the Gammie I remember he had back in the old days, and it creeped me out, hence the reason why I buried him in the sandbox and never pulled him out again 😂😂🙈😂😂

Great to see this set is still coming out. Glad Hasbro is finally taking on those repro sellers by releasing Yakface, happy I waited for them to reissue the figure, rather than buying a bootleg! I think the character choices are good, though I'd swap out Ackbar with another HTF Kenner release from POTF to be even more impactful. I love Ackbar, one of my favorites as a kid, but very common and easy to find.

Mon Mothma is a fan favorite that was never released in the 80s, which is sure to please many, just concerned she might not have the same selling power as other character choices, considering all her previous releases were pegwarmers. I'm happy to see her being made however and find it interesting that the outfit appears to be based on her RO costume, which has the noticeable tan dress variation. It could have been present in ROTJ as well, but I don't believe it was ever shown on screen or even in stills from the film.

hard to say really if Mon is based off ROTJ or RO as you really can't see the bottom of Mon Mothma's dress in ROTJ so its possible that the character wore the same dress in both films.

Well, they would have cleared the design with LFL, so perhaps the ROTJ costume had the tan / grey skirt, as well, but it was simply never visible. In every screen shot and still photo though, it appears that at least 3/4 length of the dress is the same color. I checked some reference books from ROTJ, and none have a full shot of the character either. The face and blaster also make me wonder if this is intended to cover multiple media sources, not only RO, but she might appear like this in the second season of Andor, perhaps even with a blaster. Could have been LFL saying, go with the RO dress, rather than how the POTF2 figure looked, and toss in a blaster to cover future media. Seems like it might be a stretch, but this could be the only 3.75 Mon Mothma they release going forward, so they might want to cover a few bases.

Would I rather the new figure be Princess Leia, in Ewok Village Dress? - yes.

Am I happy with Mon Mothma? - yes.

In the end, I am just happy to see Retro releasing more never made characters. Something I feel really needs to be more on the forefront, with re-releases trickled out.

I'm glad they did Mon Mothma because it's cool to have never-before-made figures released in this line but the reissues are where it's at for me. That Royal Guard and Yak look sweet! Mon looks okay but there's something a bit off about her face. Looks more like a Super 7 figure than a Kenner. So we're up to 34 of the 92 reissues now last time I counted.

This Leia would be awesome! But like you, I am happy with Mon Mothma especially since I have been such a fan of hers in Andor. Heck, I am still hoping for an Andor wave and with another Mon Mothma fig. :)

That said — maybe Leia can come in a future box? I am really digging these exclusive boxes! Especially as they seem to be coming out a bit faster than regular big box retail would allow these days… I see this line continuing for a good long while now.

Here is the Rogue 1 costume... Looks pretty gray here.

PS — I really like that the decades later actress — Genevieve O’Reilly — also wore this same outfit. Mon is my favorite character in ALL the new media, so getting A retro version of her is really very exciting.

I am also still hoping for an Andor wave at some point. (A box set would be awesome!). And yeah — I would love another ALL NEW Retro figure of her tossed in there as well. Mon’s costumes are amazing! Plus, all the political intrigue this character is dealing with makes the show for me. Pretty much EVERYTHING in ANDOR is amazing, but the tight rope her character walks on the show was the real highlight for me.

Don't normally collect Retro, but much like the previous Artoo & Threepio set, this looks to be a must-have. Mon is a great choice, and will go nicely with Ackbar and Madine, and the Yak Face...wow, wasn't expecting them to ever go near that one! That must be what the Hasbro team was referring to a few months ago when they said Retro fans would be "very happy later this year".

I wonder if Yak Face's appearance in this wave negates a future POTF wave. Seems like Yak would have been a better fit there.

FABULOUSO!

100% legit response and spelled accurately!:

This set is SUPERB; I can't imagine a group of six figures that feels more "Return of the Jedi", if you know what I mean!

Of course my preference would be that these would be available single-carded in every conceivable retail outlet across the globe, but if this is the only way to get these, that's fine. In addition to continuing to put out OT boxes with new figures sprinkled in to each one, this may be the perfect "low-risk" format to release a wave each for the PT movies!

WOW WOW WOW

Awesome set for us retro collectors. Glad to see Hasbro is giving us a new figure and starting to conquer the Last 17, hopefully the progress continues at a steadier pace. Yakface is one of the few elusive figures I am missing from my collection, so this set fills a void too. Maybe this might lower the prices on some of the vintage ones too.

Absolutely blown away. Just a few weeks ago a friend of mine completed his vintage carded set with Yak. Now we’ll both have one to open.

They could really have fun with this ALL NEW figure going forward such as this I think. Imagine a ANH six pack containing the following:

Greedo
Walrus Man
Snaggletooth
Hammerhead
BLUE Snaggletooth

and…

Bith Cantina Band Member.

I suppose I army building would be wanted of that last guy — so he could be released concurrently as a two pack with four additional instruments.

The could also do another ANH pack with:

R5-D4
Power Droid
Death Star Droid
Jawa (vinyl caped varient)
Luke Skywalker (X-Wing Pilot)

and…

Sandtrooper (Orange Pauldron(

Who could be concurrently released with a two pack Black and White Pauldrons

In theory, these should come out this fall or before the end of the year as they have the 40th Anniversary logo….
