Up next is the ROTJ 79 Back (Anakin Offer). In my opinion, the hardest ROTJ cardback to track down.

No contributions in this thread, since I have never seen one for sale.

Like the ROTJ 77 Back, I do not know much about this offered version and need some help with feedback.

Printed offer:
Lumat and Paploo, they are it and they are pretty easy to find.

Sticker offer:
Most of the ROTJ figures are not to hard to find.
Some of the other figures like Han Bespin, Chewbacca, and Vader are also not impossible to find.

I agree with Jason, probably the hardest ROTJ back to find, due to the fact that not many 79 backs were out to begin with to put stickers on.

I have a Han Bespin and Gamorrean Guard.

Phil, I am assuming the first five you mentioned are the stickered versions....correct?

I am under the impression that only Lumat and Paploo were released with the printed corner offer. I have never seen another character with the printed corner Anakin offer. And what a real shame that is as I think it is one of the most attractive looking offers ever developed by Kenner.

I've never seen a 79 back Chewie with Anakin offer, though I've seen quite a few 77s. I'm actually looking for a 2nd Photo with Anakin offer, but I've been off my ebay game for a little while now.

There's one listed right now at www.finalfrontiertoys.com. I don't know if it is still in stock.. it is also quite expensive IMO.

Picked up a Luke X Wing version a couple of years ago and never paid much attention to any others after that so i wasnt even aware of the potential rarity.

I was just wondering if the coin offer was harder to find than the anakin offer.

I only have 3 79 backs but I don't know which have Anakin offers. I'll check back and post it later.

Heres my Paploo with the printed offer. Made in Mexico and has a hole punched into the back of the card behind the figure which Im told was factory made.

I am a ROTJ 79-back collector, but i usually opt for an offerless card. In my collection, I presently have a 79-back Emperor with Anakin sticker offer. I have also seen 79back Stormtrooper and Ree Yees with the Anakin sticker offer.

The last four figures I bought as a kid were 79-back Anakin offers. 2 of them were stickers, Han trenchcoat and Rancor keeper; two were printed, Lumat and Paploo. They were of course opened, but I still have the card backs. What I am unsure of is whether the sticker offers are indeed 79 backs. Were 77 backs given the anakin offer stickers?

"Were 77 backs given the Anakin sticker offers?"

Yes.
They are actually more common than 79 backs with the stickers simply because there were fewer 79 backs released.

I wanted to bump these threads to see if anyones perspective has changed since they were started. Any one figure easier/tougher to find these days? I missed out on an Anakin offer jawa a few months ago. No offer logo on the front, but the back had the offer for Anakin. Very strange..

I obtained a nice AT-ST Driver 79 back with Anakin offer stickers. The most incredible part... it has a perfectly clear bubble! I don't know much about the rarity of the card... but its hard to find AT-ST Drivers with clear bubbles. Cost to me... about $20.

Question: I notice that my 79 back also has an assortment number sticker, and I see a few pics here show the same. Are the assortment number stickers a common thing with the 79 backs?

I have added Luke Skywalker (X-Wing) and Rebel Commando (79 backs with the Anakin offer) to my collection in the past year.

I frequently check ebay, and it seems like the 79B's don't come up as frequently as they used to. But that trend could change. Or maybe I'm just missing them.

My 79 back AT-ST Driver with Anakin offer stickers and assortment sticker. So does anyone know what's up with the assortment number stickers? Were they changed or were they left off the card (that is, what's under them)?

Some kind of store code I believe?
I would guess the existing code clashed with something else the store sold.

My 77bk Jawa with this has a Kmart price tag

Could be interesting to start a separate thread about them?

I think its factory applied myself. But you answered my next question... which was going to be 'is it strictly the 79 backs that use the assortment stickers?' Obviously some of the 77 backs must have them too.

You can find these stickers on multiple types of backs-- here's one from a 65 back (originally placed upside down), as well as a look underneath:

So underneath the assortment number sticker, we find... another assortment number. These appear to be factory-applied after they decided to change the assortment number on certain figures.

Since the New Years bell has rung, time to bump the ROTJ cardback threads. Have fun, reply and let the 2013 debate begin. A Jawa popped up a few years ago, but the owner sent it to AFA for a bleeping U grade, due to touch-ups on the card. That is the only one I have ever seen on a 79 Back.
