It looks like a new 2 pack has been revealed online featuring Rey (Jedi Training & Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master):

Who's going to be purchasing this? Thoughts on these figures?
 
I'd love to purchase them. Though, if they are really SDCC exclusives it may be tough...
 
I hope these get wide release and aren't only SDCC. I think as a 2-pack, it might be SDCC and then released individually for retail.
 
I would like to see better pictures of both of them. I really wish Hasbro would use the face printing tech they've been using on Marvel Legends recently.

Both of these figures are likely buys for me, but not at secondary market prices. I'm so glad that Hasbro has chosen to go this route with their exclusives. I can wait a month an half to get these figures in their standard packages.
 
These are a must have for me. I'm not going to SDCC but I figure these on eBay will be way cheaper than a flight to Cali.
 
This is some ********, as someone who went to celebration and only got a repacked xwin luke exclusive. Eff Hasbro.

So we wait two years for Jedi Luke and they make him an exclusive??!! I hope this is the same figure we're getting on Force Friday, same with Rey. Otherwise, Hasbro REALLY dropped the ball on this one.
 
I am unreasonably excited about this new old beardy Luke figure. So cool.
I also hope the Rey face looks better in close ups . . .
 
Gee whiz, settle down, peeps. You been paying attention the last couple of years? They always have some 'exclusive' in packaging only, which is just an early release of the same exact figure + accessories that come out later. That is 99.9999% positively what this is. No need to worry, or bid on that one that's up for $500 already.

Good posting! Seems like people just wanna complain about Hasbro all the time, instead of complaining where it counts! Paint apps!

Seriously though, I'm sure that these are the same figs we'll be getting on Force Friday, but at first glance, I personally thought the worst. Doesn't change the fact that Luke, Rey, and Leia could be as tough to find as Phasma and the Stormtrooper were two years ago, which concerns me even more. I hope to be first/second in line yet again, but regardless of what happens to me, I'd hope the rest of you guys will be bale to acquire them relatively more easily as well.
 
I just heard that old man Obi-Wan was an sdcc exclusive! They'll never bring that out to the public in two forms of packaging!

Exactly. Aren't both these figures already slated for a FF release individually?
 
I sense a great disturbance in the force as though million collectors kept hitting the F5 key and were suddenly silenced. I fair the Rey/ Luke back has sold out.
 
Really nice set, but I'll still be gunning for an exclusive Thrawn online. These two will be readily available come Force Friday.
 
So are we NOT getting a Rey in Resistance outfit then? I am a little surprised that they didn't come out with Resistance Rey FIRST......then after the movie, release Jedi training Rey. Unless we get both before the movie....then I am okay. LOL.
 
I've heard a lot of people say these aren't too good. I'm not sure why though. I agree Rey is a bit soft in the likeness, but it's certainly better than Jyn or Cassian. Looks better to me than the previous Rey IMO, but then again it may be that I like her outfit in this one so much more.

The Luke looks great to me when I blow the image up on my computer. I really see a bearded Mark Hamill Likeness. I'm not sure why others don't.

These are probably handpainted prototypes, so the bad news is that whatever we get may look worse. But who knows, since they are selling these in a few days, maybe these are in hand images of the actual product.

I think I'll wait for the September version in the hopes that they look even better. They often improve paint apps on later releases of the same figure.

(Did hasbro forget that he picked it up before evacuating DS2?)

I think it was discussed earlier in the thread. It makes sense to me, the possibility that they have not equipped him with his green saber yet, due to potential movie spoilers

I wonder which version of Rey is coming on FF. Last year, we got two SDCC exclusives on FF (unmasked Kylo and Jyn) and another a few months later (Ben). This year we know we are getting Thrawn, a Luke, and a Rey on FF, plus the speeder. It'd be weird for all 4 exclusives to be out on FF this year rather than holding one back.

Maybe we'll get Thrawn, TFA Luke, and Resistance Rey on FF and they'll put the SDCC exclusive Rey out in December alongside a second version of Luke?

I bet the lightsaber will come when they release Luke in his black outfit from the trailers. This is his look from the beginning of the film. He might not use his saber while in this outfit anyway.

Said this in the other thread but, if you look closely at the left side of Luke's belt, it appears that he has a hook for a saber hilt.
 
The product page is on HTS now, for a release date of 8/14. Rey doesn't look as bad as before, but still has a bit of a derpy expression.

I'm going to opt to save $10+ and wait for the general release versions. And with that comes the option of making sure the paint apps are good on each figure, plus any sort of Force Friday sales that there may be.

The packaging is nice. But I collect figures, not packaging.

Much better image. I agree, she's not so derpy in this one. A better paint job will do the trick, same for Luke.

Same for me, it's not the packaging, but the figures. I open all mine (though I still have an extra biker scout + speeder bike in the box)
 
I dont think Rey looks that bad. Looks like this picture confirms that Luke does not come with any accessories. I am definitely waiting for the general release on these figures, I doubt they will be difficult to find and I am not paying a premium for a figure that I can grab at the local target in a couple of months
 
Rey looks like a zombie, once again, but i'm not going to really judge until I see them in person. There's a lot of times that the "first look prototypes" is not exactly the same as what hits the stores. Either way, I would almost guarantee these will be prevalent and on discount in the coming months. As much as I want to go grab all the new figures on Force Friday, I think I should wait a bit... I know it's a gamble, but for the last two years, these first waves that are associated with the new films tend to be released in mass. Wave 1 and Wave 7 are still very much easy to land, and at a discounted price from RRP. I'm tempted to believe the same will be the case with these two waves that are coming on Force Friday. We'll probably end up seeing that Rey figure pegwarm like Jyn has.
 
I'll add this... I'm quite happy that the cloak on Luke is soft goods. I'm not a fan of the Krennic style.
 
And of course, my chances of getting these things without resorting to ebay (or getting lucky in September) is now all but nil. For the first time in years, I'm off from work the day they go on sale - unfortunately, I have to take my wife to the oral surgeon, of which there's no way out of. The last few years has seen these go live between 11-11:15 - exactly the time I have to leave for her 11:15 appointment!!! Yes, I *might* have a shot just before leaving, but if it comes down to checking my phone in the waiting room, there's no way to refresh and order as quickly as I could on my computer. :':)(

Maybe you will get lucky and snag them while waiting. But yeah phones are slow to refresh...
