So, wait..... Walmart just lost the "Black Series" as an exclusive line, to favor the return of TVC at mass retail. Now, Walmart is getting an EXCLUSIVE TVC figure? Like an actual, numbered card back figure, as part of the basic line? WTF is going on here???
It's ridiculous. I can go on and on and on but it's not even worth it.

Walmart is the worst.

Finding this and the Mimban Trooper is gonna be fun!
Almost as fun as the Scarif Trooper wave!

What is this very mysterious "Scarif Trooper wave" you speak of? My store never got the last two waves. At all.

I got my squad of Scariff Troopers from Walmart.com back in December 2016 during the only time Walmart proper was selling their exclusive on their own site.

I have yet to see another Scariff Trooper either at retail or Walmart.com (as in actually Walmart not some third party like Toy Wiz).

It'd been nice if these 2 am excls were potf/coin carded making it true excls, like the barge yakface. But the leaked image of Mimban trooper suggests these will be standard tvc cards.

His post confused me too. I really wish this Rey was in her grey Jedi look instead. Still a nice figure though.
I gave up on hoping Hasbro was going to do the right thing there and picked up a custom on Ebay. That seems to be the only way to go anymore if you want even decent versions of the characters.

So Walmart got BOTH TVC and 6" Mimban troopers as exclusives? Damn..... I can count on not being able to find at least one of them.

And she doesn't come with her staff event though that is what she's holding in her card art. At least I got extras. Hopefully Walmart Canada will get her.

Getting this one for sure, loving the dual language name pill and multi language text in the back as well on the new TVC.

Quite why Hasbro have created this ridiculous situation of a 5POA and SA duplicate of the same figure in two different lines at the same time?!

eg: 5POA Island Journey Rey and SA Vintage Island Journey Rey. Then 5POA Snoke and SA Vintage Snoke. And 5POA Jyn and SA Vintage Jyn. And other examples of this as well. All on the pegs at the same time with similar release schedules.

Imagine what Hasbro could do if they just ditched 5POA and focused 100% on SA. Hasbro need to sort their mess out. No wonder their Star Wars sales are tanking. They've created utter chaos, disillusionment and division in the collector community.

I’m only stating the obvious, but Hasbro keeps the 5POA line as the “cheaper” toys for parents to buy their kids. They want us collectors to pay a premium for the SA figures. I totally agree with you though, would be nice if they would just make better articulated figures as the standard. Is it really that much more expensive to produce them? And yet they keep cutting corners with repacks and flimsy card backs. I would love it if Disney would give the license to another toy company, but I’m not sure who it would be, and I’m not sure the Star Wars merchandising machine is lucrative enough anymore for another company to be interested in it.

"32 sold", How does this eBay guy just have 30 or more of this figure? Are figures like "the skim" in CASINO??

Is the photo on the card a scene from the movie or did Hasbro photoshop that together? I don't remember seeing that particular scene.

Gets props for having ankle joints the same colour as the boots for once.
I'm shocked to see the ankle joints match, you'd think for a premium line it would never be an issue. Hopefully this becomes a trend, and Hasbro pays closer attention to what comes out of the factories they work with.

I think they mis-match the joints on purpose, so they can come back later with a "corrected" version and make us buy even more of the same figure.

I am really excited for this figure, but I may end up using the 5POA poncho on her. Something about the way this soft goods poncho is sewn is awkward, particularly the seam on the front.

Eh. She looks okay, but I'll probably pass at least for a bit. Would rather get the superior 6" release, plus the head looks more like Jaina than Rey.

I really would have preferred it to be packaged behind the figure (as an accessory) rather than the feature of the look. And for the image to be of her without the cape on. This was a very fleeting look and for us to get this figure on vintage ahead of the regular costume is a little annoying.

I've said before that this is my favorite Rey outfit to date. It has the ESB Bespin Luke feel to it. With that said, I agree with others that the bubbles are just too big with these new cardbacks. Why cover more of the images? Guess maybe they are all same size regardless of character? That makes cost sense but detracts from the look. Don't like that it shows her with the staff and no lightsaber but comes with no staff. Not that I need staff but you know. And at this point I just hate supporting anything TLJ. Wish it had title from TFA since we are not that concerned about being correct with everything anyways.

Anyone receive their Rey ordered from the China ebay seller yet? I worry that it will arrive shipped in a plastic bag instead of packed well in a box and likely damaged.

You didn't order one hoping it was gonna show up mint did you? Because it's gonna show up in either a really really really small box or a padded envelope.

I "love" the fact that Walmart is getting a TVC exclusive when their stores don't even have a spot for TVC on their current planogram. This whole solo launch has been bizarre with Walmart - the stores I have locally still don't have Hasbro product out. (I've seen TVC in the clearance aisles but have not seen any Solo basic line figures at any of them.) Doesn't give me a lot of trust that I will be able to find this figure.

When I went to my local Wally yesterday, "Star Wars Day", I lucked into finding a Mimban Trooper, but the entire Star Wars section was moved down the isle, shrunken and dinosaurs were in the area that had the Star Wars sign. Their buyers and merchandizers are apparently focused on everything but SW.

I hope you mean the basic 3.75 Mimban trooper not the 6 inch one. If so could you pick me up one. I offially hate my Walmarts right now. As for Rey, as soon as I get the password thing straightened out with robot kingdom I may Oder her.

The 3.75 inch TVC figure isn't out until the Fall so he was most likely talking about the 6 inch one.

More likely the basic 3.75" Solo one. There are no reports of the 6" one in stores yet either.
