Retro Want List Thread

Bring back the three packs.
Cantina
Walrus man, Greedo, (new) Dr. Evazan

Villians
Deathsquad commander, Stormtrooper, Tusken Raider

Heros
Luke, Han, Obi-Wan

Droids
Deathstar droid, Power droid, (new) Treadwell droid

A few army builders in there, some new ones, what’s not to like?

I'd love to see Hasbro give us Retro versions of the old Droids and Ewoks lines that include the cancelled 2nd series figures like Vlix and maybe even produce the vehicle The White Witch.

I'd also love to see Hasbro give us a Retro '85 POTF coin line with perhaps a few new figures to add to the line as well as some of the smaller mini rig vehicles and maybe even give us figures from the cancelled '85 line The Epic Continues line

I think they’d be a better vehicle for new sculpts than the board games.
The board games have been a burden on collectors with many going straight in the trash after the figure has been taken out.
Less packaging, far cheaper to produce, win win for Hasbro and collectors.

I realize this approach would leave new sculpts without a single carded release, but that could be remedied with an online (limited) exclusive release in single packaging. Create some genuine exclusivity for once.

It would be great to see some of those Droids & Ewoks characters, they could try one from each series to test the market. Vlix would be the obvious choice from Droids, as he's the most HTF character (that actually had a figure) from that era. They could balance out the figure size by doing Morag from Ewoks, since she is small. They could both be exclusive, at a higher pricepoint, and I'd be happy to buy them. Something like that would genuinely get me excited for the possibilities for this assortment, and the Kenobi wave just isn't doing that (outside of maybe Vader).

It bugs me when wish lists aren't vaguely realistic, even though the name 'wish list' implies that chances stand it won't happen- but you'd love it if it does. Like the Willow Reaction figures coming out they're doing Madmartigan, Kael, Willow, Bavmorda and Sorsha. Nice solid wave and probably the most the Willow market could stand. And I'm over here all "I hope they also do Arik, and High Aldwin, and Willow's wife and kids, and Meegosh, and Burblecutt, and a Nockmaar soldier, and Galadorian soldier, the nurse maid with death dog, and Lug, and Lug's wife, and the brownies, and that cat the brownie falls in love with..." that sort of thing.
That said, as a hypocrite...
I'd love it if they did some 'fan dark times' figures. Early 90s "legends" stuff. Heir to the Empire (albeit Thrawn is almost definitely coming if there's an Ahsoka wave), Jedi Academy, Dark Empire and Dark Empire II, Tales of the Jedi, Droids etc.
So in the off chance someone on the Hasbro Star Wars Retro Collection team that also desperately wants a vintage style Empatojayos Brand figure is reading this... solidarity brother! ✊

Halfway through a truly EPIC Season 1 — here’s my take on an Andor Retro Collection.
These 6 figures would best represent the show thus far. (In my humble opinion.)
Listed in the order in which they first appears in the show.

B2EMO (Ferrix)

Deedra Meero (Coruscant)

Cassian Andor (Aldhani Fatigues)
Vel Sartha (Aldhani Fatigues)

Luthen (Coruscant Gallery Owner)
Mon Mothma (White Robes of Coruscant)

I agree with the general sentiment that Andor isn't as overtly "toyetic" as the other SW D+ shows have been---but perversely enough, that just makes me want figures from it even MORE. Absolutely love this show!

I'd have no complaints if we got the wave you laid out, Mark, but my alternate two-wave (pipe dream!) line-up would be:

Wave 1:
1) B2EMO (Ferrix) with Corellian Hound (non-articulated, Vintage Salacious Crumb/Dianoga style)
2) Cassian Andor (Ferrix)
3) Syril Karn (Pre-Mor Uniform)
4) Bix Caleen (Ferrix)
5) Luthen Rael (Ferrix)
6) Mon Mothma (White Robes of Coruscant)

Wave 2:
1) Cassian Andor/"Clem" (Aldhani Fatigues)
2) Vel Sartha (Aldhani Fatigues)
3) Luthen Rael (Coruscant Gallery Owner)
4) Deedra Meero (Coruscant)
5) Lt. Gorn (Aldhani)
6) Dr. Quadpaw (Frezno)

...mayyyybe swapping out the second Luthen for either Kleya Marki (Coruscant Gallery Concierge) with her red hooded cloak, or, going fully delusional, Maarva Andor (Ferrix).

With a new wave being announced, we all know it’s most likely going to be new media since we are already getting two waves of OT next year. I wish Hasbro didn’t overlook Book of Fett figures since it would have been cool to have Cobb Vanth, Krrsantan, Cad Bane, Fennec, Tuskens and Fett. We know it’s probably going to be Andor but I really think Hasbro missed on some good characters for in this line. And when are they going to release some vintage style vinyl storage cases? Come on Hasbro. We need to store our loose figures.

Anytime anybody mentions the old storage cases I always agree!!! The old rectangle vinyl ones were the best. Didnt care for the Vader or 3PO ones.
They need to ditch the board games and release the never made before figure with the vinyl case. Super 7 did it with their TMNT vinyl case with Mikey and before that they had one with an exclusive Hellboy. Hasbro just doesn't want to make more money on this line.

Yeah that would be sweet. No hate mail when I say this but I would like retro carrying cases for the Mandolarian and Book of Boba Fett. Make the art on them similar to the vintage ones.

I'd love to see Hasbro maybe try a retro style Playset idea from either Mandalorian, Andor or Book of Boba Fett with an exclusive figure as well as the cases. Maybe even an exclusive "retro" style vehicle with exclusive figure...

I think if Hasbro was to re-release the classic Kenner sculpted Slave 1 again with an exclusive Boba Fett it would sell out in minutes. they could also re-release/retool the old Kenner Cantina to make a Nevarro Cantina and pack it with an exclusive figure or 2. the possibilities are endless.

I'm wondering how a beast / small vehicle assortment would do in Retro, since we know that at least a speeder bike is coming to TVC. Also curious what the pricepoint difference would be, as I can't see a Retro speeder and figure for $45 moving. I'd like to see them test it out though, maybe with a beast like the Blurrg, if they aren't going to do one in TVC.

I've thought for awhile that with some clever engineering, Hasbro could double-dip on a Blurrg (or an Eopie) by sculpting one that could share most of its tooling to serve as both a Retro Collection and a TVC---the trick would be a different back/saddle piece and a hollow body, with the Retro featuring the Kenner "hatch" and a saddle like the Kenner Dewback and Tauntaun, sculpted to look like the rider's legs...The Vintage Collection version would have a solid back piece flush with the rest of the body, with the seams hidden by the saddle. It would only be a matter of deco after that, because both the original Dewback and Tauntaun have fairly detailed sculpts; the paint apps would be the most obvious difference between the two.

Yeah, I wondered that myself, even questioning whether the Mission Fleet version could be resized, retooled, and then repainted. I actually love the little MF sculpt for the Blurrg, really glad I bought it, just wish we had an official release in 3.75 scale, which would likely be a huge seller based on the demand across the web I've seen.

I have 2 (one sealed) of the Vintage Star Wars vinyl cases and one from ESB sealed.

I'd love to see a 'fill in the gaps' wave for each of the OT movies. Do figures in Retro style and give them Kenner style names. Yes, I know there is some fan figures but I want official ones.

I'll keep it to the regular 6 figures in a wave.

ANH
Uncle Owen
Aunt Beru
Sandtrooper
Rebel Fleet Trooper
Han Stormtrooper
Cantina Band Member

ESB
Imperial Admiral (base it on Ozzle)
Wedge
Luke Dagobah (tank top Luke)
Medical Ship Leia
Bespin Escape Leia
General Reiken

Honestly, ESB was covered VERY well by Kenner. I actually had to put effort into thinking who they could do without getting into 2 second nobodies. Even ROTJ is pretty covered.

ROTJ
Mon Mothma
Y-Wing Pilot (i'd say Slave Leia but she is a no-no in today's world)
Oola
Mother Ewok with baby
Vader with removable helmet
R2-D2 with serving tray

So many figures I’d love to see in the retro line. Here are 5, not necessarily top 5 but 5

-Darth Mail with cloak like kenobi’s
- Naboo Royal Guard
-Rebel Fleet Trooper
-Count Dooku
- Wurher
Yes to Darth Maul (but I'd also add Kenobi and Jinn)
Rebel Fleet is a Must as this is a guy that's been a must since 1978

ANH: RFT, Ellors Madak, Dr. Evasan, Sandtrooper, Han/Leia/Luke Yavin, Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru, Imperial mouse droid, Treadwell, Captain Antilles, Wedge, Biggs, Porkins, General Dodonna, Wuher, Imperial scanning crew, Imperial officers.
an updated, more screen accurate Imperial Officer with a scale Imperial Mouse Droid and Imperial Naval Officer on retro style ANH Cards would be awesome. I also love the idea of Wedge and Biggs as well but you'd have to throw in Luke as well.

The Yavin set I could see as a 3 pack with perhaps a small diorama like stand with a simple reversable cardboard backdrop (one side the throne room scene and the other a Yavin hanger bay) this could even be a 4 pack with General Dodonna.

I'd do a re-release / update of the Creature Cantina from the Kenner era and do exclusive pack-ins of Wuher, Ellors Madak and Dr. Evasan along with Walrus Man.

They could even modify / retool the Creature Cantina from Kenner to be a sorta Lars Homestead playset and give us Owen and Beru along with a Sandtrooper (but I'd also want to troop build the Sandtrooper - so maybe make an exclusive Sandtrooper for the set)

The functional holster is such a welcome yet appropriate design addition with roots firmly planted in the ESB Hoth Han figure. Really any “vintage” resculpt would benefit from this addition just as Vader has benefitted from a non-telescoping lightsaber. Hoping that any new sculpts or retoolings have this feature

Marvel Retro just announced a Ghost Rider and Hellcycle. More reason the Retro Collection should get vehicles in the line. Start with the speeder bike for the ROTJ and do another for the Mandalorian. Throw in an AT-AT too lol.
I definitely agree with starting a retro vehicle line like a Speeder Bike and figure as this would be a great way to gauge interest in a $25.00 price point line (as I believe that is how much the Ghost Rider set is going for).. I say give us for start as it is the 40th Anniversary of Jedi a deluxe Kenner style Speeder with either a POTF Endor Luke or Endor Leia as well as a Speeder with Scout Trooper)

as far as an AT-AT goes... while I'd love to see Hasbro revisit the classic Kenner AT-AT I think the price point would be way too high... I'm guessing over the $150 price point. I'd rather see Hasbro re-release the AT-ST and package in a AT-ST Driver in the set or even re-produce some of the mini rig vehicles from Endor like the Ewok Hang Gliders, Boulder launcher etc and include some never before made Ewok figures as pack-ins.

Or a Landspreeder. In that four of the Original Twelve ride in it. While three others interact with it…
The Landspeeder was the 1st Star Wars vehicle I owned as a kid so to get a re-issue of the Landspeeder in Vintage package (Even with the Retro feel deco) would be most welcome. I can see them selling this for under $30.00

I’d be all over getting a couple. It would be nice having mint versions of these vehicles.

I figure they can pack in figures with both the AT-ST and the AT-AT but it would be cool if they included a survival pack too. Yes it would be steep at $150 but they could pack in a carded Commander and AT-AT Driver with it. I could go for all those ideas especially the glider and catapult.

That's the thing, can Retro sustain any higher pricepoints? Even those 2-packs won't sell out at $28, they linger on places like Amazon, and I'm willing to bet they all go on sale eventually, like so many of the other single packed figures. The Monopoly game w/ figure seems like a huge fail, now that they're at a discount outlet for $20. Maybe it was a bad call to begin with, or maybe Retro consumers dont want to pay these higher pricepoints, and prefer to keep it simple, with the basic range (which might be a slow seller as well, apparently nothing sells out anymore). I'm curious to know myself, as it could help predict what's viable in this assortment going forward.

I came across this image of a 3D printed kit being sold on Etsy. Ackmena needs to be a real figure. I'd probably buy 30-40 Holiday Special Retros if Hasbro made them.
