Re: Recent DVD Purchases

Not an actual purchase, but my dad dropped off Transformers Season 1 DVD at my house. OK for the most part, but was disappointed to the numerous changes on "Heavy Metal War". Was the original master of that episode really that far gone?

I'm on the fence with Ghost Rider. What are some of the scenes in the extended cut version if you don't mind me asking? I'm on the fence with this one.

Thanks,
Todd

I can't believe TF is already coming out on DVD and we're still waiting for Spiderman 3 and POTC...

Re: Recent DVD Purchases

I don't know if this counts but yesterday was my birthday and my fiancee bought me the 4th Voltron set, Red Lion. She bought me the blue one for christmas, now I just need to pick up yellow and green and I'll have all the ones released so far. I did get some birthday money so I think I'll pick those up today. I still have a few episodes from the blue set to watch though.

Spidey 3 will be out on the 30th. I think POTC is early next month. As much as I was meh-semerized by Spidey 3 I will stil pick it up to give it another shot and round out the dvd collection.

I'm defintely picking up Transformers, not sure about Planet Terror yet though. I thought it was ok. I guess I am still holding out hope for a proper Grindhouse release one day.

You'll regret that purchase, I guarantee it.

You can't really regret any $3.98 purchase. Thats the same price as a rental
Agreed. Thats why I picked up Bad News Bears, which I watched over the weekend and liked, and Get Rich Or Die Tryin', as I have never seen either. I did see MI3 in theaters, I remember liking it but not much else about, figured $4 was a no brainer in adding it to the collection.

Speaking of dvd's can anyone recommend a good dvd shelf/case, preferrably with doors? I have close to 300 dvd's, including box sets. Right now they are divided between two small bookcases which our youngest likes to terrorize.

Re: Recent DVD Purchases

The $3.98 rack at walmart took like $20 from me.

Catch Me If You Can
Top Gun
Chumscrubber
World Trade Center
I got a 5th but can't remember what it was.

I took Elizabeth to the front but it was $10 so I passed. I love history so I would've given it a shot for $3.98

I'm pretty indifferent to the POTC franchise in general but I know my wife and oldest son will want the dvd so I'll pick it up for them.

I'm also awaiting these two here in a few days. I have Planet Terror reserved at FYE and plan on picking up the 2-disc Collector's Edition of Transformers.

Re: Recent DVD Purchases

Had to get me, yet another copy of the newer version of the movie Versus .
The one with the metal case. Why? Well my friends, the person I let borrow my last copy didn't want anyone to know they were moving out of state. So the dogs are gonna be let loose on this person.

Hey Shadow? Does yr beagle know how to track......anything? Besides getting Knocked Up ? I mean.

Yes, she's very good at tracking, her nose is always to the ground, and she makes those snorting noises...

I bought Red Dawn and the Happy Hooker trilogy on Sunday.

I loves me some bad, bad, B-movie acting (and more!)

I've had "300" on Blu-Ray for about 3 weeks now and I just FINALLY watched it Sunday night.
It was a great movie!

I'm looking forward to picking up "Transformers" this week.

Re: Recent DVD Purchases

Picked up the Wal*Mart Transformers DVD with/for my son. The bonus disk is supposed to be narrated by Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) but the one we have is narrated by Bumblebee with only a very small snipet narrated by Prime. What gives? Did I misunderstand this?
