Republic Commando RC-1138 teased on Twitter for Gaming Greats line. RT'd by David Collins, so I'm hopeful it's legit. Looks pretty nice!

Awesome reveal 👍🏻just hope the rest of Delta Squad comes in too 🙏
But....what could the tease of the next following figure be ? The glove looks like some other clone, but whats with the pole ? Can't think of anyone 🤔🤔

As much as I love RC's and Delta Squad in particular, the fact that pretty much anything I want seems to now be in the upper price point is what makes it all the more sad. I just don't feel they're worth the $27, so definitely a bummer for me.

That said it does look cool, though his orange areas looks a bit too dark.

That Republic Commando is awesome, but not awesome enough for $27 plus shipping and tax! I’ve been getting priced out of the Black Series over the past few months.

RC-1138 (Boss) (Gaming Greats) from Republic Commando. This is #07 in the Gaming Greats sub-line.

I think he looks great. The 3.75” Delta Squad figures were some of my favorites. I wish the armor were a little bulkier and less animated looking. I will probably get this

I think he looks great. Not perfect, as there are some inaccuracies, but overall it's not bad. Looks like they indeed used the Hunter body with a new helmet.

Now the question is - Who is #08 holding the pole/weapon?

It's too tall a pole and they surely wouldn't do a whole new sculpt for this line, but my first thought/wish:

I wouldn't day that, it's all on how and where he's holding it in the image. Could be holding it low and raising it high.

I think the figure looks great, especially considering the limitations of the line. I'm just happy to get any Republic Commando related products. I love that game.

The Gaming Greats line has become one of my favorite product lines. The clever reuse of parts mixed with new when necessary has been great to see. I wish Hasbro applied this level of creativity and ingenuity across the board to get us more figures in all scales.

After some heavy research, I think this could be a Imperial Heavy Trooper from Battlefront.
Would fit the GG line, as it would end up being a repainted AT-AT Pilot or TIE Pilot with melee weapon

Ey! I'm always down for more troopers! I loved Republic Commando! Kinda wished they replaced the gauntlet- the hole for Hunter's knife sheath is still there (just like with Crosshair...)

But this is a mod character by fans.

Ahhh, this is so close.

I'd never had Delta Squad on any particular wish list for TBS, but seeing this made me realise how much I'd actually love to get all four of them. But I want them done properly, and the Hunter reuse just doesn't quite cut it.

It's too skinny in the chest, the shoulder pads are wrong, the right kneepad is in the wrong place, the 'neckline' on the chest armour should be lower, the backpack looks off, he's the wrong colour and there aren't enough dings in the paint.

And this is before you get to the fact that it's a $27 price point for a figure from a game where one of the major features was a modular weapon and all he comes with is one, slightly undersized stock config DC-17.

I'm not expecting them to accurately model all the parts to make the swappable weapon modes happen, but it could have had least come with a sniper config, or the pistol, or a removeable wrist vibroblade, or some thermal / EC detonators.

This feels like a bit of a waste of a potentially fan favourite design.

Reuse is going to end up killing this line. It's fine for generic mook characters or genuine palette swaps, but unique characters should be getting the full treatment. Darth Nihilus was incredibly disappointing too.

If this was a mainline release, I might be inclined to be nit picky about the reuse of Hunter's body and the lack of some details and the inaccuracy of the proportions. However, I acknowledge that this is a Gaming Greats figure, a sub-line dedicated to one retailer in the US, and as such is going to be even more dependent on reuse and sharing of assets than the main line. With that in mind, I am very happy with this figure, and if nothing else I will view it as more of an Animated Style figure based on Boss's appearance in TCW episode "Witches Of The Mist." Thinking of it as an interpretation of the Animated RC look, the reuse of Hunter is absolutely fitting and the proportions and style work great. I know that since this is a Gaming Greats figure, we would want a Game Accurate look, not an Animated Appearance Look, but given the limitations of this line, and my love of Delta Squad, I am happy to get this.

Stoked for this.
Disappointed a little bit in the reuse and skinny look, but realistically, this is all we were ever going to get with Hasbro.

While I don't think the glimpse on the side of the box necessarily is Saw, I will note that it is possible he could appear in the Gaming Greats line, as his sculpt already exists (or will, on Rogue One's line) and he did appear in Jedi Fallen Order. It would really only need a new head and removal of the breath tubes.

Also, note that the price and release date differ from the original press release. Instead of $26.49 & a Spring '22 release, the product page lists $26.99 & a December 15th release.

Here's another instance of a product being announced without a pre-order date, and then suddenly going up for pre-order 24 hours later.

I'm just glad that I finally decided to join these forums after lurking for so many years. I can follow threads about figures I'm interested in and nice people like you will post when they come up so I don't have to keep missing out on pre-orders! :D

If they do more of the squad, the "pole" is likely the barrel of Sev's sniper rifle.

Edit: And so in for this. I loved Republic Commando.

The hand holding the pool in the box art has no visible hand armor plate that should be able to be seen at that angle, so I do not actually think it is any variety of Clone or Stormtrooper.

I think I'll wait for some mainline versions of the Clone Commando armor to show up in the Black Series. Republic Commando is easily one of the best Star Wars games, and the Delta Squadron deserves the very best in my mind

You’re gonna be waiting a long time I think. CW and BB are the only canonical appearances of a Commando so the Hunter body is likely all we’re gonna get. If you want a truly accurate Commando you’ll need to buy a custom kit like the one John Walker customs sells.

We've gotten other Trooper types, so I fail to see how they couldn't do a proper Clone Commando at a later date

I mean, they certainly could. But this is hasbro. Hell they're still pumping out the original clone mold even though they have 2 far superior new versions. For something as niche as a commando, I wouldn't hold your breath.
