Anyone picking up this droid?

At $17 + S&H for this tired old sculpt it's a hard major pass. If it had come in a 4pk with 3 other Astromechs for $45, I might have been inclined to buy it, though dependent upon what else was in it.

Frankly I just want them to move on from this sculpt altogether, WTF is wrong with using the G9 mold or better yet their own BAD mold? Can they not due to competition rules with Disney? Even so as long as they don't release the exact same Droids at the same time I would think it'd be okay.
Heck just repaint TVC149 R2 a dozen times for various Droids. IDK anymore...

they really should know better than to ever use this mold again. i'm sticking with the color change version. if they really lost the G9 mold, then just use the VOTC mold again. it's perfectly fine and much much better than this one.

A bit surprised (in a good way) that this is being released so soon. I remember Red Leader's droid came out quite a few years after his X-wing was released. I'll be getting it.

I still think this should have been included in the X-wing though.

This feels like a "wait for clearance" release, way overpriced for this same old sculpt - it should literally be half the MSRP. They should have released this with a repacked Merrick instead, considering those of us that don't collect vehicles still need the figure. Likewise, if they don't repack his figure - why bother tracking down the droid unless you own the previously released set?

It's fan channel, there is no clearance.

Sh*t sculpt. Don’t give them your money. Vote with your wallets please. They need to stop making figures with this mold.

They do need to stop using this mold, but they’re not going to listen regardless of how this sells.

They’ll just deflect blame and use it as an excuse not to make droids sadly.

I’m still excited about getting a matching Astromech but I wish it weren’t saddled with the burden of Hasbro’s poor decisions.

Excited for the release, but bummed by the sculpt. Like lots of you, I used the color-change R2 as a fill-in, and would be inclined to skip... but I still want to see more droids get a non-Disney release and don't like passing these up. I can wait on it, I hope. I still haven't removed Merrick from his card so he's not taking off any time soon.

Glad so many people are on the same page as me about the VC25 Bartoo mold. It needs to go bye-bye forever. However, I think I might get one for the sole purpose of trying to swap out the figure in the bubble w/ my own custom version, because my carded collection is definitely in need of more droids.

Gamestop and FYE come to mind.

I'm always surprised FYE survived the retail exodus. Pivoting away from music obviously helped buts it's really expensive.

I didn't know GameStop carried Fan Channel outside the Gaming Greats stuff.

I think they're barely surviving. The three local stores here have all closed within the last couple years. They were way overpriced anyway, so I hardly ever got anything there unless there was a big sale.

Yep, they've pretty much always been a part of the fan channel group. And, anything that they sell on the website eventually makes it into stores. The TBS Rogue One re-issues come to mind as a recent example.

Knowing I can potentially walk into a GameStop and pick this up without paying shipping and stuff makes me think I'll end up with it.

Thought this one was a regular release but for some reason, my local/overseas source won't carry it. Weird as he usually carries anything even exclusives on the US market.

I may get this if I ever see it on sale for $11, because that's the closest to current MSRP this mold is worth.

I'd say maybe it will appear as a build a droid, but it's pretty clear Disney Axed that set up. They could always pack this guy in with some other droids. The only reason Hasbro is using this mold is because they had it fired up for Droids R2 and for the ESB "Sensorscope" figure. Hasbro is so cheap that they can't fathom using more that one R2 mold at the same time. Why use a much better mold when you can save even more money by using this crappy one yet again?

Using a shite mold again, while not including all of the original accessories (even though they don't make sense for Antoc's droid) -- while charging more money for it!

I forgot that this was a fan channel release. How ironic that it'll be easier to buy this droid than Antoc's X-Wing, which saw distribution spottier than a dalmatian's coat.

I'm so glad I have no idea what the issues are with the mold and I just see an astromech that will be standing next to the ship and pilot.

The exclusivity of it and price point is a different story and I'll wait for a sale or something.
