If anyone that ordered theTarget Droids exclusives ends up with Buyer’s Remorse, I was buried in work and totally forgot about the Pre-Order. I’m looking for the 6” as well as one of each of the 3.75”.

All I know is that there are now two figure molds I'd pay someone to go to Hasbro and destroy, this R2 and that barrel chested Endor Han!
If I ever see these two molds used again I'm going to have a freaking cow!

Not very likely I'll get one of these Artoos. I like the forthcoming Droids Threepio and Boba Fett but this one just doesn't do it for me.

What is this R2 mold from? I’m not a connoisseur.
The poop-tastic "Bartoo" mold (VC25). Hasbro once heralded it as the ultimate astromech figure, putting it above the G9 and B.A.D. molds. They must have been off their meds when they made that comment. The ONLY thing it has going for it, is that perhaps it's a bit better scaled with standard 3.75" humanoid figures, but that's debatable. Everything else about the figure is garbage, especially the highly flawed "action feature".

Well really has Hasbro ever delivered the perfect anything in TVC or Black series. I'd say no. It's almost like they go out of their way not to. On a side note, I'll take any OT Era Figure so I'm in all of these droids figures.

I suppose I'll be the contrarian then... since I think this is my favorite R2 mold. I even bought 2 of the EE 6packs and love them. I suppose its the scale and the the arms etc. I do have the 2004 VOTC sensor scope RoTJR2 as well carded but not loose so I have yet to compare it. But I like R2 units better when they have attachments etc.

Re: Artoo - This is the droid I’m looking for!

Srsly - of the three Droids figures, this is the one I want most, as I plan to keep carded and like R2’s coin the most.(y):giggle:

I guess it really is subjective then, because I feel there have been few instances of perfection. Bom Vimdin for example is one of the best figures ever made in 3.75" scale!

Agreed their is some very very good ones. What I meant was you get perfect this and perfect that then bad articulation on the same figure. Others you may get the articulation and then you have other issue's. Say like the Last Luke EP6 Jedi VC that came out with new face tech. It looks great and then you get monster hands from 2010 etc etc.

Can't help but feel like the TCW R2 might have been a more suitable figure to base this on.
That was my thought. I still wouldn't really want this version of an astromech in my collection (or it would be a very low priority) but that Clone Wars version would have been a better choice for those who do want it based on the paintscheme alone.

I never liked TCW molds for Atro Droids, they just looked too blocky IMO. There are perfectly good Astro molds in the basic 3.75" scale lineup to use without having to go outside the line, so I don't feel that would have been an option in the first place.

The bad sculpt almost makes it work better as a stylized Droids figure. It’s okay. It’ll have to do.
