I was going to say it leaked 2 year ago, but they've changed the design.

I was hoping for a mummy or a werewolf to keep the monster theme going but this looks cool too.
Yeah I thought it was that one at first too! Still hoping that one surfaces someday.

Neat deco, I don't see "Halloween" in it per say, but it's a totally passable as some random Droid!
Really? It's the two primary colors associated with Halloween, with an additional hit of green on top of the dome to emulate a pumpkin color scheme. It can pass as a regular droid for sure, but definitely has that Halloween vibe.
i wonder why there veered away from the orange R2 in the pic from a while back (above)...that 1 kinda reminded me of the dark colored candy corn
As far as R-units, i wonder why we never got an R8 (Halloween) or R9---heck, i still want a protocol or D3 model for these holiday repaints

It has quite a lot of black patches for a pumpkin. Also, the BB was a pumpkin already. Ah well, only so many Halloween color schemas around...
Maybe a carved jack 0 lantern?
I guess a bb pumpkin and an R2 pumkin are different enough. A protocol could make a decent scarecrow or a tall skeleton. .and if they add a soft goods hooded cloak...a grim reaper

Probably just re-using the most recent paint stencils until they're worn out
This is the most 'in universe' looking paint scheme they've done for any halloween droid, and personally I'm here for it. What I noticed straight away was that all the parts that would be silver on an "in universe' droid, are silver here - the shoulders, the plates and grills in the body, the little rods on the ankles etc...
I don't usually pick up holiday droids because they are too garish for my liking, but I'll get this one (if I can). Orange is so 70's - I could see him rolling around Mos Eisley.

For Halloween, it'd be cool if they did a dull black, or the shade of black the color change 3Po was-- a brownish black (like adding some drops of yellow into black paint)-- protocol w/ black or real dark grey hooded cloak and named it 6R-1M

Was also hoping for more than just a pumpkin, but it'll do.
We got Witch, Vampire, Skeleton, Green ghost, Zombie, Candy Corn, Frankenstein, pumpkin BB-8, and a generic black/purple/orange droid, and I believe that is the list.
I think werewolf, mummy, scarecrow, clown, swamp monster, presidential candidate... all good possibilities.
I'm thinking do a B2-EM0 as a jack-in-the-box with a springy clown 'hat'.
Protocol droid mummy would be good.
