Most of this whole line is the 'same figure again'.Hasbro should offer a trade in. It’s ridiculous that they fixed the head sculpt and expect us to buy the same figure again.
If you think it's the same Leia head sculpt from the existing Black Series Leia, you need glasses.Same head, better paint apps.

It would have been another buy even without the vintage card. So much better. About to see a bunch of boxed versions on eBay with cheaper prices.

StarWars.com: And is that a new head sculpt I see on Leia?
Steve Evans: Yes it is! We are always striving for improvement. Sometimes we hit a likeness the very first time and sometimes we look back and think, “If we had only tweaked that here or moved that there.”
But in this instance, we really felt we could go back and subtly improve the final product. We knew we were planning the 40th anniversary card backs and felt that was an appropriate place to update it.
The feedback we have received on the new Leia sculpt has been wonderfully positive. It just goes to show that a subtle change here and there can make all the difference. We are all very happy with her look. Especially when we see how she being photographed by the artists that participated and submitted their #hasbrotoypics.
The Fwoosh channel on YouTube just put a review up. Looks drastically better. Here's a screenshot.![]()
Looks a lot better. Slightly irritated that I just paid £23 for the bad version though.

In this case, I'm glad I waited. I had all but given up the black series, and I'm only purchasing the original 12 reissues in the hopes they will continue vintage cards for Empire and Jedi. Itd be foolish of them to not continue with the vintage card backs. They have a ton of figures they can reissue/rehash, and while I feel for collectors who purchased them the first time around, it'll be the only way they get me to shell out $20 for their take on star Wars. I'd have figured with Disney taking over their budget wouldn't be a factor. SH Figuarts is getting my $$ as they are cranking out the Star Wars figures of my dreams.
They've already confirmed the vintage card backs are only for the 12 figures in the 40th line. After this, they will return to a boxed format and the three new figures from the 12 will also be released in boxes.
